New MP map, Leaderboards on the way
The Thanksgiving holiday is nearly upon us and we’ve cooked up a little something at Naughty Dog to give thanks to all our fans. We’re pleased to reveal that, as part of an update to UNCHARTED 2: Among Thieves later this week, a new Multiplayer map will be available for all players at no cost. That’s right, the first downloadable game content we have made available will be FREE as a gesture of appreciation to all our fans!
The new map is called “The Fort” and is a throwback map – it’s based on the “Fortress” chapter of UNCHARTED: Drake’s Fortune. The Fort is a long rectangular map with wide open spaces and excellent flank routes. Can’t take on the enemy head on? Take the tunnels into the basement to get behind the opposing team. There is a shotgun in the center of the map, but look out for people climbing up from below to pull you to your doom. Pay attention to the side room in the crypt, there is an RPG that is ripe for the taking.
“The Fort” will be available in all Competitive Playlists and the Co-op Arena Playlist!

In addition, we’ve added a couple new features to the Multiplayer menu – Leaderboards and a player card. You will be able to check out how you stack up against your friends or where you stand on the Global stats in the following real-time Leaderboards:
- Competitive Wins
- Co-op
- Kills
- Money
As you hop from match to match, the new player card will provide you with a instant snapshot of your vitals: level, competitive wins, kills, money, co-op points and your current booster loadout. More screenshots of the Leaderboards and the player card are in our Flickr gallery.
We can’t wait to get all these updates in your hands in the next few days and see what you think.
Oh, and don’t be surprised if that’s not the only delicious thing we’re doing for you this weekend…

This is amazing! Hey, if at all possible could we get a skin for heist Chloe? Oh and how come the only medal that changes when I use deposit is the one for capture? Other than that your game is seemless, amazing, the best game ever made, and I can’t wait for Uncharted 3 (if it is coming.)
Also more “Skins” like why UK get some different characters, I want those 2, really.
ALSO, Medal money should be changed some PULL DOWNS and AFTER-LIFEs ($100 or 200 per) shouldn’t get the same medal money. One is ez ass hell other takes finesse or a NOOB. Also when you pull down someone let the icon be: a hand coming up and a body fall in air or a hand on a shirt not a fist, same as a punch out, Like the rpg or Propane tank a Pull down should have it’s own icon.
Those are little things but would be appreciated. This game is made for “SMACk TALKing” PULL DOWN icon would be awesome like the BBQ icon let everyone know he got YANKED!!

i’d describe it as FANTASTIC!… you guys in naughty dog have REALLY made an impact in the game industry with this uncharted 2, now everyone just can’t talk about PS3 or action-adventure games without mention uncharted 2… is awesome that you already started with the downloadable contents, an i was even more surprised that it’s gonna be for free...it’s great!!! naughty dog should do something about when you get a connection error and you lose money and your rank is lowered.i didnt do anything wrong and this happens. it sucks! please do something naughty dog!!

Hey ND can u add somemore charecters like charecters from Uncharted 1 EX. Eddy Raja and the download could be for online and Single Player
it would be awesome if i could play it.. iv’e only got the chance to play three times since Friday and you can only play it in all competitive mode i wanted to play it in objectives i hate getting stuck playing 15 minute sniper and pistole matches and i don’t even get to play the map i want?? getting this map is getting to be like winning the lottery… (almost impossible) help ND help

I love you Naughty Dog!!! You guys rule!!! I’m serious!! It’s not often developers give any DLC away for free but even if you charged for it I would buy for sure. You have made my favorite game of all time and I can’t wait to try the new map!! I’m also really pumped for the update and the double cash weekend. Forget shopping on Friday, I’m staying inside and collecting double cash!! I have to work on Saturday and Sunday so I’m going to soak it up on Friday. The Doughnut characters idea is genious!! Awesome job Naughty Dog!!! I can’t wait to see what you guys do next!!!!

1. I am glad that you are letting people use Doughnut Drake since only losers will reach $60 million.
2. So are these player cards going to be accurate? As “accurate” as your stats on this site?
3. How long did it take you guys to figure out real time stats? Because I doubt you guys went from always wrong to up to the minute correct…

Great news, really! But nd, this is offtopic but CAN you do something about the bugs in the game? In the ice-cave and the village theres some kind of..bug-crap that allows the player to...kill one unnoticed, where ever you are. I dont know where but i got so mad today when one player did this, just wait there, got kills AND then i mailed him after and told him to quit! To start play fare!
Its the same in the icecave, in one of the pillars in the beginning. Very annoying.
Much creds to those skilled players who dont care about grenade launchers/rpg, shotgun/pistol and uses as good as ONLY M-Guns. There are really good players out there, i hope to be like them sometime:).

