UNCHARTED 2 playlist update and “The Lab”
Our first playlist update for UNCHARTED 2 multiplayer has just been pushed out to the "All Competitive Modes" playlist.
At the same time, we started this weekend's episode of "The Lab" - RPG-7s Only - early!
If you've spent any time in the "All Competitive Modes" playlist, or selected this variation in Custom Games, there's a chance you may recognize this weekend's episode of "The Lab" - RPG - 7s Only - from the "All Competitive Modes" playlist as RPG's. Why would we put RPG - 7s Only, which you can already find in an existing playlist, into "The Lab" you ask? Because we have updated some of the gametype modes within the "All Competitive Modes" playlist.
The update to "All Competitive Modes" removed the RPG - 7s Only and Snipers & Pistole gametypes entirely from rotation. In their place, we've added two gametype modes from "The Lab" - No Power Weapons and Desert 5 - Shootout.
The current "All Competitive Modes" playlist now includes:
- Chain Reaction
- Plunder
- Turf War
- King of the Hill
- Pistol & Grenades
- No Power Weapons
- Desert - 5 Shootout
We'll be keeping an eye on how the playlist changes shake out - we're thinking of making a couple more updates to the playlists through the rest of 2011!
On top of that, we've launched "The Lab" just a little bit early instead of our usual Friday launch.
“The Lab” is a special, limited-time playlist for UNCHARTED 2: Among Thieves multiplayer that is active every other weekend. “The Lab” playlist features one or more custom-tuned gametype variations chosen by our game designers to test potential new settings, try out alternate gametypes in a real-world setting or just mix things up for the sake of variety.
“The Lab” is open NOW through Monday, February 28, at 10:00 AM PDT (what time is that in my city?).
RPG - 7s Only is a gametype normally only found within the All Competitive Modes playlist – and only when it’s randomly selected from the broad range of potential gametypes – or within custom games, we’ve decided to give RPG-7s Only it’s day in “The Lab.” Fans of this rocket-propelled explosion fest will now get their chance to play it over and over and over. Boosters are on.
The maps available during this weekend of “The Lab” are:
- The Ice Cave
- The Lost City
- The Plaza
- The Village
