The Engadget Show 003 - Engadget
Chris Grant from Joystiq joins the Engadget show to discuss what good this holiday in gaming. Chris starts discussing video games around the 34:00 mark, mentioning that UNCHARTED 2 is his personal pick for the year (to no audience reaction—come on audience!). The rest of this well-produced show, in front of the aforementioned live audience no less, covers all sorts of tech-y things and is well worth the watch.

Bonus Round Episode 310 Part 3 - GameTrailers
Infinity Ward joins Geoff Keighley for this episode of Bonus Round to cover off an all things Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, not to mention the past and future of the studio. When asked about other games that inspire and inform what they do, they mentioned UNCHARTED 2 how both of our studios talked and shared ideas during the development of both our games. We’re always open to talking to other developers and we think this kind of open dialogue can only help all of us make better games, and it’s always nice to hear someone else acknowledge this.

Exclusive: Conan Writing Duo Chart Course For Drake’s Fortune! - Latino Review
The Latino Review posts a (still unconfirmed) report that writing duo Thomas Dean Donnelly and Joshua Oppenheimer are in negotiations to write the screenplay for the UNCHARTED: Drake’s Fortune film, to take over for Kyle Ward, the originally reported writer. Unfortunately we don’t know about any of this or even if it’s true, but we’re really looking forward to see what Columbia and Arad Productions do with the UNCHARTED universe.

New MP map, leaderboards on the way - Naughty Dog
Yes, we’re featuring our own blog here—in case you somehow missed it, we announced that a new multiplayer map would be available, along with some changes to the multiplayer menus such as adding Leaderboards. The new map, “The Fort” was available to everyone for free and was included as part of the mandatory Title Update 2 for UNCHARTED 2.

Be Thankful as Double Cash returns! - Naughty Dog
We also hosted our second Double Cash weekend over the Thanksgiving holiday. While it amused us to no end seeing a team of Doughnut Drake skins take on a team of Doughnut Lazarevic skins in competitive matches, it was less amusing to find out that Medal cash rewards were not being doubled as we expected. We’ve been looking into this issue and we’ll have some more info on this for you soon-ish.

Yeah, Double Cash was completely broke for me the entire weekend. Gutted!

Also, just wondering, but when comments here reach a certain number, I can’t view any of the newer comments...? It’s like there’s a cut-off, as that’s the case both in IE and FireFox. Like fifty new comments could have been added, yet the same post is the last one I can view. It’s weird.

im so pissed at ND for the way they handled at the dubble cash weekend. I pay 64,95 in euros for a game like this and the maker of the game cant even fix a small thing and let the gamers know how the status is of the problem.

They act if nothing is going on. I know ND as a good company that never lets there customers down. They putted in 2 days more dan 9000 poeple down that where waiting for something that wasnt there.

Thanks for this ND.

To be fair, Naughty Dog DID let us know the status of the problem on their blog update: they were researching the problem and will tell us when they have a solution. Plus, we still got double cash for every kill, so the Double Cash weekend worked just as well as the previous one did.

I mean things like having much less life. This is one if the biggest problem on the multiplayer. I feel frustrated when I need a nearly-full AK47 reload to kill a single guy.

Also, they can quit the boosters (excepting Honor Medals( to make things harder.

And yes, I want a Deathmatch variant like this!

ya double cash waz a sham. didint work for 1000 plus ppl. also why are we limited to 50000$ per match????? after lv 50 it takes milions i mean milions to level up im lv 53 and it takes 3 milion to lv up. if i have boosters on they are pointless. what is the point in unlocing the boosters? if ur limited to 50k a match? wtf? fix that fast.

Double money weekend worked for me, I think it was dodgy on friday but later that night it was fine, it had me addicted all weekend and I’ve been stuck playing it ever since so thanks!

Also I too would love a Plunder Only playlist. I love playing Plunder so much but I hate the other three objective based games, so I only have a 1 in 4 chance of playing Plunder. I’ve only played about 4 Plunder matches since the day Uncharted 2 came out, I don’t want to run the risk of being bored senseless with King of the Hill or Turf War trying to find a Plunder game.

