The Art of UNCHARTED 2: Among Thieves - out in April 2010
With all the activity around the Game Developers Conference last week, you may have missed a really important (well, in our opinion anyway) announcement from Ballistic Publishing revealing the imminent release of The Art of UNCHARTED 2: Among Thieves art books.
We don’t have any copies in the studio yet, but we saw some unbound production versions just prior to GDC and the quality of the paper and printing is really quite exceptional—something Ballistic is well-known for. I’ll post some photos that won’t do the book justice at all when we get some copies in at the studio.
The Limited Folio edition, of only 200 will be printed, throws in some sweet extras beyond the standard paperback and the leather-bound Special Edition. The Limited Folio Edition of the art book is bound in black suede leather with gold-embossed cover art, and a matching hand-crafted, black suede leather-bound presentation case with a ribbon. Also included is a certificate of authenticity that have been individually numbered and hand signed by Evan, Amy, Robh and Erick. Each book is 272 pages and contains over 180 pages of concept art, and over 80 pages of production art and character models.
All three editions will be available in April 2010 and are available for pre-order NOW at the Ballistic Publishing website.
You can get a sneak peek at what you would be receiving, as the pre-order page allows you to preview the contents of the art book. There’s also a pre-order bonus—the first 300 people to buy the paperback edition, and all Special and Limited Folio Edition customers will receive a free 15-minute walkthrough video of three concept pieces from UNCHARTED 2: Among Thieves. The video shows pieces by Naughty Dog Art Director Robh Ruppel and Concept Artist Andrew Kim.

Hi ND! In the next DLC you should have.
1. Killzone 2 Scout evil (My dream)
2. Killzone 2 Saboteor human (Amazing skin)
3. A Drake with yellow clothing and blond hair. (For fun)
2 new maps. One in a city, like gta city. One in a temple maby.
A co-op mission with Rika, Eddy and Drake, and the mission is to kill Pinkerton and take the amulet.
A new booster that makes you invisible for 5 sex. One that gives you more life. You get the first one at Rank 70 and the second one at Rank 80.
All this to a cost offff 30 $.
Those are some good ideas, they would never do the boosters though.Arne and more info on DLC?????April 15?
They will do like they did before. A DLC and the 1.06 update. Now there will be A DLC and a 1.07 update. Bad English srry.
I thick the could be booter , making you able to capture zones quicker than normal,like the one able to run quicker with the treasure, and I think there needs to be more co-op missions, as I’m unable to get the finish all three co-op objective trophie, like the idea above, or borno and the dig from uncharted 2.
How about a map based upon the monastary in the first uncharted, as there are all those walk ways on the pillers, and pews for cover on the ground. Anyway, I love your game, and the DLC’s, with the eye of indra, the heroes skins and drake’s frotune pack, al brill thank you, Also I love the art books.
30$ is pretty expensive for just that

thats stupid, naughty should stop putting useless characters into the game, its jsut making it less unique. why dont you just put characters from xbox and the nintendo side while your at it so naughtydog can get some more money?? that’s all they seem to care about, buggy dlc maps, dlc characters with no relation to the game itself

Nice ideas but what would be good for new skins would be crash bandicoot, tiny tiger, cortex ect.

that co op mission would be fun but they should also add a stealth co op where you break into the museum and a co op with the creatures from the first game

I would welcome more characters,hopefully they add more female characters (like Nariko~Heavenly Sword). And I hope they improve the matchmaking system for DLC maps. I bought them, but have never play in deathmatch. I´ve set preference in profile to DLC, but never seen DLC maps in matchmaking.
I think for the next DLC costume pack they should do Solid Snake,Liquid Ocelot, Lightning(FFXIII) and someone else from FF for the vilians and if none of those at least Solid snake! he’d be so freakin cool and Maybe Jak from Jak & Daxter that’d be Epic
It would be really cool to have a DLC map like in a city but there all ready is a map at a temple. It’s called....."The Temple!” And the co-op mission would be really cool.

off topic but ND needs a place to report glitchers, there is a glitch in the flooded ruins by heros base, u can still kill him though.

