To kick off week 2 of the Subway Taste for Adventure full competitive multiplayer experience we have added two new maps for you to explore! Additionally, there is now a patch that addresses various issues we’ve been reading about on the forums or have been seeing during our play time with everyone.

To kick off week 2 of the Subway Taste for Adventure full competitive multiplayer experience we have added two new maps for you to explore! Get ready to think vertically and rack up the Pull! medals as revamped Highrise makes a return to Uncharted multiplayer. The Ruins takes a turn for the worse as molten lava replaces water. Additionally, there is now a patch that addresses various issues we’ve been reading about on the forums or have been seeing during our play time with everyone.

Patches and updates active right now as of 6pm PST include:

-Molten Ruins Map has been added

-Fixed a bug which would cause players to stop accumulating cash and items purchased

-Fixed a bug that could cause the player to lock up accessing the Friends list, or when a Friend joined them

-Microphone icon will now appear in the Multiplayer lobby to indicate who is using a mic

-Fixed a bug in which reconfigured control schemes were not being saved properly

-Players will no longer able to join a party that is in the Find Game function or actively in a game (was causing various issues with players not being pulled into games properly)

Over the course of the next 24 hours we will be rolling out more updates. As these updates are rolled out, after you end a game you may notice that your Kills/Deaths ranking on the leaderboards has changed. This is being done because of tweaks to leaderboard calculations. For instance, kills achieved during Plunder do not count in the Kills/Deaths leaderboard. These updates are:

- European and American players will be re-integrated into the same play lists with this patch

- Removed Team Objective and Plunder kills from being tabulated against the Kills/Deaths Leaderboard (all kill/death stats are still kept locally for the player under Statistics)

- Your personal Leaderboard progress is reset to coincide with the above change

Because in Plunder objective of the game is not defeating your enemy by killing them but by bringing treasure home 5 times. As a result it is much easier to kill people in Plunder. At least it is for me, and I have harder time in regular deatchmatch.

Thanks so much Naughty Dog! I appreciate all the hard effort and the dedication you put into your games! Is there anyway you can integrate features like choosing what your default shoulder view is? I mean like can you make it so you can choose what shoulder you’ll naturally aim down the sights? Also I don’t know if it’s possible but can you also see if you can make it so that in cinema mode, that when you respawn, the screen won’t black out for a second? Overall, these are just little things and I really appreciate it again! Keep doing what your doing

Also, Do you guys think it’s possible to add back the opening and closing cinematic cutscenes before each match starts? I know it’s a little thing, but it really did add some flair to it and it just made me want to play more matches just so I could see what each cutscene looks like in the perspective of both the villians and the heroes.

The new patches are all nice and good but have you guys figured out how to fix the level reset bug. i just got back too lvl 35 and im hoping it wont happen again. you thimk it might have something to do with the bug u just fixed with the money and unlocks not being saved

Hey Eric, how is it going?
Whats up with the getting shot twice and dying when i unload a full clip on the other guy and he walks away.
You guys should take a look at that cuz its very annoying....

I just wish things could be more like Uncharted 2 multiplayer. Recoil, health, character movements, grenade effectiveness were all much more fun back in UC2 multi. Now I feel like I’m running through molasses with a lead ball strapped to my feet while carrying weapons with the accuracy and stopping power of nerf guns. I also did some side by side comparisons of the characters. I know it is only the beta, but I still have some concerns as the character models for many of the heroes like Chloe are much worse looking than Uncharted 2. The multiplayer Chloe doesn’t even look like her. I’m betting this is only because I’ve been playing the beta. Though, as an avid Uncharted fan, please please pleaseeeee change the multi to mirror UC2 more. You guys had it down like nobody else. Uncharted 2 multiplayer was absolutely perfect. Nobody could even come close to competing with that experience.

@Jakemania I think the main reasoning for this is so people won’t hop into Plunder and Team Objective matches just going for kills and neglecting the match parameters to score a good KDR. Hopefully now people will focus more on teamwork, objectives and winning the game then on how well their score looks since it doesn’t effect their leaderboard standind.

All in all, this is an excellent update . Keep up the great work Dogs!

how do u get the subway taunt, I’ve entered many codes and it hasnt been an option to get. Please answer there are many people wanting to know. Also I’ve had a problem of throwing grenades and them dissapearing.

