WGA opts for vidgame sequels - Variety
Friday morning, Variety posted the first report I could find of the Writers Guild of America awards for videogame writing. We’re glad to see UNCHARTED 2 and our own Amy Hennig, make the list this year. You would recognize the other nominees as some of the bigger titles that came out this year—Assassin’s Creed II, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, Wet and X-Men Origins: Wolverine. The WGA will announce the winner on February 20, 2009 during their awards ceremonies. Congratulations, Amy!

I can’t say we’re disappointed at all to find out that Uncharted 2 won 10 awards from IGN, including Overall AND PS3 nods for Best Action Game, Award for Visual Excellence, Award for Excellence in Sound. Our game also picked up PS3 Best Multiplayer game, PS3 Game of the Year and Overall Best Story—we lost out to the as deserving inFAMOUS for the PS3 Best Story, congrats Sucker Punch! And if you haven’t seen it yet, the Overall Game of the Year, um, video, is er, very interesting.

Wired’s Game|Life blog recaps the official December 2009 NPD results statements by all three console manufacturers and publishers. In the statement from SCEA, it’s revealed the Uncharted 2 has surpassed 1 million units in North America, in just a few months. We gave early warning that the skill levels in the “Ranked” playlist were going to be reset this week in an attempt to address an issue. We try extremely hard to make sure any solutions don’t impact our players and our community, but sometimes there’s no other way to make a necessary change that will ensure our game is fun (and worthwhile) to play for months and years to come.

I’m having the Error Syncing Player Data problem too, but that doesnt mean im going to sit here and insult ND or stop playing, to me Uncharted 2 is no doubt worth the wait for an update to fix this problem

Hi Naughty Dog was wondering if your saw my comment on one of the other posts asking if you could lower the amount needed to get to leval 60. PS how soon will you be announcing the DLC for Uncharted because i was thinking maybe they could be a few more maps based on the first on like maybe one of the jungle levals if not maybe the jungle from Borneo or maybe a map called The Train Yard if you could spare the time to leave me a response on what you think on the things i have said i would be really grateful.

hi everone ..... can any1 solve my problem : I can’t play uncharted online for 3-4 days ... i can acees to multiplayer but when i do matchmaking it take 4 ever to find ppl !!! + It say all my friends play single but actually they play online....

hi! got the same problem, i guess you have the version .532 on your ps3, my mates had .533 and i could not explain, why my version is still .532, deinstall the latest patch (should be 1.03) and then start agein, it worked on my system!

ive deleted game data and reset the router and all that. Didnt help any. Its not a problem that can be fixed by the players I believe cuz I got the problem out the blue and it never went away after I got it.

I ONLY have i request....will you please do something about the diabolical matchmaking pairing system....as in i/you get paired with a level 10, 4, 5, 8 and myself 53 against a 60, 56, 58, 50, and a 52.... like c’mon i like a challenge but not a match knowing you’ll lose from the get go. And this happens WAY to often!. Just saying there must be something you can do about that.......Like one of Naughty Dogs presidents said in a video about U2s MP (before U2 came out) “its about a fair challenge”......???? Emmmm???? yeah…

4 get that its fun when its mixed up ill admit it sucks to get a team with a bunch of noobs but if u just get out at the next game ull in up on a team of high ranks a besides it dont matter wat rank u are it just matter how u play.

Hey theres thousands of players that cant even play the game anymore cuz of constant error synching data and other things that pop uo out of nowhere and never go away after you keep gettin them. I havent been able to play for a week so far since I kept getting those different types of error messages after they reset everyones rank. Everytime a patch comes a few hundred people can no longer play the game, this is whats happening to the players online so the numbers are going to get lower. It may not seem like a problem now but when theres only 500 players online then what? Please find out the problem to this and fix it soon

“error in syncing data” If you get this message try checking your NAT type within your router setting every time that I get that message I just Power cycle my router and test my PS3 connection (Network settings) that seems to work for me. Also check your Port codes in your router.

