Support your team in UNCHARTED 2 MP

Sixteen different skins on both the Heroes and Villians sides hit UNCHARTED 2 multiplayer today – all in the spirit of helping soccer, I mean football, fans support their team in South Africa over the next two weeks.

The next time you log in to UNCHARTED 2 multiplayer you’ll notice that your character selection choices in your multiplayer profile have changed significantly – but only for a limited time… more on that later. You have a smaller pool of characters skins to choose from, but you’ll have 16 different versions of Drake and Flynn to choose from in the Heroes and Villians selections. Those 16 versions represent the countries whose soccer teams have made it to the second round in South Africa as of today.

Since we’ve been seeing so many displays of team support across the Internet and on forums, we thought it would be cool to extend that show of fan support within UNCHARTED 2 multiplayer.

So for a limited time – for two weeks or until about Monday, July 12, 2010 – you’ll be able to choose Heroes and Villians skins with the following country uniforms:

Uruguay
Mexico
Argentina
South Korea
United States
England
Germany
Ghana
Netherlands
Japan
Paraguay
Slovakia
Brazil
Portugal
Spain
Chile

In order to have all these characters available, we’ve had to temporarily remove some of the characters from the selection screen. We’ve done this to ensure that all the characters that are available through paid DLC are still available.

There is one piece of bad news here though – the newly added characters of Blaine and Dutch will be among those that will be temporarily inactive for the next couple of weeks.

I wanted to close out with some good news related to “The Lab” and the level cap increase, both of which went active earlier today. Along with this live update for the characters, we’ve also removed the Pistole from the “The Lab” so that “Sniper Extermination” is exactly that – Dragon Sniper only matches. A global per-match cash cap increase to $75,000 will also take effect when you log in next to multiplayer.

I’ll be trying to put in as much time playing “The Lab” as I can – I hope to see some of you online.

Hey you guys heres a tip for this internet problem! Just let it load then change your channel your cable, If you dont have cable just talk with your friends but that would make it slower! Just do something productive than just sitting there watching a bar move super slowly! After its done and you quit then come back on it should be a lot faster!

I love seeing progressive updates about Uncharted while I’m surfing this website. These new things are all awesome, but until Naughty Dog allows me to glitch again, I’m going to have to take an indefinite break from this game.

Not only is it impossible now to reach level 60, its also disheartening to know that I’ll never reach level 80! Please ND, please bring back glitching!

Just so I understand this right, you can’t level up without creating an unfair disadvantage for yourself? Glitching allows you to shoot me through a wall and I have no means to counter the attack. I’ve found that playing with two badges of honor maxes me out almost every time I play and it’s helped me become a better player because of it. Sorry to hear that you won’t be back unless you can cheat. PS...there is no level 80.

Omg seriously… Wayne Rooney. Out of allllllll the people that are playing for England you pick the biggest failure of them all. Who has been absolutely crap all the way through.

Though I do like the World cup thing.

The lvl raised to 80 makes me sad, because I was already losing the will to get to lvl 60, because the game is simply not fun anymore, but now it’s level 80. Honestly people… have some form of lives, 300k is quite a lot of money on this game, since every match even though you wear double boosters gets you the tiniest amount on your money counter.

Oh man no New Zealand or Australia. :( They’re both out of the tournament.

Oh well I guess I should be rooting for Japan, Germany, Spain.

Ok here’s my complaints for the level 60+ Badges:

Great to see a level cap, but I don’t really like the 60+ badge design. Its like Nd are reusing the level 50 to 60 badge design.

*facepalm*

Whats worse is that the roman numerals X has been used to much on level 61 to 80.

Its like reading porno .

For better or worse ND are just out of ideas for the new badge design.

having big prob again..........
its showing my every friend in single player mode..........but they r in MP and sending me invitation
it happened with me before when u introduce
the lab first time......
but it fixed after getting 1.08 update
plz fix it again........

Just to let you know… I enjoy getting away from all this kind of stuff when
I’m playing games.

Kind of glad I don’t have to be a part of using DLC skins though.

And it’s not just cos I’m Scottish

I’ve been trying to log on to the Uncharted 2 Multiplayer, but the progress bar stops like half way through and another box that says “Syncing Live Data...” shows up, then it keeps doing that forever. I restarted my PS3 but it does it every time I try to log in. Apparently my friend is having the same problem

Yes, there seems to be a problem with the syncing. The connection bar gets about 60% of the way to finishing, and then the “syncing live data” bar pops up and the connecting bar gets stuck. And seeing how this isn’t an isolated incident, you might want to fix this ASAP.

The syncing can take a little longer than the usual sync, guys and gals. We’re sending you 32 different skins, so please be patient. Took around 10 minutes on my home DSL connection.

great work ND! i love your support! you guys keep the game fresh, i like it to play so much, please give us more surprises, updates and dlc. i will play this game 4 ever (maybe only until uc3 with another great onlinemode starts^^)

I’m annoyed that characters were taken out (yes I understand temporarily) to make room for the mediocre soccer models. Cool idea for those who care but don’t take stuff out.

Guess it isn’t all bad, they left the ones I actually bought and it isn’t AS dumb of a development choice as giving players the ability to see through walls.

it only says “failed at model synchronise"… or “disconnected from playstation network” when i want to join uncharted 2 multiplayer. I have tried it 6 times yet. It doesn’t work… Help please

The sync failed the first time I tried it, so on my second attempt I timed it from start to finish. A full 27 minutes to sync everything >_> yeesh. Interesting update, but wow, I’ve never had an update take so long to finish.

PORTUGAL UHUH the country that had more goals streak in this season uhuh. lol just messing around but actually is cool what you’re doing.but hell im playing uncharted 2 right now and it takes minutes to update.oh finally i can play now. it just stoped updating now.man that was long.

just played a deathmatch with 4 lv60s and a lv67 usually we get beat as they tend to use sa and murder use lower levels who use boh. it was brilliant they have to use boh if they wana climb the ladder now. it was funny seeing them get killed as much as us made a change. really think you need to raise the cash limit im using glass jaw and come get some and in my last plunder had 51 kills 7 deaths 5 captures yet only had 75k. needs to be at least 100k but preferably 150k to make the gargantuan 300million i need. i had my apendix out 2 weeks ago so the only thing ive really done is play this every day and im only lv58 got 46.5 mill and you want us to get 362mill ha not with a 75k cap. please please raise the limit to make it actually worth trying to hit xxx other wise whats the point when uncharted 3 will be out before we get any where near ur rediculous target

use Glass Jaw & Fleet Foot. Deadly as hell!

This is awesome!! I signed into Uncharted this morning and noticed that it took a while to sync everything. I was wondering what was going on until I saw the jerseys. Awesome idea, ND. I love it!!

Oh yeah, everyone, please stop crying about the raised level cap!!! What difference does it make? They made it hard to achieve so that there will always be another rank to get to. It’s better than reaching the last rank and then having nothing to strive for, isn’t it? I especially love you people who are saying that your done with Uncharted now because of this. I mean really!! Do you just have nothing else to do but complain???? It’s a free update. There’s no rule that says you have to achieve the maximum rank. I’m still a 50, so I’m millions of miles away from ever getting a 80!! I also have a job and a family to support so I can’t play for 8 hours a day but I’m not on here crying like a baby either. ND was just trying to add to the experience is all.

oh, and i forgot to say you should raise the money you get in each lvl from 50k to 75k or 80k. If you put this in it would be the day i do my happy dance. oh, and like i said before plz consider the golden guns and Michael Myers
