Welcome back to another episode of “The Lab”—kicking off the first of two “The Lab” weekends in July!

“The Lab” is open from TODAY, Friday, July 9, at 10:00 AM PDT (what time is that in my city?) through Monday, July 12, at 10:00 AM PDT (what time is that in my city?).

This episode of “The Lab” is Plunder Pistols Only. This the the Plunder you know and love, or hate (or get farm killed on) but with one, significant, difference—everyone spawns with ONLY a 92FS - 9mm pistol. Oh, and a grenade. All the maps in this Plunder variant for “The Lab” only have 92FS pistols and grenades as available weapon pickups. This puts the treasure bearer and his assailants on equal ground as far as firepower, which is just the recipe needed for some intense, competitive Plunder matches.

The active maps for this weekend of “The Lab” are:

The Plaza
The Sanctuary
Train Wreck
Lost City

We’ll be opening the Plunder Pistols Only discussion thread on the Naughty Dog community forums at about the same time “The Lab” starts this weekend. Be sure to leave your thoughts after you’ve had a chance to play a few rounds.

this may sound like a stupid question, but is there some special way to get into the pistol only multiplayer? I’m logged on and it is past 10am pacific time, we are playing in the sanctuary, but all weapons are enabled. What am I missing?

PS. I liked where you got rid of boosters the last lab that was awesome. However, BoH’s should have been allowed. Consider doing that in the future?

how is it gonna help us with the protectorate medal.its the same thing but u only use pistols WTF.u should remove situational awareness instead of doing this labs and fix the * pull downs. i jump and 1 sec later i get pulled down. * game .sry but u need to fix a lot of things in uncharted

hey arne i think you guys at naughty dog need to ban suspend for 3 months or delete these 3 profiles for glitching in the fort just now. gbritto,ledeesh and Raffa_05. a whole 15 mins they hid in the wall killing me and my teammates from across the screen.i do not tolerate this crap, i have never glitched and should not have to deal with kids getting upset cuz they lose. somebody needs to do something about these kids. they ruined my match and im a serious gamer so it really pisses me off. beat me fair like a man no problem, glitch shoot thru walls and we have a BIG problem. i also think you guys should consider a penalty for the high level people not using negative boosters, i have invalid and half loaded on all the time now earning my kills while they are just triple teamming the real players for the kill/death ratio. its lame and pathetic. the penalty should be like say...12,500,000. that should stop them from acting like children. once they hit level 80 its fine not to have negative boosters cuz you dont need them anymore. i love your game but man this glitching triple team crap needs to stop or im not playing.

Can’t wait. I’ll be sure to log in for a decent amount of hours to check out this playlist. Hopefully it won’t be as much of a kill farmers fest as regular Plunder is.

Too bad that the Plunder changes haven’t been made yet, it would’ve been awesome to play this Lab playlist with those changes.

Dear god, you guys need to get over the Situational Awareness thing. Naughty Dog put it in the game for a reason, and that reason is so people can use it.

Naughty Dog has done a superb job supporting this game, and there is no need to change the boosters, but if anything they need to work on dealing with the whiners. I mean a temporary suspension from online play would do just fine.

Are you saying that the Uncharted 2: Among Thieves multiplayer team is unintelligent? Do you really think they would ever put something in their game that didn’t belong there?

You people have some nerve insulting Naughty Dog’s intelligence like that!

So I’ve been wondering, do you consider yourself a hacker then? I can’t believe you think that you can just come on this website and make things up in a hopeless attempt to gain the attention of others.

Do you not understand that ANYONE can look at your statistics, and observe what boosters you turn to most frequently?

you obviously use sa and are upset that people dont like being cheated by such a noob skill. i used it for the first time at level 50 but bought it at 46 and i only tried it for 2 matches before i saw how pathetic the skill truly is and i have not touched it since then. if you cannot find me by your own skill and kill me then you clearly dont deserve to kill me. in fact i did battle with The legend 10 early this morning and was expecting a real truly skilled player but to my disappointment he was using awareness and no negative boosters...if you all have to use awareness and thats what makes you good or number 1 globally then i pity you. man up and earn your kills the right way. awareness should have been available at level 59 and not before. evasion at 60. yea the skill was meant to be used but not abused kid. thats all i see now are high level noobs using awareness out of fear they will get killed and honestly that makes you guys the real whiners.

are you guys going to be playing this plunder match lab thing. I’m not a big fan of plunder considering the fact that most of the matches in plunder I’m in never get the full 5 captures and it will just go for the 20 minute time period.

Smitty and myself definitely will be getting our “Plunder Pistols Only” time in. Playing at the Sanctuary is great after all. You just get the treasure in the floor and shoot people with your infinite pistol ammo! Those “Rampants” are quite satisfying. I’m really glad that they chose to include the Sanctuary in this Lab.

Keep up the good work Naughty Dog! I’m happy that you took the fate of glitchers into account and gave us the opportunity to shine.

We removed the pistole in the sniper lab—that was an oversight we quickly corrected. In this case, we’re working with the limitations of our gameplay variations. We’re essentially blending the DM pistols only variation in custom matches with Plunder. Pistols only there includes grenades.

