Today, January 28, is a great day for us at Naughty Dog as the first downloadable content for UNCHARTED 2 is available on the PlayStation Network Store for anyone and everyone around the world to purchase.

Announced last week on the US PlayStation.Blog and EU PlayStation.Blog, the PlayStation Heroes features seven key characters from your favorite first-party PS3 games from the last fourteen months—inFAMOUS, Killzone 2, and Resistance 2. By downloading the PlayStation Heroes Skin Pack, you’ll get a chance to use Cole, Evil Cole, Zeke, Sev, a Helghast soldier, Nathan Hale or a Chimera out into the competitive multiplayer modes of UNCHARTED 2 (and hopefully surprise a few people you’re playing against). The Pack is priced in the US at $4.99. If you’re reading from outside the United States, check your local PlayStation Network Store for your local pricing.

Since this was our first attempt at importing characters from other games and engines into the Naughty Dog Engine that powers UNCHARTED 2, I hit up one of our lead character artists to help me coordinate and produce some nice high-resolution renders of all these characters from within our tools pipeline. We put all the character renders in a Flickr set you to check out or download for your own personal use.

I have to say, all these models look pretty amazing. I hope everyone at Sucker Punch, Guerrilla Games, and Insomniac think so too!

I’m not sure what the big deal about the skins are, they don’t improve game play on any strong level besides visual. Obviously you have made us a visually stunning play ground to begin with. So why not move on to something that enhances game play, and reduces Repetitiveness. I believe the game should have been released with DLC but that could just be me. Also to release a game that has 31 game of the year nominations and only release a map, 1map and a hand full of skins in the first 5 months… for the lack of a better word I’ll say LAME! I personally will not spend my money on something that could and should have waited. Also I believe advertising should not cost the prospected buyer anything, after all that is all those skins are, lead characters from other SONY games, I’m sure the point I’m making is obvious.

I don’t know why anyone’s not mentioning it but the bull crap ammo deduction on the sniper riffles is ridiculous, I play co-op arena mainly and now the sniper riffle is useless, cutting it to 10 would have been reasonable but more then 50% absolutely irritating, also I never even heard it mentioned in your blogs. one more problem to add to your repertoire I suppose.

On a lighter note I do enjoy the came play for the most part. I just feel that a came company of your Popularity should have us sitting on our couch for hours playing, without us calling “bull” twenty times at connection issues, changes that were not stated to be made, glitches that make some situations impossible ect. Well I’m done with my rant thanks for reading.

stop your complaining and get over it but i should say that they ought to fix the spawning issues during the online game play i keep getting shot in the back when i spawn directly in the middle of the battlefield with the other team being able to see my name now thats BS.

Well if these people did read the title of this blog, it does only say ‘skins’ not ‘skins and voices’. Give the good men and women of naughty dog,who are working hard to bring the best out of a uncharted 2, a break for pity sack

thanks ND finally some DLC the skins look great(wish they had voices) since you guys put characters from other games I just wanted 2 point out some characters from other games that might have been cool also like Nariko from heavenly sword Snake and Liquid Ocelot from MGS4 and Kratos still I’m glad we got some DLC keep up the good work you guys rule!!!

no offence ND but this is the dumbest thing that has come out for uncharted 2. these characters dont belong in the game what so ever. and people saying to add more characters that dont belong in this game,like mgs 1. that games sucks entirely 2. if u want to play as an mgs character go play mgs duh. and now that these new characters are silent the people that are to lazy to get the platinum trophy can buy these things instead of working for marco polo or ghangas khan. either way my opinion is u should have brought in crash banicoot or some old naughty dog characters not other games characters. i think it sucks.

Dude i had the same problem but when u go on playstation store dont go to “GAMES” stright away go to “GAME ADD ONS” and read each and every name carefuly so that way u make sure u hadnt miss anything.