NO prob any time I have the info because im a IT in training. I’ve found that 9 times out of ten video game connection problems a generaly due to the wrong NAT config. If any ever wants to play a match or two hit me up. PSN name Dark_rECOIL

ND, i havent been able to play online for a couple of days now, it’s torture not being able to play online with my friends but the good news is that i’ve been keeping myself busy with the single player, im on my 5th play threw and it still isn’t boring or dry, so plz find some way to fix this error syncing player data problem

i think it would be cool if there were maybe some coop missions from drakes fortune
id also like the nepal warzone to be a map, along with borneo.
u should make a special game type with mp40, the german pisol, and crossbow
these are some suggestions, i dont expect you to make them for me
great game, ill buy anything u guys dish out

This past holiday weekend, a number of matches have frozen where we are stuck on the choose a map/game mode: it says “choose your boosters...starting in 1”. Randomly, the game would freeze up when changing clan tags. I encountered both freeze/crashes about six times.

As always, I’m thankful for your efforts and delivering such a great game. Cheers!

Umm arne I have been having some problems lately. Like when i try to jump on something i just die and it says i killed myself?? or like at the lost city the little place were the desert sniper is when i try to jump out i kill myself. anyone having simmiler problems

Holy Crap people are Freaking out (understandably with the connection problems) but seriously relax DEMANDING stuff. DLC will come. People really have to stop and see that its ND first MP outing and its a 3 person shooter the hardest MP to make.....So for the first time its awesome....(If you played gears 2 you would know what im talking about that SHIT has the WORST MP period and trust me i was a HEAVY gears1 player)
So relax DEMANDING stuff ...
Oh and for those americans that cry about not getting rika and pinkerton skins SHUT UP yous got a chance to win the Fortune Hunter U2 edition the rest of the world didnt and in US U2 came out 3 days before anywhere else and worst we in Ireland didnt even get a chance to purchase the limited edition only the standerd for us :^(

Hi again just wanted to add to my previous post and be a little more precise. My ps3 freezes when i’ve had one game then it goes back to the finding players to replace people that drop out and i try to change my clan tag hope that helps love the game keep up th good work.

I’m really tired of the “dry hump” celebration/taunt. Is anybody else? As usual, a few players have chosen to abuse it over dead bodies with much vigor, sometimes “double-teaming” a corpse. What they say while doing it just further illuminates their maturity level.
Please remove or at least limit that celebration/taunt to only one time/game; I think it just takes away from an otherwise very enjoyable game.

I remember specifically cuz your name is oldschool99 and i said into the mic how u gon have a oldschool name with 99 next to it? dats not old school my 1976 chevy malibu is old school. I know I humped u repeatly in that match too lol and the double teaming u talkin bout was prolly when me and my friend I partied with started a hump fest on your body. Its fun and not gonna stop so get over it. U think it takes away from an enjoyable game but I think it adds to an enjoyable game. Jus dont get killed so much and you wont get see a skeletons pelvic bone thrustin your screen so much ^_^.

people have stop complaining about the error sync, just make a new accout until they fix it. You might be saying to yourself “ OMG IM LVL 52 IT TOOK ME SO LONG TO GET THERE IM NOT STARTING AGAIN” . Listen dont try to rank up so hard or too fast because once you hit lvl 60 there will be nothing to do, All you get is 2 new skins and no cool boosters. AND Arne please update this site more and we want to hear about the DLC. Can we get it this month? One more thing Arne, Is it possible to add new stuff into the store??? I got so much money and theres nothing else to buy( I already have enough money for my future boosters and the 2 lvl 60 skins) so please make us look forward to saving up for something.

Can someone please help me , since yesterday , i been play uncharted 2 online multiplayer , but everytime into a few mins or seconds into the game , i always get disconnected ( connection error !!!! )
Why is this happening? Is it because of the server or what? It has caused me to lose more than 200,000 points !!!!! All my hardwork and effort has gone to waste. Is anyone facing the same problem? I’m from singapore , people in the same region has the same problem? Someone please reply to me , i need answers . Yes, you are not the only one. A few players got this problem since christmas. You can play 100 games in a row, but sometimes you will get kicked out almost every single game. Read a little bit the comments, they are talking all about that. I think it’s the ND-Server, something is * up. But don’t worry, they are working hard. Thats for sure. If you get kicked out all the time, reset your ps3 and switch off the router (or whatever you got). Start again, it might help sometimes. Cheers

Hey Naughty dog,
How about a predator skin for multiplayer games?
Predator perk - It could be activated by standing still for 30 secs. Blends the player into the background but can be countered by the situational awareness perk. This would make assassin kills a lot more interesting.

