UNCHARTED 2: Among Thieves celebrates Halloween with a Double Cash Weekend—starting NOW!

Halloween is only one day away and we decided we wanted to do something special for our fans over the weekend. We’re happy to say that this weekend is also our first ever Double Cash weekend in UNCHARTED 2: Among Thieves. The Double Cash weekend starts now (Friday, October 30, 2009) and continues until Monday, November 2, 2009, at 11:00 AM PST.

In every match during Double Cash Weekend, you’ll be getting twice the Cash award you normally would for completing typical game actions – not medal-related currency awards – giving everyone a leg up in increasing their Rank for a limited time. That means this weekend is the perfect time to hop on to our Competitive and Co-op Multiplayer modes – whether you’re just a few levels away from the vaunted ‘X’ or this is just your first time online.

A bunch of Naughty Dogs will also be playing this weekend, so be on the lookout for the red Naughty Dog paw next to our PSN ID in the game and feel free to say hi, ask any questions or shoot at our characters.

Stay sharp! There might be something spooky around the next corner…

I’m a GIRL, who loves playing Uncharted and is on level 34 in multiplayer. PLEASE, add a Female Villain skins, as more often than not, I’m a Villain in the game and dressed as a BOY..... Boys have a chose to pick a girl skin when they are Hero and they do, all the time! But girls only have boy Villain skins to pick!! Please help & look forward to hearing from you. yh i left an elimination game because someone hit me from a distance and killed me so i left the game fast so i didnt see the $40,000 that you lose so i lost that and why do you have to wait so long just to leave the game?

Agreed! I had the same thing happen to me as well. Very annoying!

I don’t mind that people lose cash over quitting early. But losing cash because of getting kicked and/or losing your connection is really frustrating.

Yeah I have to agree with this just got a new isp and it keeps droping my connection I’ve lost 120,000 so far plus countless levels through no fault of my own, hope this is dealt with as this game is awesome and so far this is my onlt fault with it, please sort it out ND

love the zombies and skeletons, but got logged out of psn..when i restarted, got message saying i’d quit the game and would be penalised $140,000 dollars and dropped 2 ranks! why, it wasnt my fault, i didnt quit on purpose! PLEASE FIX THIS!

Only prob with those fixes is the fact it takes a dunes age to get connected back to the game. Lately I get initialization manager and syncing errors and others I cant recall at the moment. I’m not sure what good option 3 offers. So we can talk in XMB but still cant play game?

Read it again, NOT DOUBLING MEDALS. In survival, you get $1000 for completing a round as opposed to $500, in death match $500 per kill as opposed to $250.

Its the other way around for me. Shows me as 39 at ND but 40 in the game lobby.

Also the players met is not fixed for me.

Though I’ve not had a connection error on my end that cost me the 40k or rank, when me and my friend ae playing co-op custom game, his connection fails and he is docked for something out of his cotrol. This isn’t fair or right for so many reasons already listed and should deffinately be rethought. I do however appreciate getting a little cash for the work done when someone does piss off on you. Please serioulsly make the distinction between leaving or true connection error.

I’ve noticed quite a lot of players doing the same thing online last night we had two players in our TDM game stood idling making the game 2 V 4

But non the less Idling around works till the end of the game without taking a loss to your own profile.

ND everything is near perfect, but can you please fix the character freezing? I’m running around and then I all of a suddenly stop moving, and I notice some people complain about it also and it’s very annoying

Why penalize us? The game as enough problems with matchmaking and their connection problems, this just makes people pissed.

Also why 40,000 cash taken away? That’s equivilent to 6 games of deathmatch for an average player. Not worth it.

Well i was shocked to see at first that the skins were the same for all games then i came on and read this.

Not a problem though loved the holiday specific changes - Sega and Phantasy Star Online used to do this for easter, halloween, christmas and it was always very very welcomed !