I really love plunder, and also the pistol, so this is a game type I really love, i cant play that much, but i think ND should put all labs in a dlc, so people who couldnt play in the lab weekend, still have the chance to play their fav gametype.

is your country not playing in the world cup anymore? then i can understand you find the soccer skins boring, the Netherlands play the final Sunday so i think the Robben-skin is still great, but Sneijder is better.

Hola ND otro fin de semana bueno en el laboratorio que bien que es de pistolas que es una de las armas que mas estoy usando, mi favorita es la escopeta de mano espero que vuelva o dejen el duelo de solo escopetas gracias por todo lo que hacen para este grandioso juego y sigan asi, ahhh una cosa todavia hay gente haciendo trampa en el santuario en la parte de arriba donde esta la M32 Hammer alli no se que es lo que hacen que comiensan a dar vueltas y desaparecen y comienzan a matar sin que nadie los vea, ja ja pero cuando veo que estan en eso los mato antes que hagan la trampa, el otro lugar es en The Ice Cave que tambien todavia hacen trampa por favor traten de hacer algo para que no esten tantos tramposos dañando este juego, por lo menos que se pueda eliminar al jugador tramposo como por votacion de todos los miembros del grupo afectado, bueno saludos y gracias de nuevo.

Arne, is there a psn account where i can sent some videos to that show some glitches you haven’t fixed yet. I think the game would be much better without glitching and I would like to help you find these glitches!
I was playing with some German guys on a certain map (i’m not going to say which one here, but i think you can guess) and each and everyone of them was glitching! I watched the cinema file and now i know how to get into the glitch, i am not going to use it but i think if these guys glitch against other people and they know how to get into the glitch they will use it too.
(sorry for possible grammar mistakes, English is not my first language)

i think of it as cool that theres gonna be pistols only plunder but you think you can add more other types of pistols instead of just the 9-mm automatic pistol like can you add dessert-5 or micro but not pistole and the defender.45

awesome I love this weapon I use it every match with either faster pistol reloading and fleet foot or faster pistol reloading and come get some so I avoid the idiots using SA because im practically giving them a free SA to use although I would love it SO much if you remove the most overpowered and hated booster in the game more unfair than the stupid heartbeat censor in modern camp fare 2 and sadly the great uncharted 2 is becoming just like it :( because there is still SA in this magnificent game just a few issues I have noticed are

* The horrible lag
* Bullets not hitting even though the reticule is on the smack bang
*SA
*Treasure glitch being able to carry it on your back and faster especially with treasure bearer if you would like me to show you just feel free to send a friend request can be permanent or temp don’t mind asking me to show you the glitch
* Useless cover because you still get shot in cover witch is beyond me how bullets can do that in this game
* Glitch’s people who do in private are fine but public is just someone that can’t cheat on life but can cheat on a game a simple way too prevent out of map glitch is to make a invisible border all around the outside of the map so whatever place people go out of map is instant death oh ill laugh so hard at them
* Bans for people with over 100 reports of swearing and proof which will make a 4 day ban so they don’t foul mouth us for fairly killing them
* Lastly put a rewind in cinema and if possible let us record in game for you tube and post just like just cause 2 has.

I know I mentioned more than a few but with these dealt with this game will have tens and thousands of people returning if not nearly the whole community

I love making money in game, but I have nothing to buy… BTW… I think it was semi-sexist to only add Drake Soccer skins & no options for us Gamer-Gurls… Still love you, though, NG!!

I don’t use it all the time I use it so I don’t fall into traps by campers and to make sure nobody gets me from behind, let me make myself more clear(as I didn’t on my last post) ANY booster can be used cheaply, situational just gets cheaply abused more often than others(to the point where I am ashamed to use that booster), but my main point was don’t whine about it.(I am not going to reply again because this is a comment page not a flame war, tho I am also guilty of that.)

Hello NaughtyDog,
I AM SICK OF THIS GAME!! Good game, bad way it turned out. You are always in a party or against assholes. Your teammates TEAM KILL YOU! I mean if you want this to be sub-realistic gameplay then you shouldn’t have allowed team killing. Every update just brings in more terrible lag. I am sorry NaughtyDog and all my fellow MATURE (18-) gamers, this game became a retarded preteen game. I moved on. I went to MW2. I’m not advertising InfinityWard and Activision but I feel it is one of the games where it has not turned stupid. And whoever wants disagree with me go ahead you already know my psn. I will, though, sporadically play this game, but please next time make it a M game. No for TEENS.

Arne I have a suggestion that might benefit naughtydog and the faithful players of this game.
Im still seeing a lot of glitchers playing Uncharted 2. I dont know how to report them or who to report them to, but i have an idea for you to make it easier for us potential reporters. If you have one of your staff that deals with cheaters make a Playstation network ID Just for sending Uncharted 2 Cinema of people that glitch and post that ID on your website for people to keep handy it wll 1. Prove that that person was actaully glitching 2. Make it easier to exploit Where and how in the map they were glitching (for fixing purposes).
Please consider this idea.

Unfortunately for you, there is nothing that you can do to report a glitcher. Which is why glitching runs rampant in Uncharted 2: Among Thieves Multiplayer.

Glitching clearly has never been and most likely never will be a major concern of Naughty Dog. They have much more important things to deal with.

Keep up the good work guys, the glitches are great!