I was very happy when I saw the info on DLC on a few webisites then saw the pictures and then checked this site and realised it was a lie.. if it was true then this site would of been the first to mention it.

Take note ND, it just goes to show how much people want DLC. Everyone knows DLC is planned but any more info would be amazing. I think everyone else would agree!

Hey Naughtydog. I see lots of people complaining about errors, which is sad for them, but i just wanna let u know: this is the best game i’ve ever played (no joke) and ive played hundreds of games, almost a thousend. the single player is superb, and the multiplayer is just so much fun! i got this at release and still havent put it down. maybe when God of War 3 comes out i’ll put it down for a month, but o my god, this game is incredible. u guys are awesome for making this! cant wait for uncharted 3! (i have become a fanboy)

Hey ND first of all i wanna say what an awesome and amazing game you guys have created. I’m always playing online when i can because i work alot. I’m currently level 46 and my friends have told me that it takes ages to get to 51 and above so is there any chance of decreasing the amount of money needed to rank up? Secondly if the game is a tie how about something like sudden death maybe an extra 5 mins or so?
There is a rumour on a website that there is DLC comin end of Jan (Jap only for that can you inform us why?) and more DLC in Feb and April which i’m really excited about that but i’m waiting for you guys to announce it officially or just confirm its true.
Uncharted 2 rules over COD MW2 anyday, Love the multiplayer and good luck for future projects.

Wow I just read something about new uncharted 2 DLC going to Japan first!? On jan 28th they are getting skins from Killzone, Resistance, Infamous plus more! Then on feb 25 they are getting 2 new maps one of which is based on “the ruins from Uncharted 1 plus 5 more skins then..... on april 15th they are adding new co-op multiplayer plus 4 new maps and 5 new skins! My only question to arne is.... WHY IS JAPAN GETTING IT FIRST? Here is the link.

A big congratulations to all the team naugthy dog you do a great job and you’re listening when we add content, but it’s great that there will have a ranking of ratio K/D because the best players are one with a ratio K/D high and they are not highlighted on the classification, classification of ratio K/D will be great because the top of the table (number of victims) are not necessarily of good players and they are put forward. have the best player to be highlighted by a new category in classification under heading “ratio K/D they deserve a lot more. It will also be nice to see the trophy competition and coop of his friends through the game I hope that is mail to capture the attention of the great team naugthy dog ^^.

The new DLC info leak is seriously disheartening. This means that until the second DLC comes out, almost a fifth of the available skins will be from foreign stories. Surely ND should be giving me more of the native characters for free and then charging people for the privilege of sullying my Uncharted experience with characters I’m not familiar with from games I never played?

Although I may eventually get used to it, having Helghast soldiers and such roaming the Lost City will be like having Nathan Drake pop up in ‘Wizard of Oz’… no matter how much you love his story, he simply doesn’t belong.

I’m thrilled to hear about all the new maps and the new co-op coming our way, but I think the decision to allow third-party characters into the Uncharted world is a really, really poor one. It’ll change the entire feel of the game and it’s the first move ND’s made that I am thoroughly disappointed with.

I do hope these skins are real, becuase, even though they aren’t from Uncharted, it could be a great way to get people to buy the game.

Think about it, if someone really loves inFAMOUS, and want’s more Cole or Zeke, but is burned out on the game, can play as Cole or Zeke in a different, but equally great game.

However, I do agree that they should be level locked. 30 for inFAMOUS, 40 for Resistence, 50 for Killzone.

Well i think that it could be a good thing because let’s not forget that this is not the first time Naughty Dog have done somthing like this i mean do you remember Jak X they let Ratchet From Insomniac and Kaeden Osmo Taryn and Ximon from Ready At Dawn also they let in Jak I Jak II and Jak III so it could be real.

OMG I just beat the game on crushing for the 3rd time, in total i’ve played threw the story 6 times, once on very easy, twice on hard, and 3 times on crushing, I play most the time on hard of crushing cause I like a challenge, and the reason im playing it over and over again is cuz online isnt working, still says error syncing player data, ND plaz fix this soon