Please keep this kind of holiday change up it makes a nice change to an already great game.

this is just a simple request but i want the lvl 60’s to be more powerfull.. the are 60 u know , thhey should have like unlimited ammo and shit ! and i want the heroes to have more characters, many ppl hate to playt as skeletons

The extras and add-ons , tweaks, etc… This game and your team are un-freakin amazing, great job. Survival 1 player offline would be a great extra add-on cause I’m sick of the quiters, I’ll stay to the end no matter what. So, penalty is a huge plus from me. I think the time penalty should be longer, if someone has to go they could just quit to desktop XMB and the quiters can wait like 5-10 min or maybe 1 hour. Anyways I shouldn’t complain cause I love the game and find it hard to take the disk out of the console.

I’m disappointed there was no abominable snowman, but can’t win em all I suppose. Its so refreshing to play a game that dosen’t make me angry enough to smash something after 3 consecutive matches like Gears of War. Gears handles like a shopping cart and the weapons are so unbalanced its disgusting, whereas this game is the exact opposite.

I just bought the deposit booster, did it before double cash weekend, figured it wouldn’t work, so didn’t use it. Now I’m using it in the “normal” game in deathmatch, and it doesn’t seem to do anything.

So what good is the deposit booster, it doesn’t earn more money.

Naughty Dog, whoever is working on the online support, they need to fix the servers so players (like me) don’t get penalized when they have connection issues. Bumped down from a lvl 15 to a 13 because of my PS3 freezing isn’t fair.

hey ND you think you are gonna do other killer events like this on other holidays or special occasion because it would be live if you keep doing stuff like this once in a while. it would keep making attractions. also how about new add on contents are you going to make that like in the spring time.

Penalize me for quitting? Drop me from level 23 to level 21! Thats like 2-3 hours wasted time playing the game I paid 60 bucks for. this is the stupidest thing I have ever seen! People have to quit from time to time

ciao a tutti! io sono stato penalizzato ben 3 volte togliendomi 120.000$ a causa dell’errore di connessione e nn perche ho abbandonato volontariamente il mach.. prego a tutti di lamentarsi di questa assurda penalizzazione e chiedere di riavere i premi ingiustamente tolti.. questo gioco incomincia gia a stufarmi e se nn aggiusteranno i gravi handicap credo che lasciero definitivamente uncharted2.. ciao ragazzi e buon “divertimento”

yeah,i aint gonna play Uncharted 2 anymore.the reason that finally popped this thought was this here: yesterday i played a match,then it turns out everyone on the enemy team fights cowardly and i decide to quit.next day i decide im bored and fire up U2 multiplayer and then that message talking about the penalty with 40000 and skill lowered come.so my point is,do the game companies enforce penalties so that the enemy team can score cheap kills and have fun on the expense of others?to make sure that “ok,im coming up to diner” and just because of that penalty we are supposed to leave our vulnerable characters there in the game?we dont quit for fun,we quit because we have more important things to do,not avoid getting penalties.you fix this with who gets penalized or im selling this game permanently on ebay...or the trashcan.

Hi...I have a problem with my gold not updating (my overall)...I earned like 50k today perhaps more and it only registered in my level system...but I didn’t receive the gold...any thing you can do for me...I’ll get back to you guys later when I confirm the problems

Yeah, thanks for ruining the game Naughty Dog with the lame quitting fine. I have a pretty bad connection and get regular connection errors. Now that multiplayer is totaly worthless if I lose 40k every 4 or 5 games.

Is it me or is the matching both unfair and quite bad. I’ve been waiting for 50 mins now and i have no match, and the last match i played was with a lvl 1 and 8. I want to play with people around my level who know how to shoot, pick up the treasure and throw the treasure. Is that too much to ask for?

ND why don’t you listen to anyone who has posted on the 40K penalty issue. I have just lost 80k in the space of 10 minutes due to other people leaving the match and being signed out of PSN. This is not the first time this has happened since the update either.

Why you insist on sabotaging such a great game is beyond me. You are punishing people who are unvoluntarily leaving matches through connection errors, characters freezing, respawning issues and a whole host of other problems I’m sure other players can list. The current update still sees these issues as the player voluntarily leaving the match which is stupid.

I feel you Arne don’t see this as a problem, after reading the PSN Blog I found one comment you did answer.

