Double Cash Weekend for Halloween
Halloween is only one day away and we decided we wanted to do something special for our fans over the weekend. We’re happy to say that this weekend is also our first ever Double Cash weekend in UNCHARTED 2: Among Thieves. The Double Cash weekend starts now (Friday, October 30, 2009) and continues until Monday, November 2, 2009, at 11:00 AM PST.
In every match during Double Cash Weekend, you’ll be getting twice the Cash award you normally would for completing typical game actions – not medal-related currency awards – giving everyone a leg up in increasing their Rank for a limited time. That means this weekend is the perfect time to hop on to our Competitive and Co-op Multiplayer modes – whether you’re just a few levels away from the vaunted ‘X’ or this is just your first time online.
A bunch of Naughty Dogs will also be playing this weekend, so be on the lookout for the red Naughty Dog paw next to our PSN ID in the game and feel free to say hi, ask any questions or shoot at our characters.
Stay sharp! There might be something spooky around the next corner…

I’m a GIRL, who loves playing Uncharted and is on level 34 in multiplayer. PLEASE, add a Female Villain skins, as more often than not, I’m a Villain in the game and dressed as a BOY..... Boys have a chose to pick a girl skin when they are Hero and they do, all the time! But girls only have boy Villain skins to pick!! Please help & look forward to hearing from you. Love the game

ND you really need to look at the leaving system. I lost conection in a game I just lost, signed back in and lost 40,000 dollars and skill rank now I have to do loads more playing to get back to where I was please help and change the system

everytime i join a co-op game i play for a while then 2 minutes later someone will quit and then us other 2 people have to quit. It doesnt make sence. ND can u guys make it so when someone leaves it wont reasult in a connection error or kicked from the game.

I agree with this, i spent ages trying to get to level 40 and then lost connection in a few games, even though still connected to PSN, and now have got to do the work all over again! 40,000 seems really harsh for losing connection

I was recently docked $40,000 and a skill level because another member of my Co-op group quit mid-match
yeah really. the wait penalty for the one time i had to quit out just made me stop playing the game. make it either or, not the time and the points
yh i left an elimination game because someone hit me from a distance and killed me so i left the game fast so i didnt see the $40,000 that you lose so i lost that and why do you have to wait so long just to leave the game?
dude!!! this JUST happened to me! i got logged off involuntarily and was penalized 40k for it! i sent them an e-mail. hell, if i don’t get some sort of compensation i am going to be PISSED
Agreed! I had the same thing happen to me as well. Very annoying!
I don’t mind that people lose cash over quitting early. But losing cash because of getting kicked and/or losing your connection is really frustrating.
Same happened at a friends the other day. Sucks man!
Yeah I have to agree with this just got a new isp and it keeps droping my connection I’ve lost 120,000 so far plus countless levels through no fault of my own, hope this is dealt with as this game is awesome and so far this is my onlt fault with it, please sort it out ND

love the zombies and skeletons, but got logged out of psn..when i restarted, got message saying i’d quit the game and would be penalised $140,000 dollars and dropped 2 ranks! why, it wasnt my fault, i didnt quit on purpose! PLEASE FIX THIS!

Any way you could allow us to start out with 2 weapons of our choosing in competitive multiplayer? It would be nice to add this as a perk when you reach certain levels.
Nice, 5 minutes ago i was playing the game and i was wondering why i could only play with those 2. I first thought there was someting wrong with the game but when i read this, there came a big smile on my face.

I was so worried that something happened to my account but I feel much better now. Hopefully we’ll be seeing fun additions like this every holiday.
It’s awesome but I think you guys should of made the characters all as zombies with rotting and peeling flesh! Zombie Nate and Zombie Chloe lol.

So unless I’m mistaking, the double cash is really only going to double the actual kill money from normal games modes, like TDM would be $500 a kill and other game modes will be $100, correct? But in Co-op, it’s going to really increase the payout especially if you complete the survival/gold rush for example, right?

Awesome, except the red glowing eyes stand out.
they made the eyes and heart stand out on purpose cause the skeletons dont make noise jumping or climbing!
VCan I just say that people are abusing of the grab someone off the ledge function, lands them cheap kills especially in turf war etc.

Arne - Try switching the RSS feed to ATOM. As of now, they do not come formatted properly.
We use feedburner—which should automatically detect and convert the RSS feed to what is most compatible with your reader. What reader are you using?

I fisrt i thought something was wrong then i said forget about it this is to awesome. And now as im reading now i understand. Remember the letter you get at the beginging of mutiplay. You should really put updates there. It would be thankful. I hope you let us keep the skins, and that we have more of these events. And to you naughty dogs if i catch you i will add you. 10/10 ;]
We’re working on updating the message of the day when you log in to multiplayer. We had an unforeseen delay in changing that.

Naughty Dog I love the idea of the update but ever since it happened I can’t join any of my friends parties. When ever we try to play together it says unable to join game.
There’s a few things you can try.
1. Quit out to the XMB and restart the game and/or your PS3.
2. Re-run your Internet Connection Test from the XMB and try again
3. Try and see if you can setup a XMB voice chat with any of your friends.
Let us know if any of that works or not.
Only prob with those fixes is the fact it takes a dunes age to get connected back to the game. Lately I get initialization manager and syncing errors and others I cant recall at the moment. I’m not sure what good option 3 offers. So we can talk in XMB but still cant play game?
Sweet this is awesome, good idea. If possible, could you let us use Marco Polo and Genghis Khan if we have them 2? I just got them both yesterday and now I can’t use’em lol. If you can that’ll be cool.

When I try to join a friend’s party, it tells me “Unable to Join Game.” I can play multiplayer alone fine, though. Could you guys fix this so I can play with my friends? Thanks.

