Dogcast Episode 2: Merch and Gaming

Of Dogs and Development has been re-named Dogcast. This is the second video podcast of Naughty Dog's development team covering UNCHARTED merchandise, some of our current gaming habits, and other various thoughts and musings. Oi, sometimes it seems like people here are bigger fans (or...critics, rather) of UC3’s multiplayer component than the actual people behind it to begin with, rofl. No, there’s nothin’ ‘completely’ wrong with that, but...it would be nice to see at least a little genuine interest in seeing what goes on behind the scenes in the company and discussions about the game industry and gamer culture itself, ‘ey. Although, of course, I certainly wouldn’t mind seeing some more articles featuring updates to UC3’s multiplayer either—it’s just that Naughty Dog’s not obligated towards committing to that simple purpose, which is why I appreciate these additional little shreds of insight and reminiscing within the studio in an equal respect, since they haven’t really done so much of this until recently. But of course, this is...obviously not the popular opinion, so, in that sense, I’ll just agree to disagree, lol. xP

On the long run, though, thanks for this latest installment of the “DogCast”, ND. I’ll be looking forward to seeing this become a regular occurrence throughout later months as well, ‘ey; in the meantime, however, I guess I’ll be filling my in-between time with some Skyrim and more random The Last of Us research, lol.

I am a huge fan of Jak and Daxter and am super jealous of your cabinet of Jak and Daxter merchandise! I literally can’t find any Jak and Daxter merchandise anywhere. All I have found is a Jak 2 shirt, which isn’t great quality. If anybody knows where I can find Jak and Daxter merchandsie, please let me know!

When I was in Santa Monica last month I visited your headquarter - would love to get inside (and get a tour) some day… still a dream of mine. Naughty Dog, thatgamecompany and Quantic Dream - best game developers out there.

I like BTS too, but I’m kind of dissappointed that they removed it in Uncharted 3, including the whole Single Player Store… too much time pressure I suppose with the team-splitting of Naughty Dog. But Uncharted 1 had some awesome video’s, they had a set of video’s in which you could watch the mo-cap of the cinema’s with on the other part of your tv-screen the computer versions and the in-game cinema’s, those were awesome video’s, dissapointed from the lack of those video’s in Uncharted 2, and even more with the absence of any extra content in Uncharted 3… those video’s I see here I consider a little boring if you ask me, if you ever make an Uncharted 4, do it with the whole team Naughty Dog, because it felt a bit rushed compared to Uncharted 2, especially if you make it for the PS4, with the new technologie, I think it’s better if you go work on it with the whole team;)

Quantic Dream is awesome too, looking forward to Beyond: Two Souls, Sucker Punch is also one of my favorite developers with inFamous 1,2 and Insomniac with Ratchet and Clank Tools of Destruction and a Crack in Time:)

Hey Eric, I know this is not the place for this suggestion but i am a big fan of the Lab, loving it; It has got me interested in multiplayer again. My suggestion is instead of making us wait so long between the changing up of the lab how about have the varies modes attached to the map voting section randomly pairing labs and maps together, for example “airstrip is rpg only” and “syria is sniper/pistol” that way the community is deciding what type of lab to play and give a fresh spin on map selection and make for some interesting voting.