To NaughtyDog: My psn is ONLYoneRIVER. My entire Stats, unlocks, level, medals have all been reset! As if I started the game for the first time. I do not play plunder! If I have its been once or twice. I’ve lost everything and the second I play as a level 1 my leaderboard will reset. As of now it shows I’m still a 35 on the leaderboards and ranked 1740 in kills and 680 in wins. I have tried contacting you guys through twitter and facebook and both of my messages were deleted. Can I please get and answer?! Will my stats come back? Anything will help

All of these are easy fixes and highly appreciated, but you know what a majority of players would appreciate more? A regional option or for you to address the issue of lag. This is extremely frustrating. Correct me if I’m wrong the but the majority of severe lag is from other countries so please give them their own server. A lot of people invest a lot of money into this including myself but this really makes me not want to buy anything at all. Do something please!

I just played both new levels. Game play is definitely getting much better. I still think that melee is too powerful. If someone hits me once, and I shoot them from 3 feet away, it shouldn’t be possible for them to come back and kill me with another punch so quickly. Getting shot should slow down the melee ability more.

AGREED! Melee is a joke. I unloaded a full M9 (same with AK) clip into a player’s chest, as I was reloading they melee’d me once and I died, they ran away just fine. Same with blind fire behind something, they can run up and around the obstacle and melee you with one hit, they die too.....but come on!

What I’d like to know is, will something be done about random control switching, in several instances where sprint suddenly becomes aim or throw grenade, and punch becomes roll or high-five. The possibility that it was a controller malfunction is bunk, because if that were the case, it would happen ALL the time, but it’s seemingly random. I have noticed that it happens whenever certain players are in the match, which makes me think the access has been already hacked. PLEASE look into this.

I wanted to bring another issue to the table. Whenever I party up with friends the game will split us up onto different teams on a regular basis which is very annoying. We have to quit and party back up then pray we will stay on the same team. I just had a match today with a party of 5 which I thought was unswitchable and it switched us to two different games completely. This was an issue in U2 and I would quit and get penalized and it is still an issue in U3. I’m sure you all are probably aware of this issue I just wanted to bring it up again. U3 is extremely fun by the way!

Naughty Dog, how can I unlock the Naughty Dog AK in the game? it says I need a code from subway but when I get the code, the only options available are
-Uncharted 3: Dynamic Theme
-Subway Drake
-Drake’s AK
-Cup Outfit for PS Home
-Uncharted 3 Multiplayer

I already have all of these and I just want the Naughty Dog AK-47, Naughty Dog Para 9, and Subway Shirt for Heroes.
Will these be available later this month?

thanks for fixing the save issue but it’s to bad the update was not earlier. I got reset yesterday to level 1 and it fixed the saving problem and the lag/freeze issues at the beginning and end of matches. I hope when I get back to level 35 the lagging and freezing don’t return. Did any of the patches affect the frame rate lag at the beginning and end of matches? I know your all working hard to find and fix these problems and I really appreciate it!!

Have you guys considered doing any upgrades to the way grenades are thrown? I cannot tell you how many times I have been killed because I couldn’t throw a grenade successfully without having to hold the button down and go through the entire motion. It’s mostly just down the iron throwing, and sometimes you can go through the whole motion and no grenade will come out at all…

Hi ND. I love this beta, it’s great and amazing, but i have this one really big issue. Lately, i’ve been winning quite alot of games, but they seem to count as losses. Even when i lose it counts as a loss. I just confirmed this today, after winning a Three Team Deathmatch with my friend. Please fix this

It´s a wise decision separate the leaderboards. Enough of that guys playing Plunder to rank up the k/d. People must play for fun, not for the obligation to have a good k/d.

U3 is going to be even better than U2.

Molten Ruins looks fun, but Highrise? That map has always been my least favorite, remake a fun map like The Village or The Temple! And please adjust the recoil for the AK, it’s ridiculous, the beta was a lot of fun! Sadly I can’t say the same for the demo, the reticle bloom and recoil is too much, please fix!

If you get a chance to read this. I just want to say that the “Three Team Deathmatch” is bugged also. My Win/Loss record was around 110 wins and 5 losses before I started playing the Three Team Deathmatch. And when I started playing it, me and my partner have won around 25 matches and yet I notice after all those wins, it converts it to losses. Making my record right now with 137 wins and 32 losses.