In the case of co-op doesn’t even need be me who is disconnecting to get punished.

THANK YOU ND. Co-op mode usually gets the short end of the stick, and I’m almost exclusively playing Objectives/Arena matches. I also think there’s a huge lot of potential for co-op missions set in the Uncharted 1 locations.
Finally, I just can’t wait revisiting the Fortress through the Uncharted 2 engine!

I just got done playing this map I got the highest kills with 15
ND thank you SO MUCH for the free map and leaderboards!! I was actually just about to write you this weekend requesting leaderboards and you are already one step ahead (as always!) Thanks for the show of appreciation to your loyal fans with the free map. That gesture does not go unnoticed! Glad to know that after having completed the story 4 times and dropping over 65 hours into multiplayer that you still care!!

i’d love to see more throwback maps of the U-Boat facilities, or even one on the U-boat itself :D with classic character skins. There is so much potential for amazing maps im all excited!!!! i wonder what goodies we will have by christmas

About the Leaderboards: Great!
I’ve always said in my forumposts that we need something like this. And the pics look great on Flickr. It seems a Friends-filter is in as well. Excellent!
Now, one thing that could really make this Leaderboards more interesting is an infinite Survival mode. You know, with limitless rounds. That way, we can compete with our friends (and the world) to survive as many rounds as we can and see which TEAM survived the most rounds!
Awesome. I wasn’t expecting a new map until December. This one will be a breath of fresh, nostalgic air. This game has soo much potential, aside from it’s current awesomeness. Jak and Daxter or Crash skins.

Love Naughty Dog and love that you guys aren’t trying to mooch your fans like a lott of games do. Uncharted 2 is the best game I have ever played and I love the multiplayer component as well. I missed the last cash bonus due to having to much engineering homework that weekend, but I won’t miss the thanksgiving one.

I stopped playing the game since I lost 80,000 points due to connection error. This might bring me back, but just for 3 days. Hard to believe ND is punishing die-heart fans like us for something that’s not even our fault. How fair is it to penalize 99% genuine victims of “connection-error” and “game-freeze” just because of 1% quitters.
To make things worse, sometimes I disconnected after scoring 15-20 kills. Not only I get penalized 40,000 I also end up losing match/medal money. All I could do is avoid playing the game for next 24 hours after my first “game-freeze/connection-error”. Which led me to stop playing the game all together.
Another thing, forcing quitters to stay in the game only ruins our chances of success. They just stand there motionless, easy kill for the other teams.
On a side note big THANX for new DLC, I hope it would include some quick fixes for penalty issue.

Hi naughty Dog ive, personally never commented on ur site. I just wanted to say that i have been VERY impressed with the work you’ve guys have done with uncharted and uncharted 2, I never been a big fan of crash, but I been blown away with Drake and his adventures. I must say with pluses does come some minuses, like a plunder only option, grenade issues, (like when someone rolls away, behind a wall, and been able to throw one while bent over from a blast)and mad gliches. 50k cap is restricting after u get it with 15mins left in a deathmatch lol. The weapons are also fun too, but firing from the hip is toooooooo easy especially with the shotgun!! ive been killed by opponents that shot in a completely different direction and have gotten credit for the kill, not cool...1 more thing, a rocket launcher in the plaza would be ideal, the tank opens it in the village and the train opens it in the train wreck how about the heli open it up in the plaza (just an idea, not trying to impose) i love the game i paid full price brand new no copies or used title lol trust me even tho i had complaints hands down it deserves game of the year i love it i understand computes are gonna have gliches and what not so continue doin wat ur doing i trust you guys have things under control happy thanksgiving THANKS SOOO MUCH FOR THE UPDATES

On another note the penalty thing kinda sucks (happened to me 3 times in a row through no fault of my own) but it doesn’t deter me from playing a great game!
That brings me to my newsflash...IT’S JUST A FREAKING GAME!...I’ve never seen so much whining in my life and I have 4yr old and 6yr old girls. You’d think we were playing for a Miller Lite.

Well said, the times i’ve had to quit were because i had to run an errand or something. And the penalty has really helped with the quitters so much! almost noone quits and it makes for better games when people realize they can’t give up and have to keep fighting, seeing an incredible comeback on the winning or losing side is still fun! everything is ironing out so well, it’s amazing that this has held up so well to COD,
Agreed! Quitters spoil the game and make it less fun to play. People quit because of a bad game just not to get lower stats. But it is unfortunate when there is a bad internet connection and you had nothing to do with it. It has not happened to me yet but maybe it will.
