Back in December 2009, Pyramind Studios hosted an exclusive behind-the-scenes event on the making of the music for UNCHARTED 2. For this event, Pyramind brought together a bunch of folks from SCEA, Skywalker Sound and the composer for our game, Greg Edmonson to discuss their experiences working on this production.

I just have to say that not a lot of people truly appreciate what you guys do! I mean music is one of the most important aspects of the game in witch it can make or break it so i would just like to show my appreciation on making such a good game with excellent music! Keep up the good work! I expect just as much (or even better!) in uncharted 3!

I’m sorry this is off topic but I don’t know where else to put it. When I try to log into uncharted it will say error syncing models. Do you want me to try deleting the game data utility and loading it again because I’ve had this problem before but it said different words and you told me to do that. Is this the same problem as error syncing data?

I also love the “Making Of” material, and pretty much anything pertaining to Uncharted. I can’t wait for Uncharted 3. I have never replayed a game franchise as much as I play through the first 2 Uncharted games. I would really like to see what Ready at Dawn could do with Uncharted on the PSP. (Mabye turn the prequel comic “The Eye of Indra” into a game) Anyway I would like to see an in depth special features Blu-ray come out that would create movies of the games by blending both cutscenes and gameplay to form a streamlined story version. Keep up the good work.

amazing to see how much work that had to be done to make this game. playing thrue arkham asylum right now, which was a goty contender, and ya its great but its not even close to uncharted 2. hope it will do 3 more million in sales cos it deserves every bit.

Thank you! The music in the game was so spectacular. Of all the other art featurettes,I was disappointed that this was a topic relatively undiscussed. I wish they could’ve talked a bit more about Karen Han and the erhu though. And there was no mention of the person(s) who did the fantastic vocals! The track ‘Train Wrecked’ is my favorite because of that. The vocals (throat singing?) in ‘Broken Paradise are fantastic too! Please do feature them at some point!

The soundtrack is amazing. Edmonson is a genius, its a shame the online multiplayer shuns all the atmosphere and character the epic soundtrack provides to the game. Please get the soundtrack in there for U3, playing dynamically in multi. i.e; Warhawk.

The music is a beautiful component of the game.

This behind the scenes segment was excellent. I was curious why a professional sound team would use obtrusive and distracting microphones and mic stands. It was a great presentation none-the-less.

hey i have a question for naughty dog inc.
hey naughty dog you think that im wring or right that when i played uncharted 2 : among thieves and hi playes halo 3 odst or mythic that you kind of copied halo 3 cause triangle is for friends and y is for friends too and it takes two hits to kill somebody or few shots and a hit then they die and you can get different skins on uncharted 2 and different equipment on halo 3 im just saying if its true and if it is can you probably team up with bungie cause i will thing of it as awesome if you can costumize but thats my opinion you do what you have to do to make everybody like and i dont know where i can report glitches <(") eats (^^^)

very nice ND, i really do think the soundtrack makes this game. The sound quality is AMAZING. I am very lucky to have a very good B&W speaker installation and the game sounds amazing.

Even my son clapped at the end of that clip! but then again he did also clap at a tree blowing in the wind the other day.

I thought the music in Drake’s Fortune was amazing. THEN Uncharted 2 came out and I couldn’t believe it. Best music in a game ever, pure and simple. It’s perfect. Even today just logging into multiplayer and hearing the music gets me pumped to play. The entire game is a masterpiece, music and all. I really hope Greg Edmonson does the music for this series for a very long time.

music is fitting and should be kept as great as it is. now just gotta get rid of the cheating triple player killing sprees and glitchers. too many times i die because of 3 people scared to branch out on their own. pathetic.

Dear naughty dog.
Hundreds of uncharted 2 players are still unable to play online because “error syncing player models” is still affecting them, despite the instructions to reinstall/repatch. Can you please address this issue?

ND already I have my ps3 repaired and ask to put in laboratory new things since when torn tape-worm her ps3 began there is necessary to do new updates and could not have played and now already I can play

hey arne i have a question? i want to know how to use dlcs(i know its quite late)i got them last night downloaded both drake’s fortune and siege packs in background after install they appear in game data utility under the name of uncharted 2 dlc pack 1. i checked file size and it was 399 mb (combine size of both)but after that when i insert game disk ,go to multiplayer .after connecting it was still saying that :we have noticed ............ : and when i push yes to go to store it takes me to store which was saying no items found . i was thinking about downloading the packs again but i think its better to have a word from you. i have also posted this on technical forums .btw i have uk version

try this: go to the download list in the ps3 store if it shows that u downloaded it go online uncharted 2 and if that reminder pops up about the dlc ignore it, then go to your profile : look under matchmaking...if u dnt hav it idk wht else to say

And ign said the soundtrack was a bit “over the top at times” pssh, they don’t know anything.
On a side note, any plans for a new Jak and Daxter title for the ps3 from you guys? I’d even buy a remade copy of Jak 3, but I guess that if you’re working on another Uncharted game I’ll be fine…

Well a big thanks to the music team, I only wish the online support team was half as smart as the music team. Seriously ND u must realize the balance problems of the game are many. I mean last night my party and I decided to show the people out there just how overpowered Situational Gayness really is. We just camped with shottys and hammers with situational on and we won 40-1! 40-1!!!! And the only death on our team was from a great spawn for the other team. (which also need fixing...again) There was simply nothing the other team could do because SA is just soooo GAY. I took a shower soon after that because it made me feel dirty using this just stupid booster. There are other problems like the auto-aim, which makes a bunch of people not even use the L1 button at all because once they get shotty, aiming is no longer needed. There are many others but these two are the biggest ones I think. I wont sell dis game you dont fix but only because the single player is too good, unlike the competitive. We WANT 1.04!

no one cares bout this $h!t ND i want uc3 now i am officialy DONE with this laggy freezing prob bad health system fkd up game.... this game is just fkd up since 1.05 fk this man i am so done with this i dont care if my name is uc2 i dont care really i wasted 20 bucks or 15 on ALL ur DLC and ALL of them does not work just because codes problem wow ND nice work i wanna refund now its not fair just think about u buying something that doesnt give u anything like me buying ur crap coded DLC its just BS…

ND, i would suggest u make uc3 now and add ALL boosters from uc2(yes all including SA, evasion, come get some, EXCEPT for DTI)but add some more booster on uc3 cuz its really boring to play the same MP.... NO MANY UPDATES it will bring lags each updates so fk that. anyways, yeah like i said this game get boring rust me i got nothing to do anymore i just hate the fact i couldnt get a fkn refund wow ND u really.... pisses me off....

sorry i talk a lot and i have big mouth whatever im moving to a new game, MW2, BFBC2, whatever man just good game unlike this laggy bad health system, bad matchmaking system, bad amount of players etc. sorry ND im really sorry to say this but ur beloved uc2 a.k.a VGA winner is dead in my eyes

we ucharted 3, we can not more of this multiplayer every time you log off and takes away $ 40,000 and above glitch invisible people play and replay the same old maps, we can say the NG some new DLC?

Why isn’t there any music in the online game modes? it’d be pretty sweet, because I’ve noticed no online game has music in there online modes. You could be the first, start a revolution.

And when you die you could make a wah wah waaah… music.