Hey naughty dog is great to see you guys on and playing again but apperently we’re having a little trouble right now. When i got online to play multiplayer it doesn’t find any players or games. I think the servers are having problems or so because i left my game alone and it’s still looking for people and games for the past hour.

ok 1st off. great job with the online.but i do have 2 say. WHY IS THERE NO FREE 4 ALL??? AND KEEP IN MIND you are in competition with other online games. (CALL OF DYUTY) so you amazing guys at naughty dog best be planning a map pack for the online 7 maps thats bad. 4 or 5 more maps thats all you need. the west should be a useable gun online.other guns that could come with the map pack are(p90/rpd and mp5) and if with an update mabe it could take 2 or 3 less bullets with the ak47 and m4. you do know the ak47 is one of the srtongest guns in the world right? and make the skins from uncharted 1 available please(eddie pirate etc)do this and you will go from 15000 people online too 100000 people online. ps i love what you amazing people at naughty dog have done. just trying to help. as everyone is just say positive things.this is constructive criticism. thanks for reading and please do some of the things i have asked. steve iceman888srf

Yes. When I first got on today I was like WTF happened to the game but then I had the same thought everyone else had about Halloween coming up tomorrow. I didn’t know about the Double Cash bit or just didn’t realize it, and that’s so freaking awesome of you guys to do that for us. When the hell has any other game developer done that? You truly cease to amaze me with your sub-par online performance. Here I was thinking that I was about to reap the benefits of Double Cash Weekend. For you people out there that aren’t English majors, double cash weekend can be broken down into three words:
1. Double- Twice, as in that Double back-flip Dave Mirra just pulled off looked awesome.
2. Cash- Currency, as in that Cash I just got playing Multiplayer was NOT doubled.
3. Weekend- End of the work week, as in boy, I sure am glad it is the weekend.
Now, Naughty Dog was able to accomplish only one of their proposed words. That would be weekend. Amazingly, Naughty Dog knows what the weekend is. I wasn’t sure if they would even get that right…
Now, on to the other two words in this so called “Double Money” Weekend. Let’s take some quotes from the PlayStation blog, shall we?:
“In every match during Double Cash Weekend, you’ll be getting twice the Cash award you normally would for completing typical game actions – not medal-related currency awards – giving everyone a leg up in increasing their Rank for a limited time. That means this weekend is the perfect time to hop on to our Competitive and Co-op Multiplayer modes – whether you’re just a few levels away from the vaunted ‘X’ or this is just your first time online.”
Okay, now let’s dissect exactly what they mean by double money weekend:
1. “In every match during Double Cash Weekend, you’ll be getting twice the Cash award you normally would for completing typical game actions.” Does Naughty Dog even know the difference between points and money? Nope, apparently they do not because at the end of the round your money is NOT, I repeat NOT DOUBLED.
2. “not medal-related currency awards” Hmmm that’s funny because I have mathematically proven that at the end of my Gold Rush rounds the Medals that you receive ARE the ONLY thing that IS DOUBLED. Oh ND, you guys can’t even get this right can you?
3. “That means this weekend is the perfect time to hop on to our Competitive and Co-op Multiplayer modes” At first I thought to myself, “Well, it must just be for Competitive Modes because my money sure as hell wasn’t doubled in Gold Rush.
Here is the only thing that is being doubled: Medals (at the end of the round)
Funny that Naughty Dog took the time to say “not medal-related currency awards” and it is IN FACT the only thing that IS being doubled. I don’t thing Naughty Dog could fail more at a double cash weekend if they tried…

I am still awaiting word on how the $ is “doubled” in Deathmatch because I am not able to play that for more than 5 seconds without getting “kicked” (yet another thing ND screwed up). I guess it’s because I have wireless, but it is pretty good wireless at 100% most of the time.
And if arne even tries to argue this then I have completely lost all faith in ND’s staff and management. Double Cash Weekend is suppose to be...what is that called...you know...that one thing...oh yeah,

Why would Naughty Dog SPECIIFICALLY mention medals as NOT being the doubled variable when it is, in reality, the ONLY thing that is doubled at the end of the round.

I appreciate your passion for your opinion, but medals are NOT doubled at the end of the round. In deathmatch, for example, the only cash awards that are doubled are kills and winning the match.
Please do not deliberately mislead our readers.
Then please explain to me how I am able to now get $47,000 and $48,000 a round on Gold Rush on a regular basis when before my highest was $45,500.
And no, it is not kills because I played Survival and got 165 kills and still only got $42,500 like I normally do. Please stop acting like you know everything when you don’t even play the game to find out what you are saying is even true.
Can you guys AT LEAST admit that this is NOT a double money weekend. Everybody that I have played with feels like they were screwed over with your so called “double” $. As far as I can tell, medals are the only reason that I can get these new high scores now in Gold Rush. So please, EXPLAIN something to me for once instead of just saying that you are right and I am wrong. PLEASE.

If you want to tell me to stop “deliberately” misleading your readers then maybe you should learn English. I know that double money sounds like a pretty broad term, but I know you can get it right after a few tries…
Also, I have a friend that rarely plays (level 20) and he played Gold Rush with us and I told him to go around after he got 150,000 points (the point limit as you MIGHT know) and do nothing but pick up treasure for the Treasure Finder Medal. I told my other teammate to not pick up any treasures and I didn’t either. At the end of the round he got $49,500!
I asked him if he got a lot of other medals and he said not really, just a lot of Treasure Finders.
Funny how someone that RARELY plays Gold Rush comes on and DESTROYS my old record of 45,500 on his first go.
Also, he only got 32 kills...(not that it matters)
From then on, I just played like I normally do and MAGICALLY I am able to get, on average, $47,000?

Just more proof that all you guys focus on is Deathmatch/Competitive.
