The upcoming UNCHARTED 2 “Drake’s Fortune Multiplayer Pack” downloadable content contains two new maps. In this post we’ll discuss how we’ve added the new maps to our matchmaking without creating new playlists, and how to configure this in your online profile to set your matchmaking preferences.

We’re right on the doorstep of releasing the “Drake’s Fortune Multiplayer Pack” – our latest set of downloadable content which includes six character skins and two new maps available separately or as a bundle for use with UNCHARTED 2: Among Thieves. A common question we’ve seen from our players is how we will add these maps to our matchmaking system.

Purchasing either the maps or the bundle unlocks an option in your online profile, which is accessible by pushing the square button on your controller.

As you can see in this set of screenshots, the new option is called “Matchmaking.” The option has two available options: “Default” and “DLC.”

Leaving the option at “Default” essentially tells our matchmaking system that you want to get into matches as quickly as possible. The matchmaking system will then prioritize your matchmaking based on the installed content.

The matchmaking system will first attempt to place you in matches where all players have the new maps installed – up to 10 players in competitive modes and 3 players in cooperative modes. If it cannot find an open slot for you, your party or create a new full match within a reasonable amount of time, the matchmaking system then expands its search and attempts to place you in any match using the original on-disk maps with open spots.

This does mean that you risk the chance of not playing the new maps very often until enough players with the new maps installed have entered the matchmaking pool.

Choosing the “DLC” option tells our matchmaking system that you want to be matched with players who also have the new maps above all else. This means you are essentially forcing yourself to ONLY play with players who also have the new maps installed. This can potentially mean long waits if there are no open slots in existing matches or if the system cannot create a new match where all players have the new maps installed.

If you have a party of friends who all have the new maps, have the “Matchmaking” option selected to “DLC” and THEN a new friend joins your party without the new maps, the system will recognize this and only place your party in matches playing the original on-disk maps to ensure that your party does not have to break up.

Whatever setting you choose, we hope you’ll find “Drake’s Fortune Multiplayer Pack” worth your hard earned cash. Choose wisely and see you online!

if any of you get it then who will you play as. I know what the people look like because I went to the cinema and went to the ones i protected and it replaced people with the new skins. Does this happen to someone else. It always says I am mercenary soldier and on the good team its says I am the new drake. Why does it do that.

It’s unfortunate so many people choose to veto a change they don’t preticularily care for. Quite frankly, I used to think taking near a clip of AK-47 fire was a little redundant. I quit playing for a bit and came back to try the 1.05 update and love it. Now, I am one of those players who whored the grenade launcher and shotguns alike. I loved being able to run around like a small human tank and slaughter people. It was fun. This however, feels more rounded and more true to Uncharted. The game IS a cover based shooter. It’s still fast paced. Still has climbing. Still addictive. Now it’s just a bit more cautious. It takes more patience and more skill to get a stealth kill or to run and gun shotgun. I also realize you are voicing your opinions because NDI listens. A lot. Which is great. But threatening not to purchase or not to play seems rather childish.

There was a time in gaming where games didn’t update and you either learned and got better or you just quit and no one cared. It used to spawn better competition.

Dude. The very fact that you’ve resorted to the so-called power weapons before 1.05 update is a concrete indication that you have no right to state that ppl are ‘childish’ because they threaten not to purchase the new map pack.

Oh and um...I think many many ppl have already mentioned that it does NOT take entire clip to kill person prior to 1.05? I myself killed at least two opponents with AK prior to 1.05 before emptying my clip

Ahh.. its a shame they basically forced me to quit playing, i was waiting for new maps ever since the fort release and even before that.

Sigh.. ND you dissapointed me. How hard is it to say oops, lets go back a patch. Hit the undo button. Please and you will sale a lot more map packs.

naughty dog has done a very great job on uncharted .but have failed on the health issue the game is a completly different game used to be fun. ok yea getting shot by the shotgun all the time was annoying but the game was still fun .now its “call of uncharted”

you know i understand that most people dont like the fact that you die way to easily now but other than that and the shoulder thing this wasnt a bad update. believe me i use to be able to turn around and kill just about everybody who use to shoot me in the back now i have virtually no chance of that and it sucks but i am excited about the DLC just wont be able to get it right away no money. :(

I’m hoping the money from the sales of the DLC can go towards hiring someone to investigate my lost uncharted game, or at least someone with a spine at ND. Why don’t you cross-reference your comments with their stats before you take any stock in what they think. Congrats on all those awards on a game that doesn’t even exist anymore, only a naughty dog would try to f*** everyone. Hope ya catch something. I’ll just hold on to my last sliver of hope