The problem is if this happens to me in a match I either have to wait until someone else quit or quit myself. Either of these options results in a 40K penalty. How does ND see this as a fair.

I’m so angry that you are ignoring all the people commenting on this issue and that you have ruined such a good multiplayer experience.

I don’t feel like playing anymore due to the fact you spend so much time collecting the money, only for it to be taken away for no good reason. Sort it out Naughty Dog before people stop playing your game altogether.

probably gonna sell the game cuz of penalty i left at party up menu and guess what i got penalty, thanks for a waste of £50, how can such a good single player game have such a bad MP, i liked it so much i platinumed in first week I’ve had my ps3 for 2 years and have no other trophy’s over 60% ( for a game ) good thing there’s no MP trophy - because i definitely wouldn’t get that, MP would be good if you just did something like FIFA with DNF percentage and in match making put ppl with higher DNF against each other and people with lower DNF against each other, i have never had such a small reason to dislike a game, I’ll just have to keep playing CO-OP ( amazing game )

hey wtf i was looking at my career stats and it says my most favorite weapons are and rpg-7 and a m4 and then i had a look at weapons and it said i only killed 3 people with an ak47 and thats a load of bull becasue i have got more thanthat also im rank 21 cos i saw on my last match i just rnaked up then i went offline cos i was getting bored also y do u say we update games while we are playing like the rnage of a weapon thats * shit if a guy kills me with a shtgun from 1 mile aay i don’t excpet the be right next to him and he survies my shotgun in the face i mean how is that fair also why update while playing if i get used to a weapon feel in a paticluar game then u chnage it well that dosn’t help alot does it also why if i have gold weapons equipied i can only equipt ammo if its a gold weapon as well if its normal i drop my gold ak 47 and pick up a normal one.

also why when im running around i get grenanded but sometime i can’t hear it beep or anything i would hear it coming throught the air at least i wouldn’t mind if i heard it. its the fact that i was never giving the chance the et away and why is it when i hit some there able to hit meand hit me again so we kill each each other

i just had a connection error then i got the 40K penalty.. I am at the low levels.. after the penalty, i ultimately went down 3 levels.. why not just penalize leaving players with the 90 second hold.. I never leave a game, but my connection sometimes freezes.. i think the penalty is unfair and harsh…

we just played a level in naughty dog and we found a hacker his acount is sid004 we have the video uploaded but i wanted to upload mine to dont know how but one of my online friends is gona upload it too gauntletz and stryder and matt and me murderking he basicly dies in the video then his screen goes blacnk for the whole match and his starts grabbing us from acros the map hitting us with a shottty from across the map he got a 15 kill streak in the video you will see just folow his guy his screen turns black then he starts getting all these crazy kills its ridiculous we want something to be done about this because of him our rank lowered and we think its unfair for some1 to be hacking like this especial since they came hasnt even been out for like a month please either ban his ip or get rid of his acomplishments in the game watch the video and ull c and please get back to us my online acount is murderking thank you

I know you guys are probably too busy setting up the new playlists and stuff, but seriously, please sort out the matchmaking system! It’s really making me start to hate the game. I always try and stay off these kind of bandwagons but now I’ve gotta say something.

Every math i play I’m teamed with 4 players ranked 1-30, versus 5 players ranked 30-50 and so on...how can this be fair??! If my team can’t put up a good fight how can I or anyone else for that matter? Please don’t make me hate my favourite game of the year so far!!

So I know this isn’t related to the topic (I would prefer deathmatch variations but know it’s not gonna happen. crushing also sounds interesting.) but when i try to look at my stats online it only shows my stats from the beta run. Is this happening with everyone, or is it just me? Is there something I can do to fix this? It’s not a huge deal, I just like to know where I stand.

I will jump on the “Stop punishing me when I get disconnected” bandwagon.

The game getting stuck on loading screen, random PSN disconnections, occasional freeze...other things out on my control and BAM, hours of game time wasted because I lose my cash.

It is killing the game, none of my friends play anymore because of this. I won’t be playing much longer either.