I really hate to say this but until ND can make an update that they are willing to keep for good I will not be playing online anymore, I will be playing MW2 multiplayer because yes, there are glitches,hacks etc. but at least that game is consistant with the gameplay, in UC2 I would master an update or a gun in it and then you would change it, MW2 doesnt fiddle around with guns and game mechanics at all, I have no problem adapting to new updates but its just you do them too much so until you guys can stick with one update I wont be playing online anymore.

ok, let me explain to u too, 60000 daily players, 1000+ comments by 500-800 people, they lose 8-12% of players, big whoop they already have ur money.
And isn’t that kind of thinking more than enough reason never to give a single cent to ND…
Make such changes after five days and it’s not such a big deal. But after five months, that’s just not right.
I really though about actually getting it… But 300 $ for a book.. I just don’t know. I mean, I could afford it and stuff.. and I really would love to have that limited edition… But again.. 300 $… Ahhh (plus 100 $ shipping to Germany, nice!)… If there was also the game itself included it would have been an instant buy (I already have the game of course, but still), but just for the book… Ahhh.. Well, still thinking about it.
Wow...looks amazing...really would love to buy the Folio edition, but $300 is way over my budget for a book. And there are other games I want to get this year. It’s a very impressive book though. Some great talent there!

The spawns aren’t fixed yet. Only three maps were fixed but I have yet to notice a huge difference.
However, the spawns alone won’t bring back the game as it was at 1.04 but all of us who complain want exactly this version, not some sort of improved “bad 1.06 version"…
Oh man, if I had two wishes in the world it’d be that I had $300 to blow on a book right now, and that people would quit bitching about 1.04. Get over it folks. Not coming back. Leave the game or shut up and play. We’ve moved on without you.
Anyway, thanks for the book - I knew there was gonna be one eventually! I may have to limit myself to the softcover, but the big box is so tempting

i notice the hammer respawns in the facility now but the shotguns dont, and the character spawns really havnt been fixed there also. for a dlc u should have a map in pinkertons estate.

so you’re saying that most of u2 gamers (i’ve researched and people voted for 1.04) are geeks? if they dont fukin change it to 1.04 ND will lose lots of fukin daily players which should be bad for them coz no one plays the game anymore.
noticed that on 1.04 and 1.05 the daily players are above 80.000, now, there are only like 53.300 daily players which sucks.
1.06 lags, bad spawn locations (but they’re gonna fix it anyway), and now, the assault rifles positions are: M4>ak>FAL and it used to be FAL>M4>ak (well in my opinion)
I agree totally with post above. After release I played multiplayer for two months, when new DLC came out I picked it up again and very displeased with lag and bad spawn locations. Some games, you spawn in front of enemies that just shot you or multiple enemies spawn in front of you. Multiple times in a row. It not as fun as it was when the game came out.
yeah i know. its lags sooo bad. my kd ratio decreased from 2.58 - 2.43. thats a huge diffrence, all because of lags and bad spawns.
yeah i experienced lags the same time you experienced it too. wow sometimes i cant even move after i kill someone. and many people complaints about me lagging and shooting people through walls (not glitching but its all the FUKIN’ LAGS! OMG ND please fix the lags :(
the only good thing about 1.06 is that no one glitches anymore except for the air walking (flying glitch to get out of maps)

This book is looking absolutely fantastic. The ND artists are crazy-go-nuts good, and running into their work on Zbrush central was like Christmas come early. Thanks so much for putting this out!

I managed to snag Folio Edition #16 of 200. I can’t wait for it to arrive, it will definitely be the crown jewel of my art collection. And it will look great next to the Fortune Hunter Edition.
I would once again like to commend all of you at the studio on a great job with this game. I truly love every minute I spend playing it, and as a young artist entering the industry, you guys are a huge inspiration.

But he’s right. The MP sucks at the moment. Too many things are unbalanced or just wrong now.
Like many other people, we haven’t given up hope that ND will change it back to the version we bought.
Maybe our posts won’t change much, maybe ND really doesn’t give a s*** about their loyal fans.
But if we don’t do anything (and our possibilities are limited), we can be certain that nothing will ever happen.

Arne. A little off topic, but I think you might like to know this. I think I found a typo in the game.
In Multiplayer, in the trophies, the Sneaky trophy. The description below reads “Get 50 Stealth Kills in Deathmatch OF Elimination games”. That is supposed to be OR, right? If it is supposed to be “of”, I don’t get it. Just FYI.
I have 3 suggestions for future DLC:
1. A new map set in the Borneo & The Dig chapters.
2. If you make a second Heroes pack definatly include Kratos, the God of War.
3. Make some new taunts that we can buy with either real money or our in game cash.

Arne, ND should make a new level and make it have a sas and some crossbows put in the wess and the defender with a gatling in it.
This is completely off topic. But on the map Flooded Ruins. There has been a number of times when I’ve gone into a match there and all the players are frozen but yourself. But basically the other team only see you standing where you’ve spawned and you can’t see them running around the map… I wish I had a video of it on youtube. It’s only ever happened in that map.
Also @DLC New co-op missions would be pretty awesome One with Edda, Rika and Drake.
Maybe there could also be one like from the first game and your in the place with all the mutants as a co-op.