I’m wondering if this issue is being fixed or not. And if Win/Loss records don’t transfer over to the actually game come next month, then don’t worry about it. But if they do, can you please fix this issue.

same yo i mustve won 50 3tdms without noticing anything. then i realized my win loss was negative and meanwhile had won at least 85% of my games. i had a .64 w/l ratio and i love 3 team dm. im thankful my account got reset for this 1 reason. i just want it to be fixed so that i can play my favorite game mode without being penalized

Hey ND great work so far on the MP, but there seems to be a problem with my score on the leader boards its saying i have 84 kills when i actually have 1642 kills. id appreciate it if you could take a look at and hopefully get it fixed. Thanks for the awesome game, cant wait to play the single player.

Hey ND,

Just want to say that I love UC3, it is a great game so far!! The maps are fun to play on, but the one thing that screws it up for me every time is the reticle bloom and recoil on the AK!! It is crazy, I liked the way it was in UC2, you really need to go back to that way. We are not playing a Military Simulation here, this is a great game but please fix the reticle bloom and the recoil. I love the Uncharted series and that is why I am getting the Collectors Edition of the game and the guide, but if you don’t fix the reticle bloom and the recoil then I may be forced to just cancel my pre-orders for both of these awesome items. So ND I’m pleading with you to please fix this one problem that me and many others have with this game!

I hate the running and the blind fire… hey ND i used to play hours of multiplayer UC2 but right now this game is getting me tired… Miss old UC2 playability… Not the “cat and rat” game to see who’s running faster to shot the other player… And Highrise??? Really!??? Wheres the Village and the The Temple, or even the Sanctuary??? ?? well just waiting for Story Mode and then, back to UC2 that is, by far, the best game ever in multiplayer!!! Keep the good work…

‘Stopping Power’ has NOT returned!!

People are still able to run at you(without slowing down) whilst you’re constantly shooting them(DTI) in the head & chest from about 20 feet away with the AK47 M9 etc then they suddenly blindfire you, glide towards & melee you from about 10 feet away!

Uc2 & now this are my favourite games(virtually the only ones I play) but this is doing my head right in.
Some other things need tweaking but this is by FAR the main one.

Please fix it!

i agree! “stopping power has NOT returned” i shot some kid in the face yesterday and the just charged at me blindfiring like an idiot and got the kill. it is sad.

here are the fixes i would LOVE to see corrected:
stopping power - bring it back
blindfire accuracy still needs to be turned down
meles should take 3 hits to kill someone - right now it seems like 2. also, someone shouldnt be able to mele me standing 7+ feet away from me

It takes way too many bullets to kill someone compared to a quick blind-fire & melee.

I’ve just pumped about 5 bullets straight into someone’s head as they’re running at me from 7-8 feet to almost point blank range with an M9; they did not die. & guess what ? I got blind-fired & melee’d.

I’m gonna say now that I’m finished with multi-player until this is (hopefully)patched but I’ll probably be on later.

PLEASE FIX IT ND!!

Hey Naughty Dog, love what you guys are doing with Uncharted 3. However, two things that bother me:
1. I don’t know if you can answer this, but seeing as how practically every place in the world so far has gotten Uncharted 3 mutliplayer early, can us Canadians who are always excluded from these promotions expect any kind of access? (I don’t blame you guys, I say it’s publisher Sony’s fault.
2. If the cash/XP transfer over, doesn’t that mean that those who didn’t play the early experience will have an unfair disadvantage, as the competition will be those who are high levelled and experienced (especially when Canada yet again got excluded from the deal)? Are you going to implement a way to make things more balanced?

What the hell I updated it and guys are killing me with few shots but its taking me a hell of alot more shots to kill them and my grenades dont always explode and when they do they take forever or just knock the person over.I’m huge fan of the uncharted and have huge amount of friends that have same problem today was the worst time I ever had so far but I keep telling myself its a beta the game will be better I hope .

I agree. The multiplayer in Uncharted 2 was perfect. The character movements, monstrous health, ridiculous recoil and lower detail character models is just not acceptable. Uncharted 2 was my favorite game ever made. Completely changing the experience feels like a betrayal. As a loyal fan of the franchise, I am deeply saddened by these changes. There’s just no magic in the experience. It feels more like your average shooter. Uncharted 2 felt unique and exclusive. It was an experience that only Naughty Dog could offer. It feels like the Uncharted 3 multiplayer was developed by a completely different company. It just feels hallow, sluggish and uninteresting. I’ll most likely just keep playing Uncharted 2…

Also, grenades were heavily nerfed back in the early days of UC2. I wasn’t happy about it then. But now they have made grenades utterly useless. They should have just removed them as my attempts to use them tactically get me killed more frequently than not. If they want to make the game more realistic in the recoil and character movements, then they should realize that real grenades have a kill radius of 15 meters not 15 inches.

