“The Lab” returns tomorrow, Friday, August 20, with No Power Weapons available in all the matches played during the weekend. “The Lab” runs from Friday, August 20, through Monday, August 23.

Welcome back to our second of “The Lab” in August!

“The Lab” is open from Friday, August 20, at 10:00 AM PDT (what time is that in my city?) through Monday, August 23, at 10:00 AM PDT (what time is that in my city?).

This episode of “The Lab” features Team Deathmatch games, but with all power weapons removed from the selected maps. That means there is no more rushing for the M-32 Hammer at the beginning of the match, no waiting for the tank to come rumbling through The Village to grab the RPG. In the three maps listed below, we’ve removed all trace of the Desert – 5, M4, Dragon Sniper, Moss – 12, SAS – 12, Pistole, RPG – 7, GAU – 19, and the M32 – Hammer.

Yeah, that means the only tools left in your arsenal are the AK47, FAL, 92FS – 9MM, Micro – 9MM and the Mk-NDI grenades.

The active maps for this weekend of “The Lab” are:

The Plaza
The Train Wreck
The Village

We’ll be opening the No Power Weapons discussion thread on the Naughty Dog community forums at about the same time “The Lab” starts this weekend. Be sure to leave your thoughts after you’ve had a chance to play a few rounds!

no sniper rifle is definately a noob gun. if sniper’s your primary weapon, dont be proud of yourself. im a pretty good sniper, but when im in a gunfight with a sniper n00b, i shoot them first and then they kill me its soo annoying and takes pretty much, NO SKILL. especially with people blindfiring now

the sniper is the best gun in the game its something that takes skill because you have to aim it im tiredd of people complaining about something that isn’t a problem. Complain about the melee lag or the shotguns and BTW how is the M4 a Power weapon

I think it takes equal amount of time to kill someone with an AK as it does M4, though. But with the smaller reticle, it’s easier to pinpoint your target from across the map. I can definitely see why they labeled it a “power weapon.”

a.k.a. “The Usual Pistols and Grenades Deathmatch, plus AK, FAL and Micro-9” Lab. Should be a nice change of pace… although I find The Plaza to be a fairly boring map in general - would’ve preferred to play Lost City without the Hammer, Sniper and RPG… but cool nonetheless.

thank you but i HATE shotguners and Situational users they are a pest to the game its usually it high 40’s and the low 50’s that use it and some lv 60+ i personnally use rapid hands and fleet foot and im a 63

Since I am more prone to use my 92FS-9mm and AK-47, I think this lab will be just right for me. don’t get me wrong, I use the power weapons too, it’s just that I’m more apt to use the weapons I spawn with than running around and searching for a power weapon.

I would have like to have seen either different maps or more maps for this lab. nonetheless, I’m content and look forward to this lab.

Hola. Nice Lab, indeed. second to the 2on2. BUT COMPLETELY OFF TOPIC… The cinema system has been screwed up since just before the UDF DLC pack was really, mainly affecting elimination cinema. It won’t play passed the 3rd round. That suck, when you have a really epic 5 round bout, or something cool/ ridiculous/ funny happens in 1 on the later rounds. It used to work 100% perfectly fine in the past. can you please fix this. PLEASE!!!

Train wreck is an underrated, under appropriate map. And a great choice. people complain about not being able to see, like it’s only storming on their screen. every1 has the same disadvantage/ advantage. and it’s the best elimination map, because power weapons are limited. peoples pick maps like lost city or temple ( which I love ) over train wreck, then complain about the guns being used. gimme a break. a good player does something about it, rather then complain the whole match

I like the Train Wreck a lot but other people rarely vote for it so I don’t often get to play it as much as I’d like. My least favorite by far is the Temple. I just find it pretty dull compared to all the others.

