Rika and Pinkerton MP skins come to North America

We’ve got some awesome news—on April 1, 2010, the Rika and Pinkerton multiplayer skins are on the way to North America! The UNCHARTED: Eye of Indra motion comic bundle, which includes episodes 2, 3, and 4, is also going to be released.

We’re totally not pulling an April Fool’s on you for this one—on April 1, the UNCHARTED: Eye of Indra Bundle is going to be launched on the PlayStation Network store in the US, Canada and Mexico.

Along with it also come the oft-requested Rika Raja and Daniel Pinkerton multiplayer skins!

We’ve been working a long time to bring these over from Europe and we’ve worked closely with SCEA to make sure that we will also make sure all all our fans who have already purchased all three episodes also get the Rika and Pinkerton skins.

For a few months, the two skins were only available in Europe. Now they’re coming to North America. The only way North Americans get them for free is if they already bought all Eye of Indra episodes.

Arne, i respect you as a person that tries to have close contact with his customers. But the way i feel that this is going, is that your are slowly preparing everyone that the FAL is not going to change and that you guys are pretty happy with the way things are right now. You know perfectly to slowly tell everyone the way its gonna be without leaving a painfull damage for the players. but serious, dont talk arround it, tell us whats the deal with all this. the first day i had this game and started playing i noticed the big amount of skills you needed to make a kill, thats what 80% of the poeple loved and made them keep playing. now we are at this point that its all messed up.. why did you guys changed it soo bad, there is nothing left of what it was, it seriously hurts me that something so beautiful gets changed to something so awfull. i gotta agree i try to adapt to the game every day, but its not working, its not the way it was, im open for new things but i started to play the multiplayer because it had something special. the special is gone now.

i seriously tried everything to adapt, everyday i started the game up with a big smile, hoping that it goes better, normally i would allready be doing good because i had the skill to get kills without dying(1.04). now its just praying that you dont get * up from behind by a noob that with the normal update wouldnt make a damn kill.

again, i respect you guys for staying close to the customers, but all those awards you guys won for a game that isnt even the same anymore, you guys dont even deserve it anymore if you think about it.

poeple problably think shut up and play the damn game but this is NOT where i payed 70 euros for.

at last i wanna say: if you tell your customers, that you make the FAL 10% weaker, dont talk bullshit but say its gonna be slower, thats a whole different thing. not that it matters because you guys are doing whatever you want but at least speak the truth.

i hope that its getting better( at the point of 1.04 )

A game with online, especially multiplayer isn’t a fire and forget thing, it’s basically a long-term service, which is one we’ll support. Because of that, theoretically nothing is permanent, especially because we can’t anticipate long-term play styles of players or even what may be uncovered by our player population. As such, I can’t in good faith say, we’re never going to touch ‘X’ thing again, because that may do so in future. So what I can say is that we like how it is “right now.” Which is the truth. That can and may change at any point.

We didn’t change the FAL damage (at least in all the conversations I’ve had with everyone) only the rate of fire.

Arne I am glad Naughty Dog likes how it plays....Cause I know you are the ones that went out and spent your hard earn cash that is in short demand right now to buy the game! Please FIX THE HEALTH back to the way it was....Fix the death lag....Respawn points (which you are doing). Quit spliting Party up group when it is 5 on 5. Your Daily player counts are down....That should tell you something. So I hope you here your fans! Thanks Sean

You do realize those skins were completed and available to PSN Europe 4 months ago right?

They’re also made by different folks in the studio than those who have been working on MP Title Updates, patching up areas of the map that glitchers use, tweaking gameplay, etc.

I can tell you with certainty that working on one thing does not affect our continued work and support of MP overall.