I think so too. The health is still pretty high. If the badges of honor were to come back I really don’t think that having half a clip would be enough to kill someone. Been watching other multiplayer videos for KZ3 and despite the large amount of distance between the maps there isn’t a need to spray so much ammo to kill someone.

I have annoying bugs to report. 1rst: if i win i keep getting a lost in my stats and if i loose i get a win. 2cnd: sometimes, the game does something quite weird. The game become unresponsive and my character just keeps running strait. I tried changing controlers. nothing. i tried pressing start to quit the match. cant. it doesnt anwser. i tried pressing the ps button to quit the game. the sort of stop icon in the top right corner appears to say i cant.

Is anyone else having problems with the spawn areas? I’ve had occasions where I would end up spawning in place and get stuck. I’d have to grenade myself out of there. Other times I land right in front of an enemy and I would get melee’d pretty easily.

Hello, I have several problems with the mike, when I tried to talk with my friends, the don’t understandme and the sound is metalic. To solve the problem I have to disable the optical mode on the ps3 and play only with HDMI, otherwise if I use the 6.1 with optical the mike crash and I can listen them but my voice is missing or break and metalic at the begining of a party, and it’s a pity that to play online on U3 I have to desable my 6.1 because the sound it’s great. For more information I use a 6.1 Sony STR-k890 and the oficial Sony headset. More friends have the same problem. Thank you for the big and fantastic job!.

I am having a severe Lag problem with this game. I do not experience this on any other game, nor do the people I play with. It is only this game. As I read through posts from others here it would seem I am not alone. Please tell me this won’t be the case with the full launch because I’m getting this pretty much for the MP. Hope you guys can help out.

When will the blind fire be patched. I never played a game where the blind fire gets you more kills than actual aiming.

Also if you shoot someone and they kill themselves with a grenade or jump off to there death that person gets the kill. Since it was basically a suicide kill shouldn’t there be no points awarded to the other person who actually didn’t kill the player??

Anyone following ??

Well there has been a lot of great work by the Naughty Dog team ..
BBUUUT
there are lots of major points which you people should keep in mind ..Those are
That in many ways UC3 Beta is not as good as previous one ...
The reasons are:

--- THE NAUGHTY DOG GUYS SHOULD HAVE ADDED THE CUSTOM MELEE COMBOS IN THE MULTIPLAYER AS WELL TO MAKE IT BE A BLAST.....WOW EVERYBODY HAVING ITS OWN MELEE COMBO :
)
---The AIMING and RECOIL of the weapons IS AWFUL :(
---The MOD attachment to weapons is limited
---The Medals like Rage, Connect Four , Rampant ,etc are extremely difficult to earn due to the bad aiming.
---The blind fire is a complete failure...The previous one were the best.
---We are not able to play COOP and CAMPAIGN but from were I don’t kow are we unlocking things for the COOP ???
---I think so that there is no use in having unlocking Flynn’s Gun etc
---We are not able to see the scorecard after tye game finishes .
---The scorecard in the match is also a bit confusing. You have to find your name in the team . IT IS NOT HIGHLIGHTED AS IN UC2.

Well these are the few I assessed ..HOPE THAT THEY WOULD MAKE IT BETTER.

I cn’t believe the MP is so bad when you compare it to U2. I am extremely dissapointed in the MP =( Lots of issues, stopping power, blind-fire and recoil and people just bitch slap you when you are nailing them with bullets, plus the 2 weapon mod is gone, now limited to 1. The reason why U2 was so great, was that it was simple and fun. Now it seems the striving to make the game more realistic has had a backfire effect and jacked everything up. The U3 beta was a hell of a lot more balanced than this. Oh well, I’ll still buy the game for campaign, but sadly won’t bother much, if at all with the MP.

Guys,i have a problem

In lobby,when i press statistics on my PSN name,my kills show over 3600 and yet in leaderboards it shows about 800.

What is the meaning of this ? i have recently started to play Hardcore mode (most of those 3600 kills were taken during team death match games) could this be what twisting my kill death stats ? and most importantly..can it be fixed ?

ND you have done a amazingly good job with the multiplayer.Im not buying U2 for its online but its singleplayer,but i confess,the online impressed me by all meanings,graphicly,map design,weapon and character customisation everything is perfect,but there is only a problem that i cannot keep it in,the KAL is too overpowered,i know its supposed to be a close range gun,but people don’t need to aim to kill with that weapon.Anyway,deffinitly buying uncharted 3,and i just love the attention to detail,expetially the condom machine in the bathroom in the trailer XD.Keep up the good work

Yeah i also want that. I didn’t spend that much at Subway, all i spent was $8 and won the game. Which by the way will take 8-10 weeks to get to my location but that is ok Batman Arkham City will keep me busy until then. I’ve already reached level 35 so im set when the game comes out.

