SPIKE TV announced the nominees for the SPIKE 2009 VGA Awards and UNCHARTED 2 ends up on top with a record EIGHT nominations! We’re candidates for Game of the Year and Studio of the Year, among other categories.

On November 19, SPIKE TV announced the first details of the SPIKE 2009 VGA Awards, along with a list of nominees in 28 categories. Reading over the nominees, it was awesome for us to see that UNCHARTED 2 picked up eight nominations, including helping us end up in the running for the Studio of the Year award:

Game of the Year
Studio of the Year (Naughty Dog)
Best Graphics
Best Action Adventure Game
Best PS3 Game
Best Original Score
Best Voice (Claudia Black as Chloe Frazer)
Best Voice (Nolan North as Nathan Drake)

i hope you win huge. really you should win all of those. you have my vote. [e-mail edited out]. if you want great ideas to help your online grow. 5000 to 100000 . together we can beat other online games. please have an update SOON. plase. if there are 2 things i could ask for right now that be a free 4 all mode. and skins from unchrted 1 .and oh ya a map pack $9.99 for 5 maps. and extras plase and thank you. HUGE uncharted fan . ps ive also beat cash 1 2 3 and the wrath of cortex for the cube. you guys rocks

Awesome game folks! Definitetly deserve all the praise! BTW, where can we make suggestions on the game? Would love to see an unlimited Arena co-op modes with no level cap at 10 for both survival and treasure modes. Along with that, it’d be great if someone gets dropped from a co-op game that we still get the $$$ progress up to that point. These two suggestions go hand in hand.

I voted for you guys for all the categories that you have been nominated and hope you the best but get a new patch like get free for all for online, clans, new chars, NEW MAPS ( maps are getting old now), new weapons and new modes and this game would top Halo 3’s online and etc… WIsh you the best and Good Luck

just voted for all 8 . hope you win them all. I GOT A ??????. WILL THERE BE Globe stats soon? head shots,accrecy etc.match satistics. and so on. i would love to know where i stand in the world. and i love to compare stats with my friends. please get this running soon. love this game. but it be better if i could seen how many medals my friend have the kill/ death ratio.win lose ratio. and one last thing plase program the ss shotgun into another maps.Is it only in plaza.put it in trainwrack.or in 1 of the maps your working on lol . im gonna keep buging till you make a map pack. then you can put the west in 2 or 3 of those maps. along with the crossbow. you could even add co2 containers to blow up. and throw them same as propain. just smaller(run faster with not much faster though)you could also have 2 m4 in each map instead of 1. any thing else just ask. i love this game but don’t want it to get old. addons and updates. thanks 4 listeing. and dealing with my bad grammer and spelling.

You guys got my vote. I am hopeful you win all the categories you were nominated in, however with MW2 having a larger installed fanbase and the VGA’s being a fan voting system.....
You will for sure win the majority of other GOTY awards through publications and websites though.

I would if you took that stupid 40K penalty off the multiplayer. My PS3 crashed going between rounds on co op, I waited ten minutes with no change. So I rebooted my system to find a 40K penalty WTF.
You have made such a brillant game why are you sabotaging it.

Voted. Of course I scored Uncharted 2 at all places I could. To be honest, I rated it because I think this is, by now, the Best Graphics game, for example. Excepting Chloe voice, I agree with all my votes (I don’t really like the spanish version, although it’s pretty nice).

You guys at ND definitely received my votes. I voted Nolan over Claudia and BAA’s voice actors because he is what makes Nathan Drake so awesome. I hope you guys win them all! Good Luck!!

No points from me as long as you give penalty of $40.000 and one level back for connection errors I can’t do anything against it. It happened second time now, I lost $80.000 bucks and two times one level. This is not the right way! And if I want to leave a level, as I’m not willed to play cooperative cames with only one additonal guy, I leave the one or the other bomb with my own players and the game will be stopped as well after three rounds. A penalty is not the solution, more to get a more stable programming.
If this is solved, you will get immediately 5 points.

love your game and voted for all the categories your in.

On a seperate note i do hope a few things get sorted out soon.

Not sure if this is happening with others but for some reason when i play online the controls just stop working for a few seconds every few mins, it only does it online and not with any other game. Also i’v tried it with 3 different joypads and it still happens so its defo a problem with the online part of the game.

A bigger issue i have is actually playing online for fear of been kicked out of a game and loosing $40,000 again, this happened to me last week and i sent you guys an email but received no reply. Not only was i gutted that i was booted out of a round i was doing quite well(for a change hehe) in, lost my stats for that round but also got fined and my rank went from 10 to 7, this is just not fair, i did nothing wrong, its not my fault the server went down, my connection was fine.

Anyways dont wanna go on and on about it but its a tad annoying as i wanna play the game to death but i’m having to play other games until this and hopefully my previous mentioned problem are hopefully fixed.