Is there any way that we could get the gold weapons available for purchase? Either in game, or in the PSN store would be fine for me.
Maybe in the next DLC… make them for $4,000,000 or something?
Because I don’t want EVERYONE running around with them.

good point without us naughty dog wouldnt have this big of a name now .in fact i didnt even know who they were untill uncharted 2 but now i do and i have bought both uncharted 1 and 2 have beat both of them and even spent more money on there dlc pack whitch is awesome.and so is naughty dog, but the biggest thing is that they need to give us our game back.i miss uncharted the way it was

I’m just waiting to see the glitches (especially in the Fort and the Ice Cave) closed up. There’s nothing worse than being stuck in a game with some level 60 dillhole that hides in the walls for easy kills.

yea f$%^ cheaters go cheat on single player not online.online is meant to be fair.to all the cheATers sell your copy of the game to someone who is going to take pride in the game not cheat to make themselves feel more like a winner.

It’s a shame that you decided to take almost all of the fun out of the game with the latest patch.

I had been waiting to buy new maps for sometime, but I was basically forced to quit playing the game since 1.05 came out. DLC now is probably a no-buy now since I can only play a game or two at a time now since it’s just no longer fun. Killing more doesn’t equal more fun.

Arne, you posted in the other thread that you haven’t seen a drop off in player numbers.... Well, I’d say that isn’t surprising but what about how long people play?

All i hear in my headset now is bitching and I eventually turn it off after a game or two regardless of how I do in the match.

He seems to be sending mixed messages to me. On the one hand, he’s saying Naughty Dog is listening but on the other, he says player numbers haven’t dropped off. So what would be their motivation to revert some of the updates of 1.05 since he claims the majority wanted it in the first place and just as many players still log on. To cater to the “so-called” minority? I personally do not like update 1.05 but I get this feeling (call me pessimistic) they won’t completely revert the weapons/balance thing but will come to some middle road again.

Pretty clever what they did there, the only thing is that I’m not sure if I’ll be easy to find peole to play with in the new maps if they don’t get it.... Just Saying....

wow this is my 1st comment in your site naughty dog,im so happy for the DLC cant wait !!! as for the new update (1.05v) just make hes own playlist i think thats fair for every1… what u think? and 1 last think ND i have buy your limited edition collectors box use the code but the game pack to have golden weapons dont work can u help me pls?

wow, all these people complaining about the new patch are simply whiners. im glad ND listened to the majority who liked the health tweak, it makes the game play better and by better i mean “how it was intended to be played”. its a 3rd person/cover shooter not a run and gun game. just because you can’t run around like a madman and shotgun people in the face after taking a full clip doesnt mean the game sucks, it means YOU suck. adjust to the game, play it and have fun or NOT… no one cares.
ND, keep up the good work and give us even more DLC!!! puh-lease!!!!!

i like the new update mostly because before people would just go straight for wepons like shoties rpgs hammers ect and get easy kills but for me i hate my games as simple as point, shoot, easy kill and now when they do i can kill em

however if you get shot from behind your f***ed

Naughty dog, I like the change. I noticed the online community is less hostle, mean and more entertaining actually. Everything almos seems right. I know there are alot of people complaining about this change...but from what I can tell, people online are still actually having fun. Those who complain are those who take this game a bit to seriously. I for one, became really good at this game so the changed didn’t bother me. But I think the most important thing of all is the fun factor.

People may call me a “noob” but if the check my states and medals, they would take that back in a heartbeat.

I actually have seen friends of mine return, and to make things even more exciting the community has grown. We are all excited for the downloadable content.

Just looking at the comments I can see how ungrateful and childish people can be. Doesn’t even seem like anybody wants to give it a chance and make it worst criticize others who like it. Well if they want to leave, or boycote the download content let them....personally the game would be better without people like that.

Arne. I have small suggestion to ND’s possible updates in the future. It has to do with character voicing, especially Elena.

Before update 1.05, I didn’t really consider Elena’s loud and wordy mouth to be that much of a problem, but after 1.05 patch came around…

It’s like whenever I climb up a ladder or wall or something, I always get caught by opponents because of all the noises Elena makes. I must emphasize that when I get caught by opponents, it’s not because they are using ‘situation awareness’ booster. It’s really due to all that little noises that I make as a character.

So I wondering, considering that people play plunder mode as well and that it is somewhat useful for the same team members to be aware when some one from the team picks up the treasure -

CAN ND POSSIBLY LOOK INTO UPDATING CHARACTER VOICES SO THAT THE VOICES CAN ONLY BE HEARD BY THE SAME TEAM MEMBERS AND NOT BY OPPONENTS?