ND please release a 2nd patch.I just did FFA and there was a noob who use KAL blindfiring ofcourse,and camping and he got in 3 minutes 7 kills and 0 deaths while the rest of us had to aim,use cover and everything to reach or take a higher score.But you must fix or take out the KAL its noobs dream.And why did you add a mod for the KAL to increase blindfire accuracy?It would make it 100% accurate.
Also,there is a bug where you cannot collect a treasure,and if it falls down,you cannot get it ex. in highrise i might kill someone but i win a treasure,wich falls down to the death spots,please make it automaticly come to us after 2 minutes or if its unreachable like in the beta.
3-The climbing is too slow,i might press L1 a thousand times but it still wont aim,or it wont fall down if i hold circle,it will continuously grab.

Dear ND I have one problem with the multiplayer and that is the point system like in plunder I was taking all the Idols and my buddy who was only killing got more money than me and I was doing the objective so please could you fix it like who is taking the Idol gets extra cash and who’s helping him can Idol assist? would be a nice move
Oh and the grenade back throwing system is rocking but when I kill someone and he has a revenge booster in I want to throw the grenade back but instead its picking up the gun and I die :( can you guys also fix that, like the player first throws the grenade after that he can pick up the gun.
The game ROCK’s by the way and if you would finish this minor problems could get a nominated to GOTY multiplayer also.
Oh and at the objective game type remove the time limit it ruins the teamwork!

hi ND love that u have took the kill to death out of the equation, i now can enjoy the mode 4 whats its 4. 1 issue 4 me is the little cut scenes where you pull someone down, the camera pans away so u dont see the action, dont know if u guys are aware of this.

and finally please keep all the amazing enhancements of this beta and bring back your original first u3 beta settings, especially from the last few days of it, it was an epic experience. this beta is great but i feel its missing something,
as well, in u2, when your waiting to join a game u would first get players toether then it would go to another screen where it divided teams to either side of the screen, all im saying is that even thou the waiting time for going into the game are the same, it does nt feel the same, because u 2 s was split into to segments it gave the impression of being faster and progress towards the start.

I just wanted to let the Naughty Dog Team know that Subway is failing at promoting your Game properly. I love Uncharted and was excited to hear that one of my favorite fast food places was offering rewards for buying their food. I will try and make a long story short, if your interested in all the details you can comment back . I went to 5 different Subways in the Long Beach area near Long Beach City College and Long Beach State and they made me feel mentally retarded when I asked for my Uncharted promotion cup and codes. They claimed that they did not know about it and I had to walk multiple employees from multiple subways out and around the counter and over to their large posters to show them what I meant. I had to read the sign to them and say “hey YOUR sign says that you have cups and chips with codes, for Uncharted (its a video game). If you don’t have this you drew me in here with false advertisement.” They responded with “Well not all subways are the same.” And I said “yes but THIS Subway has a sign which indicates that YOU ARE participating in the promotion.” My friends and I have had the same experience at seven different Subways in Long Beach. We were tired of seeing the sign and not receiving what was promised so I then complained to Subway’s corporate office and they were upset. They said that the managers would call me back, but only two did. One apologized and gave me free promotion codes (but only after I called him back and said I wasn’t satisfied. He didn’t offer the codes himself I had to ask for the codes which I had technically already paid for. ) The other manager that called me back was very defensive and still didn’t understand what Uncharted was. I had to tell him to go read his own sign, he did, paused and then said “I will call you back,” and he never did. I just went into a different subway today and they were still failing. I had to take yet another employee over to their own sign she looked at it and said we don’t know about this. She walked back to the counter, spoke Spanish to another employee who then looked confused. The question was repeated. A pause, a response, then a lie: “Oh we are out.” Both employees obviously had no idea what this promotion was so they lied and said that they had run out instead of admitting that they were clueless. I could go on and on with more details about the other visits, but I hope you guys get the point and understand that Subway doing a poor job of promoting my favorite game in Long Beach. I say this not to complain but hopefully just to help in advertisement choices in the future. I don’t know where the breakdown is happening, I’m sure its not with you. I’m just reporting for you own sake, hope this information helps.