Yeah..... That’s great and all,...... but could you guys fix the multiplayer?
I mean at the bare MINIMUM, at least fix the spawns, THAT’S THE VERY LEAST YOU COULD DO!
THEN the fal, grenades, health, sniper, melee lag, and bullet lag.
There’s more, but that’s all that comes to mind.

dont keep on eye out for weapon balancing!!! KEEP ON EYE OUT FOR FIXXING ALL GLITCHES ON ALL MAPS, FIXING THE FREINDLY FIRE ON CO-OP AND ON MULTIPLAYER, AND BRINGING UPDATE 1.4 BACK… THATS WHAT PEOPLE ARE ASKING FOR AND NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE YET.. U SHOULD KEEP ON EYE OUT FOR FIXING THE GAME BACK TO HOW IT WAS AND NOT MAKING IT LIKE CALL OF DUTY!!!!!

What do you want fixed with friendly fire on co-op? We’ve kept friendly fire enabled for a reason on co-op, which is why it’s stayed like that.

Map glitching is continually being addressed - it’s a slower process and, as to be expected, folks will find new ways to exploit the map as well.

Hey Arne I’m just asking but how long does it take to fix a glitch, do have to do something to block it off,
I know almost every glitch In this game. I like to just mess around in them. And also how many new characters do you guys have coming out or is it just those 2?

I liked 1.04 because it was less stressful and more fun, but I’ve never played more continuous hours than after 1.06 because I’m unlocking the multiplayer trophies. Just because 60,000 are playing doesn’t mean that they are having fun.

That being said, I will forever play U2 multiplayer. Because even at its worst, its still the most fun I’ve ever had online.

I’m still waiting for news on multiplayer…
Still not touching the game until my FAL gun is fixed(BACK TO NORMAL)..anyway, I’ll be patient.
Oh, and as for the skins...meh...I’ll wait for Kratos or something cooooooooler. lol

It must bother you guys having everyone complain to you about every little thing you do, huh? I’m guilty of complaining about some of the changes you guys have made to the game, and even thought about retiring from it but I realized I love this game too much. And to be honest with you, the MP has gotten better… the grenades aren’t as powerful, which is a good thing. Shooting someone in the chest SHOULD result in a quicker death for them, and shooting them in the legs should slow the death process down a bit. The FAL isn’t useless, but a very good weapon with a tough learning curve (I’ve gotten used to it).

ND, I’ve gotten used to the 1.06 update and I really don’t want ANYMORE changes to the MP unless it’s for glitches and spawns. The fact that I’ve stayed loyal to your game after the wave of complaints and empty threats, as well as readjusting my playing style all within a month. Well, it tells you just how much I love your game and I’m going to tell you something that my friends and I agree with. YOU GUYS NEEDED A BACKBONE - and that comment about how you guys feel about the FAL made me smile. Whoever doesn’t like the game is free to leave, but I’ll stay. Along with 70,000 other people who obviously love the game enough to stay after the tsunami of other MP games that hit the PS3.

Btw Arne, to get the Marco Polo skin, you have to get the platinum trophy, which includes getting all other trophies. Does this include the newly added trophies as well?

ARNE, I ALSO HAD A QUESTION IN REGARDS TO THE NEXT DLC??? WHY IS IT THAT I ALWAYS FIND OUT ABOUT THE NEXT DLC ON OTHER WEBSITES AND NOT THINS ONE?????? EVEN WHEN THE DLC IS COMFIRMED ON SEVERAL WEBSITES THERE IS NOTHING ABOUT IT ON HERE??? PLEASE GET BACK TO ME ON THAT!!

Maybe I’m in the minority...but Skins are one of the bottom things on my wish list....

I’d rather see things like maps, new weapons (crossbow, 44 magnum), random spawning weapons in current spawn spots (people love to camp by certain weapons), new co-op arena boards (temple, ice cave), maybe some new boosters, maybe the ability to rank higher than 60, more things to spend your in-game money on, etc…

Basically, I want to see things that keep the game interesting and keep me coming back for more.

I didn’t like the 1.05 update at first...but I’ve grown used to it and it now makes no difference to me either way. As for the 1.06 update....didn’t mind it...except I think the grenade radius should’ve only been decreased .5 meters instead of 1 meter....but again...not a real big deal.