The thing I like most about the new update is that it finally gives us half a chance against the turbo users. I do have a few complaints though. First off, the sniper was fine the way it was in the first place. Second, The kicking of people out of games should be left up to the team with a vote maybe. And lastly, if I quit a game because I am continually getting shot from a glitch, I should not be penalized. The person in the glitch should. I thought you were trying to give us a fair game?

Wait wait, read this everyony, no one has mentioned it BUT...shoulder aim-problem EVEN in uncharted:drakes fortune.
i played this great game yesterday and will play even more today until DLC and what do i experience? tHE SHOULER-AUTO-SWITCH-AIM problem as in 1.05 even exists in drakes fortune? What the hell is this? FIRST i thought it was a bug in 1.05, since it was never there before, but when youve experienced it the first drakes fortune/singleplayer game i begin to think it was with purpose. What are you thinking? It f*cking annoyoin and ruins the duells. Can you PLEASE tell why you in input it?

Glitches: please check the glitches! yesterday 3 lvl 60 players, where one of the camped behind a glitch, with sniper rifle. So f*cking irritating. Why do idiots do this to ruin the fun for all others who want to play FARE!
the glitch are the “heroes” camp, someplace there from what i could tell.

and what, how aboyt glitches in the two maps? ITs only a matter of time before people will use them there. Arne, tell me. HOW do people find these stupid glitches?

P.s, i hope for crossbow and mp40-weapons in one of the maps, especially the ruins . tnx

i like the new update simply because its more challenging,more hard to win and more rewarding to get like 5 or 10 or more kills without die (of course without camping with sniper or the FAL) arne can u pls tell what i can do with my problem… like i write before i give 10+ euros to buy the limited edition collectors box to get a code that unlock gold weapons i have download it many times but nothing… i dont know what to do, pls reply thanks for reading

About the last update :
I saw a lot of complainings and i think the update its OK , its change a lot of things in LOVING GAME but its still ok exept the scholder thing :somtimes its in the middle sometimes its in left side - not good , vard to get used to it . AND THE BIGGEST PROBLEM OF ALL - GLITCHES SPECIALLY IN THE FORT MAP !!!! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PUNISH THE CHEATERS !!!! PLEASE LOCK THE MAP PERMENATLY FOR THOSE WHO USE THE GLITCHES !!!!PLEASE PLEASE FIX IT !!!!!
HOPE TO SEE THE DLC IN THE PSN STORE IN A FEW HOURS BYE BYE AND THNK YOU VERY MUCH !!!

Nice idea on the matchmaking ND i think it will work well....getting the maps as soon as i home...bring on the good times.

BTW why are people still complaining....for crying out loud play the game....if you really are that good bring it on.

I don’t know why so many people don’t like the new update.
I really like it because you must hide even more.
The new damage system doesn’t hold me back to run around with the shotgun and kill people. I can kill players with it as usual.
Just give it try guys! You get used to the new system.
Can’t wait for the update. It’s already in the japanese store.

is great the new DLC,NDcppl who like this is the ppl who every time is camp in the game and for some reason now they dont like to die so easy now,that baby stuff ppl the only think u nid to do is play better and that its,and what the diferent if this ppl who crying dont play 1,000 or 2,000 menor in the game they still haved 65,000 ppl playing all the time so F**k the hater who dont like the new DLC is great....

the only think u nid to change in a new DLC if u do it ND, is the bomb and grabing problem,cause i hate the other guys who can grab me if im not close to them and the same think whit the bomb, that is a problem cuase is 1,000 of 1,000 ppl who die for this reason and that really mad some ppl like me and all my puertorrican friend SO PLEASE ND IF U GONNA DO A NEW DLC THINK IN THIS,NOT IN THE HEALTH PROBLEM THE LIFE IS OK LIKE U DO IN THE 1.05 DLC......AND THANKS ND FOR THE GOOD WORK U ARE DOIN OTHER TIME.

OK so i have finished uncharted 2 in normal AND hard and got ALL the older trophies (before the DLC) except the crushing difficulty and the Platinum. If i buy the DLC new trophies will be added… However i want to get Platinum without getting all those multilayer trophies. To get the platinum i need only all the older trophies or all the trophies INCLUDING the DLC ones??? Please answer! I’m at chapter 19 on crushing but i want to buy the DLC!!! Which trophies are required for platinum??? Thanks!

Where in the hoot-a-nanny do I find “drakes uncharted multiplayer pack” ?

Says this for all the new trophies and there is nothing new in the store. I see I can play the two new maps but that’s about it.
