Thanksgiving Event UPDATE

We’ve got some great news – next week during our Thanksgiving Event in UNCHARTED 2 multiplayer, we’ll be removing the per match cash cap PERMANENTLY!

The Thanksgiving Event also starts one day than we reported in our November schedule for “The Lab” – Wednesday, November 24

Thanksgiving Event UPDATE

Don’t like the cash cap?  I know there’s a good segment of our community who doesn’t like it and doesn’t think it’s necessary.

After carefully going through game data from our one-day Anniversary Event with a fine tooth comb, we agree – the cash cap appears that it’s not necessary!

Starting with our Thanksgiving Event next week, we’ll be removing the per game cash cap on all matches PERMANENTLY. As in forever.

We’re going to be keeping a close eye to make sure this isn’t going to bring a new round of exploits and abuses. We want this to be a reward to our loyal community who have requested and demanded for the removal of the cash cap and not open season for those players who exploit our game, making matches fun for everyone.

Speaking of our Thanksgiving Event – we updated the start date on our November schedule to be one day earlier. The Thanksgiving Event will start on Wednesday, November 24.  Stay tuned to the NaughtyDog.com blog or our community forums for an update next week with full details on Plunder – Snipers Only.

The long guns don’t need to be more accurate, use down the Irons and learn to use them in a more accurate way ^^,

If you learn it makes the game more fun, you can take people out long range with an AK-47 before they have time to retaliate and there all like “what?… how the hell...”

I agree completely!  It took me a long time to learn how to shoot accurately without the “Down the Irons” booster on, but once I did, I almost never use it.  Personally, I prefer to use the negative boosters (Invalid and Come Get Some).  It makes the game more challenging, and once the Thanksgiving Event starts, more rewarding.

A “cap” is a limit.
The cash cap limited us from getting more money than 75,00
now its gone.

Why Thanks Naughty Dog! I heard Sony is going to release a PS3 exclusive game the day after the VGA! I am Hopeing for Uncharted 3 :D! Though it may not be! Though I’m 85% sure sometime in December!

You would only exceed 75,000 if your REALLY good or use at least 2 negative boosters. so if you don’t even now what it is, it wont be an issue :D

Well I’ll be damned..... wow ND Finally takes off the cap, and all those matches that i have gotten to 20 + Kills could have given me $150,000+, wow i’ve totally screwed myself on playing the game, and i’m almost an 80!Oh well at least i’ve gonna make it to 80 with out the cash cap taken off, hell at least it was a challenge....

I might be in the minority....but I don’t like this…

Now we’ll have people leveling up faster and abusing objective games to make more cash.

Maybe it will encourage more usage of negatives....but I doubt it.

Now if there were more items in the store to go along with it, I’d be more excited.  Why do we need more cash....nothing to do with it anyways.....

Not fair that people will now get to level even faster when alot of us have worked very hard to get where we are at.

I am kinda upset that ND is doing this. I SUCK now, I never get 10 kills with BoH now. I used to be really good, sometimes 20 kills with GJ and CGS, so it would’ve been useful to me like a month ago, now I just can’t do good with all the lag, SA, spawns, etc.  :(

I doubt this will be a problem, UNLESS ND also suddenly changes what they award for kills in Plunder.  Currently, you only get a VERY small amount of money for a kill in Plunder.  The real money comes from putting the treasure in the chest, which keeps the game honest.

now there will be a much higher incentive to kill just imagine 20 kills + in a death match with double negs. Its a smart move ND a lot of people just get 10 kills in dm with GJ and CGS and dont bother but now you’ll see more effort from players

Hey ND, this is great and I’m “thankful” for your dedication in improving the multiplayer. A lot of new games are here and my nearly year long experience with Uncharted2 is coming to an end.
I heard Sony is announcing a new PS3 exclusive. Sly 4 was revealed by a teaser that you can look up on Youtube. Unfortunately, I seem to be the only one who wants Jak 4 more than Uncharted 3…

I think people recognize you guys for Uncharted only and have forgotten the years of your never ending success on the PS2. I would want U3 as well if it wouldn’t take up everyone’s time from other games in the studio.

Please ND, you guys still own the Jak and Daxter IP so I just want to know it Jak 4 will ever be made.

Jak and daxter was and still is great.
after jak 3 they made jak x which is kinda like the 4th game.
After that they released jak and daxter the lost frontier. I haven’t played, but maybe you should check it out if you haven’t either smile

If this had happened months ago, then I would have been dissapointed. Raising the cash cap is a bit of a slap in the face to those who played hard to get to level 80 already.

But seeing as there are lots of big games coming out and players are naturally drifting away from Uncharted, I was concerned as to whether or not there would be enough players left for me to reach level 80.

Now it’s gonna be raised I don’t have to worry so much about not being able to hit 80 before Uncharted’s lifespan is up.

I know what you mean, The comunity has gone from 40,000 - 50,000 players.
to about 30,000 players :(
This is due to releases such as AC brother hood and black oops :(

Yes! One step in the right direction I stopped at 70 cause it was taking too long! But it looks like I may be going for level 80 now, Uncharted 2 and GT5 will last me until Killzone 3.

wooo thnx so much naughty dog i am so excited will you guys ever raise the plunder score from 5 or the deathmatch goal from 50 because i know it will get boring but when I do deathmatch I want to get loads of kills with my negative boosters on to show my skills but i hate when i’m up to 14 kills and i am going to get “get off my lawn” and also “misery” i muss it because the score is 50 and i miss out on my $75.000

you should make levels 90 ,100.110 , so people can level up much more, with all this unlimited cash :p , a special skin for level 150 ,called the fanboy , which will be a clown-drake who can shoot with bubbles gun and launch special funny grenades with naughty dog logo

im half and half, i didn’t really want an unlimited cap, i just thought it shud stick at something slightly higher like 100g. there will def. be people playing chain reaction and camping at one zone. also, people will rank up way too fast, im not so sure about this but hell, maybe people will start using 2x negs

Ah, finally something amazing. I thought cash cap meant taking away my $75G, but reading these comments just told me that the limit to $75G will be removed. I feel relieved. I can’t wait to level up crazy. Thanks ND, I can finally get to 70.

i was a huge fan of the mp for uncharted 2, but the lack of listening to the player community initially is what turned me away from playing as much. (lack of dlc, no new boosters (but 20 new levels = for what?) 1.04, constant unnecessary updates, and the removal of cash cap)

i clearly remember asking for this, and you answering that ND would never change to no cash cap.

WHY NOW? i smell regrets that ND should have listened to their community more.
