The Last of Us on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon

Last night video game week on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon continued as Game Director Bruce Straley and Creative Director Neil Druckmann injected some post-pandemic, brutal reality into the late night talkshow world. We were stoked to be able to demo a clip of gameplay first shown at E3 live on the show and happy to confirm the release year for The Last of Us. Jimmy's response to the gameplay speaks volumes and has to be seen. Check out all the action and Jimmy's reactions in this clip:

It is exactly like the E3 gameplay… Couldn’t it be played showing different moves?

I saw what you did. Releasing the game on 2013 is a nice strategy, since AC3 is coming in October and its a super hyped and awaited game, yet The Last Of Us is a new franchise. Cant wait for The Last Of Us its gonna be epic! I hope it has Online Co-op…

I noticed an error in this article:

I’m glad it was the E3 demo, I would really love for this game to have less shown pre-release than Uncharted, maybe one more trailer at say VGA or E3, then released. I think everyone’s talking about this title, so alls good anyway, people will be buying it smile

Also, was the clip here with Jimmy cut after the Molotov? It looks it, would have loved to seen Jimmy’s reaction to the shotgun part!

Am I the only one bothered by this? This is the same demo, but a different play through of it. Comparing this one to one from E3, we see Joel having different amounts of ammo at certain moments and slightly different actions from time to time. However, everything happened almost exactly the same. This video makes me feel like the whole thing is very much scripted.

Well its 25mins after 2am here PST and I been trying to get on this stupid uncharted 3 game since 2hrs ago. I either get stuck in the connecting screen as reported before and while connecting it takes a long ass time the sound goes off. I have restarted my PS3 countless of times with no success. When i do get to the lobby my player skin does not show up, my legacy logo is missing, emblem flag does not move and all i see is a spinning circle when i go into custom game or check my friends list. This has caused me like 30+ losses when i think it would work but i get stuck in the lobby. Thanks for caring about something else and not an existing issue.

C’mon guys… a glitch on a live show!? I guess most of you didn’t notice but, at that scene where Joel takes that bald guy as a hostage, he has 2 bullets in his Revolver. He shoots one bullet at the guy hiding behind the couch and he misses. He shoots again and he performs a head shot. How many bullets should he have left? 0. Well, he has one bullet. If you watch carefully, the bullet counter goes to 0 for a split second, but then it goes back to one bullet… Atleast the presenter didn’t notice…

2013? Really? Hasn’t this game been in development for nearly 2 years now? I would have thought it’d be out by Christmas of this year with the way it’s being “hyped” already. Not that I think taking time with a game until it’s totally ready is a bad thing, hopefully you all learned THAT from Uncharted 3.

Speaking of which, I cannot fully support this new game until you guys prove to the rest of us that you can get a grip on the increasingly buggy and darn near broken UC3 MP. Seriously, it’s gone from fun to good to bad to just plain horrible. I’m not going to sit here and write a “grocery list” of all the problems because I cannot believe you’re not aware of them.

I have to admit after seeing the tech demo for this game I’m a little more interested in it than I was before. Still, I’m more interested in the Uncharted series and seeing where you take that with Uncharted 4.

Might want to take a cue from Sony Blend and include some kind of “Black Market” system in Uncharted 4 where exotic and rare treasures can be collected and then sold to other players where you can actually make real money off of them.......ala Diablo 3 That would keep players interested in the game beyond the single campaign for sure.

i think TLOU AI is very very very great and can change world of the game
i waiting for more information to the last of us.

spent nearly 3hrs trying to play uncharted 3 today with no luck, stupid game kept freezing. finally gave up and played some uc2 instead. FIX THIS SHIT ALREADY!! check your logs and see why several users are getting stuck in the lobby once connected to the multiplayer.

Will Have demo in the Store before its launch in 2013? I’d like to try it with my own hands before its launch. He’s ... in all the games the enemies have infinite ammo. The enemies in this game too?