Plunder only in next update? Please? ^_^

Really only 4 plunder matches? I’ve had the game since release day and I have played ton of plunder. I play all competitive modes to keep it fresh. As for the double cash did not work for me. If it had I would have made over $1 million Oh well…

I have to admit that I was extremely disappointed over not receiving double cash for medals nor getting any updates about the glitch. On the other hand, I do understand it was a holiday weekend and most of the staff *should* have been spending time with their families. But guys (and gals), it’s been days since you’ve been back in the office and not a word about it—no apology, no explanation, no good will gestures, no toaster oven or gift certificate. Is that acceptable?

Honestly, a few choice words would go a long way in placating the disgruntled and it makes for good customer relations. You don’t have to be perfect; you only need to own up with things go wrong. Sound fair?

PS: I meant to say, not a word apart from this post. “Soon-ish” ought to be “now-ish”, in my opinion. For whatever that’s worth. Oh, and the penultimate sentence should say, “… own up WHEN things go wrong.” I’ve played so much MP over the last week that my fingers are exhausted.

Not that the Leaderboards mean much, since they only backdate to last Friday, but my number of kills has now just gone up by fifty-seven - the same amount of kills as my last two games, meaning I’ve missed out on a bunch of kills from earlier, like about a hundred and odd! This is just ridiculous. Has this happened to anyone else?

question for all. i played online no problem till today. nothing changed to my conections or my internet. all of the sudden i try to log in and i get some errors. error getting ticket, error downloading config file. error synching levels? what should i do? like i said all is ok on psn i can play other games online go to psn online download stuff. its just uncharted. so any ideas? i tried log in out. disconect, reconect, thanks

pluder only sounds great iam nervous about the less health . i just thought the ak 47 should be stronger not everything. and by now i think were happy the way it plays now. but i quess we will see. MORE SKINS MORE SKINS MORE SKINS 1 MORE TIME MORE SKINS. skins skins skins

i dont like the crushing health at all ... its a completely different game, ruined for the weekend. please just make a playlist and NOT entirely like this. I have friends that are gonna buy ps3’s and uncharted2 just cause they love the multipayer. these friends are xbox owners that play halo religiously and im sure they’ll not buy it if it becomes a modern warfare2 camp fest.

Hi Naughtydog i just wanted to ask if you could remove th $40,000 fine that you recieve if you don’t finish a match.
The reason is that everytime i get a connection error and i get kicked from the game i recieve this fine. Hopefully you can do something about it.

ok so i can post here no were else whats up with that. crushing health was awsome hope you keep it on all games. it better more realalistic. 1 more FREE LEVEL FOR CHRISTMAS I HOPE ??? THAT WOULD BE 2 AWSOME THAN A MAP PACK IN THE NEW YEAR 4 MORE FOR 14.99 SOUND GOOD?

As a games reviewer I’d like to simply air a few thoughts - especially with regard to the ‘$40,000 fine’ and the subsequent ‘skill level’ decrease.
I, like many others, am becoming increasingly frustrated with being fined for ‘leaving’ the game.
Am I doing this on purpose? No. On every single occasion I have sat watching the same screen, listening to the same music (which after five minutes does become VERY annoying) while the game connects. I fly through the level selection and player search part but when I come to actually play the death match game… it freezes.
I’ve been fined $160,000 now which is leading to me very nearly filing Uncharted 2 in the black bin liner.
Great game, but - as with an increasing number of ‘multiplayer’ boasting titles - flawed.
I would urge you to ditch this fine and skill level decrease before you push so many people away from the title that there is no-one left to play the multiplayer games.
All you’re doing is pushing those people who want to play it away.
For the record my internet connection is fine. Any other title works great online.

First: You guys are awesome and your game is the best game i ever played
But now im really pissed off. I live in Chile, where internet connections are really expensive and bad. Becasue of this, i have a lot of troubles to log in PSN, connect to multiplayer, and then, to find a match. Ussulay i have to play at 2Am to get in a match, cause is easier at that time. But a lot of times, when im playing, the conncetion goes off and i cant finish the match. I am not blaming you for this, its not your fault, its my connection fault. But 3 times it has happen to me that i get the 40.000$ and level penalty for leaving the matcht due to connection truble.
And now im really pissed, becouse thants to this im stuck in level 31 and i cant continue.
I think its good to have the penalty, but please delete it when if the abandon is becaues of connection troubles, and only punish people when they voluntary leave the match, please.