Ultimately, this game has been the best combination of single player & multiplayer that I’ve ever owned and I appreciate the continued support. Hopefully glitches get fixed and more enhancements continue to come to keep people playing.

I dont like to complain about the game because it right after the battlefield series is the best online EVER. But I have one issue, the grenades. I used to be not very good with them but I got better then the patch came by and I started sucking again.

I would like the ability to use any of my custom skins in Survival GoldRush & Mission. Also I like the Sniper rounds brought back in Survival and GoldRush. In multiplayer I can understand the rounds being reduced but in survival/goldrush all these changes have made it sorta aggravating to play especially without the ability to choose your custom skin.

What’s the point of me obtain all these skins if all I ever play is survival, goldrush and mission?

Regarding the sniper—unfortunately the number of rounds are tied between MP and co-op, so changing one affects the other. The current clip capacity of 6 was our best compromise between both modes. It’s not perfect, but that’s the best we can do.

This was the main reason I bought it was for survival and missions… The deathmatch and plunder is just a lot of COD players camping out imo and now that respawn is similar I pretty much stay away from those setups.

Thanks for the skins. Seriously fix the grenades. if i throw one right beside him and he doesn’t even stumble its no way u can tell me thats ok arne. it not humanly possible. and AKs having the acuraccy of an FAL is killing me.Just increase the radius so it can stop being a firecracker lol.

Wow all these complaints...just shut up and play the game. If you don’t like it anymore, turn it off. No one has a Desert 5 to your head making you turn it on.
Great job on everything ND, I’m having fun out there, and that’s what it’s all about! Do whatever you want, you made a great game, great multiplayer and co-op games, and you’re the experts as far as I’m concerned.

Just saw (or actually first “heard") Emily Rose (Elena) with a featured role/storyline on the TV show Private Practice...I was in the kitchen thinking “Who turned on Uncharted 2?”. She was playing a pregnant woman...great actress. Hope you’re able to get her for Uncharted 3!

Thanks for thinking about those who already bought the comics! I always like new things in my multiplayer and although I dont think i will use pinkerton much, (because i got Eddy Raja lol), I will give Rika a go for a while. I think I read a comment on the PS Blog that said u were working on the spawns, NICE WORK! Also I think a way to report glitchers would be great. Thanks again for the skins ND!

So you have hundreds and thousands of complaints about the current status of your MP here on your blog alone but you say you want to keep the game that way because YOU guys like it?

We bought a different game and no other game before has changed its face so much. I’m sorry, but I feel betrayed. Without the great MP that it was before 1.05 and 1.06 ruined it, I wouldn’t have bought this game, I would have rented it.

If the message is “accept it the way it is now or leave”, do you expect those who do not like 1.06 to buy any more ND games in the future or your latest DLC?

It’s just not right what you’re doing here. Please consider some sort of solution that will make everyone happy. Try to create a seperate playlist, even if it’s hard to do. A huge part of your community wants it.

And if you want to know how big that part exactly is (no one realy knows it seems), make a poll on this blog instead of the heroes poll. An easy poll: Do you like 1.04 or 1.06. Why not ND. You make all these games for us. Shouldn’t you try to make us happy instead of yourselves?

The game is in its most messed up state ever right now. I cannot and do not want to believe that you guys are planning to keep it that way. What made you come up with such extreme changes after four or five months? Nothing was wrong with the game…

arne, i need a favor from ya and its not THAT hard (i think). since the 1.06, the game lags SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO BAD and i was just wondering if you could decrease the lags that you brought with 1.06 coz in 1.05, i dont even lag at all. for me, the best update was the 1.04 or 1.05. :( please create a 1.07 again but just one thing, restore the grenade back to the way it is and decrease the lags coz i saw many newbies and MANY USERS lags sooooo bad including me. anyway, 1.06 has caused you a bad thing because it decreased your daily players from around 80.000 to 53.000