I want to finish this on a good note so i just want to add that this is maybe the best game i’ve played, you guys are amazing. im looking forward to whatever else you have in store, be it DLC, new games, i’ll be getting it. Keep up the good work

Fix the $40k penalty ND! I was pumped to really get into the multiplayer and was ready to buy any DLC you released day one. Not anymore and I won’t waste my time voting for you guys in this either.

this is 4 the guys who hate getting kicked or leave a match and lose 40 k. I had to kick a guy last night he killed me 3 times. throwing gernads like a fool. I felt bad but soon as he was kicked we caught up and won.some people need to no that they are being targets more than a help to a winning team. Ive never had to leave a game 4 no reason. and i do not ever get kicked 4 no reason. sorry about your problem just get better. And really 40 k is not even that much. all it says to me when i want to leave is a 30 sec penalty. thanks naughty dog. (map pack)soon

I have been a fan of naughty dog ever since i first started playing games ( crash 1 was my first ever game!) and you have never let me down However this year you guys have really outdone yourselves, i had no idea how epic and amazing uncharted 2 was going to be, it was even a better experience than the likes of modern warfare 2 or assassins creed! You can always expect a top-notch game from naughty dog, you guys deserve every nomination from the list and i hope you get them I have been a fan from the beginning of my gaming days, and i will continue to respect naughty dog throughout my gaming career XD

I’ve voted on Uncharted for all the categories it’s been nominated and voted for you as Best Dev. But unlike other people comenting here, I don’t think that Uncharted 2 is the best game I ever played, it’s the second best, right after Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune. I think you guys are loosing your incredible atention to detail: In Uncharted 1 Drake would get his magazines from a pocket beneath his right shoulder, but in Uc2 he gets his magazines from nowhere. In Uc:DF Nate always held his gun with his right hand and the reloading animations were always fine, but in Uc2:AT you take cover on a wall and when you’re facing your left (the character’s right) and reload an Assault Rifle/Sniper Rifle, the magazine magically respawn in it’s place (only when you take cover and Nathan holds the rifle w/ his left hand). [Spoilers Following] Also I wander why hasn’t Drake got any beard in the opening cutscene, but then, in the cutscene preceeding chapter 15: Train Wrecked, he has beard. On a similar aspect, in the cutscenes from Chapter 25 Lost Paradise where Drake has undressed his snow jacket, his shirt isn’t wet in blood (from the shot from Flynn), though it is in the gameplay. Another thing that annoys me is the fact that there is the language menu in the option menu, but we can only choose between English and… english. Now this is something that I don’t understand, mostly because I think (but only you, ND, can tell me if it’s true or not) that at least the portuguese language is in the UK disk because I have my system language set to portuguese, and in the final cutscene, when the main character says “I’ll give you a five, how’s that?”,in the subtitles it appears “Quatro.”, which is the portuguese word for “Four.”, a subtitle that would have been adquated to an earlier moment in the cutscene.
And I think that those are the only things wrong w/ this Superdoubleextremelyincredibleawesome game. I’d really like if you could release a patch to fix these really small things, but I’m just one person.
I’d like to add that in chapter 17: Mountaineering, Nate says that “These are snow boots, not track shoes”, when I think it is precisely the opposite.
It would be nice if incorporate a place for sugestions in your site.

Hey Ndogs , U got my vote , in all catagories .Drake’s Fortune was awsome , but Honor Amoung Thieves , has no words for it . Simply a 10+ . Now with CODMW2 , on the shelfs , it’s even more clear. Naughty Dog , ROCKS , Big time !!!! And yes , please make a nice DLC , Skins , Weapons , maps , also for survival coop mode please .

Despite the ongoing issues with multiplayer, I had to give you my vote. No game is perfect, but the single player campaign was just awesome. By far the best game I ever played. The multi-player is fantastic too… but that 40k penalty… what a mess. I really hope it gets removed soon so I can enjoy co-op again without fear.

Don’t listen to the ppl complaining about the 40K penalty. I’ve been disconnected before due to connection issues and not once have I been docked 40K and a level, so keep up the penalty..weeds out the quitters! we know there are a lot of them out there. You got my VOTE!!! GOTY!!

i dont really think whoever voted for this game to be game of the year really played the game much. you guys are idiots for docking 40000 points for lost connection! why not 5000? and the melee doesnt even work sometimes and the other day i couldnt even pick up any guns until it migrated hosts!!! wtf! your losin fans everyday! dont get me wrong i love the game but listen to the ppl who play it all the time and fix the shit were talkin bout.

i voted for uncharted 2 and naughtydog for all categories. btw and yea i think 100,000 would be better than 50,000. as for deathmatch 100 instead of 50 or AT LEAST 80.
i was i little dissapointed because there was no doble money for medals only for kills. anyway u still rock naughty dog

I just went to the site--and it pisses me off to no end how many categories U2 was left out of. Best male and female voice actor, best cast--instead there are some total pieces of crap in their place. Megan Fox got nominated for best female voice actor and not Emily Rose or Claudia Black? Really?

I love you guys, Naughty Dog! I greatly appreciate how you put a constant effort into making a superb game and trying to improve upon its predecessor (which you guys did, in every way, although Uncharted 1 was definitely a great game on its own). I also am so glad that you consistenyly update the game to make it better and better. I voted for you guys in 7 out of the 8 catergories (sorry, but I felt that someone else had a better voice than the superbly talented Nolan North and Cluadia Black). Go Naughty Dog!