That’s something we’re pretty certain we won’t be revisiting—the current proportions of cash earned for the medals favors players who play the gametype correctly. A BoH increase in Plunder could lead to a return where the games were being griefed by folks more interested in cash than in winning the gametype.

yes i understand but im not asking to go back into the old proportions of cash earned. Im only asking to slightly increase the cash earned to more DECENT amount. 5 kills for $150 for Duck And Weave? Come on , thats really too little isn’t it? Its now more than harder to level up cause by only playing deathmatches to get $75000. And to be honest , getting at least 20 kills in a deathmatch IS NOT EASY. Everygame i have to put all my hardwork and heart to it and its very stressful just to get 20 kills. Sorry to be boastful here but to be honest , only very good players like me can get above 20 kills. It is really hard to get 20 kills in a single deathmatch but its not impossible of course. But it’s okay if you guys still dont change the proportions of cash earned. I still love your game and will continue to play it.

that took no skill, the best was either 2v2 or snipers. shotguns dmatch was only good 4some easy longrange BBQs… other than that, it was people who couldnt play unless it was a simple as possible-press R1

i think this is a great lab though there r only three maps. The only one i like is the village. Plaza has very bad spawns and train wreck i cant see the person unless their a skeleton with glowing eyes. Though i beleive the greatest power weapon is two shot of the 92fs and a punch.

i fully agree with u man except for the train wreck part, how can u not see? i think that map is slighty hard because of snow, but not being able to see any1? get your eyes checked or get a new tv coz i can see fairly well on that map and my vision sucks.

wow this is really good now i dont have to go and protect the hammer from those guys that rush for it really good lab i am playing it and cool map selection i like the plaza and village but i love train wreck thanks people never choose that level and i always have an ak-47 and the gun so i am ok with this but i think m4 is not a power weapon but yea we all need to be equal i got it nice job naughty dog oh and double money week please i need it

check this out the only way i would go an pik up this game again is if you added the MAG Factions as the next hero skin pak i mean SVER RAVEN AN VALOR skins would be the cooles GET ON IT an dont take all year

arne, what are the chances of making a regional matchmaking system to help avoid some of the lag issues. Xxuncharted2xX has a very valid gripe, I can’t even remember the last time I played a match where at least one person either lagged out or shot me after I had already been behind cover for 5 seconds, or even punched me from 10 feet away around a corner. I think for the most part the game sucks only when you compare it to what it used to be, as i’m sure anyone whose been playin since the beta will agree.

I agree, a regional setting would improve lag tremendously. I don’t mind playing with international players, but it gets old when you play in the Northern US, and you’re fighting Russians by way of Argentina.

Here are some ideas I have for the dogs
Negative Boosters Only
Power Weapons Only
Double Cash Week in October for Uncharted 2’s first birthday
Make a Doughnut skin for the villians
Have at least 1 Double cash weekend a month
(it may bring more players back)
Put Sir Francis Drake skeleton into MP Heros

Are you serious ? uncharted 2 have the best online dude and i am a fanboy but i know when a game is good if u dont like this game or dont líke the updates just play other game nobody will miss you naughty dog cant fix every problem in one day online will always have some problem and i dont know why people keep talking about 1.04 i dont have problems with that quit complaining someone will always have problems with something in the game me? no i have the game from a long time and i saw every change and still there are minor things to fix best multiplayer online ever if u dont líke or u dont want to play it stop commenting stupid things

its ok to be lag its ok to have some glitchs and glitches in the game, thats the nature of gaming, nothing can be perfect. all games have they’er bad things, BUT. i agree with situational awarness, i mean why in the world would you put something like that =s? what if people are sneaky and sometimes you have to be. i totally desagree with this booster. and nice lab by the way, felt great not worryng about someone having the RPG or the HAMMER

finally no power weapons… well i don´t use them anyway i´m a girl and love the game but i was playing minutes before and is it me or it takes more time to kill i mean i was in a team with a level 60 something (i´m 56)and both at the same time were shooting to other level 60 something and we didn’t kill him until my bullets were gone and change to the pistol what was that?, the same happen with other player i was shooting to his head and didnt die but he shot me like 3 bullets and i die!!!! I really love the game but there are things that must been checked and please i beg remove situational awareness like 90% who use that booster just hide and kill you and the sad thing is they think they’re good thats not fair its an advantage for them and huge, awesome game i love the skins i have all dlc but please make more maps and a doughnut package that would be great, please naughty dog if you don’t listen to the boys at least listen to the girls