Doesn’t work for me neither. Bought the game in the UK, live in Belgium. Didn’t want to have it in French and did not expect to have it such a problem! I couldn’t use indra skins neither btw. Bought both packs, no one works. I ‘d like to be reimbursed then! Fix it, please.

I can’t have access to the DLC I bought because my game is from UK but I live in another country… I said this before but I was totally ignored… I don’t want to be rude but I feel cheated cuz I bought something that doesn’t work and this is the first time that happened.

I purchased the skin pack just to support the DLC and to help keep it going. However, I don’t agree with adding skins from other games, especially with no sound. Kinda makes the silent movement booster useless. I think it could have been handled differently, there are plenty of other characters that could have been added. How about a swimsuit Chloe?

ND i love the skin pack it dont matter if they have voices or not because hearing them talk isnt that important

for the next skin pack i say u should put the navarro, pirate, eddy raja, eddy’s sister, Gabe Roman, the monsters from the first game, and the guardians from U2, maybe not all but some would be nice, and more co-op levels and game types

...So those of us that worked hard to get our platinum trophies are less skilled for using our skeletons? If you say so… They’re our reward. Ironically, AjencenariaN has Skelzor as his most used villain lol. I guess that’s fine though if you played a lot during Halloween weekend.

Yes I’ve noticed that mistake on ND’s stat page as well. Fact is, Halloween weekend is the only time I’ve ever used skelzor b/c I had to. That’s a bug/mistake on ND’s site, which there are a bunch of inaccurate bugs all over the stat portion of this site. No offense ND, I could truly care less. And yes, tons of tons of players without true skill seek the platinum trophies and/or get to level 60 to get their skeleton b/c they know of the advantages it possesses. There are even shortcuts to get to level 60 easier without even having to have that much skill (i.e. making bank playing co-op, until getting the medal of honor boosters which while they have those on they just get cheap kills with shotguns/pistolas/hammers.) I’ve made level 60’s cry before on their mics, that doesn’t impress me. I’m only impressed by someones play, particularly in the shooting/aiming department along with how good of an understanding of the overall game they have.

ND im sorry but SERIOUSLY FIX THE HORSE SHIT.......
Come home hard day work first thing that happens connections error 2nd connection error “you’ve been deducted $40,000”........3rd imitated connection error 2 seconds into my 3rd match “you’ve been deducted $40,000 “....lovely lost 80,000 in my first 3 matchs of friday even more fustrating me alongside 4 of my friends are unable to join each others party’s (9/10 times we cant anyway but its friday so.....maybe......we can but NO)
and i dont use negative boosters so… im losing more then i earn
FIX THIS DISASTER OH AND IDLE KICK FUNCTION NOW always 2-3 players idle every match...LAME HOLES(players not ND)

OH and no more foreign characters WORST IDEA EVER this is uncharted after all isn’t it.....? (you should have put in past uncharted characters and/or additional costumes not some shit that has NOTHING to do with ND) Im REALLY starting to turn my head away from uncharted the only online game I like…

Ps. Past ND characters would have been Better aka SOME NOT ALL jak and daxter and Crash bandicoot skins(With unique voices) .....why????? well because you’d still feel like your playing an NAUGHTY DOG game.

(Oh and sorry but just a thought i have noticed a growING number of people running around spraying pistol everywhere and most of the time winning an assault rifle..? so instead of starting with a 92fs maybe an 45.defender would be better again I would not have suggesting it if the pistol sparyers werent growING intensely)

I CAN’T BELIEVE WHAT HAS HAPPENED. i was so happy that u guys fixxed the error and i was able to play again even though my level was resetted, i managed to get to lv 37 very quickly and just know i got an error and got signed out of the playstation network, when i signed back in i was level 1 again, SO WHY! i wasted my time leveling up cuz u resetted my level and then u do it again, im not playing this game anymore

LOL ihavent even bought these yet, im not the biggest fan of the games these characters are from but all i can say is thank you ND and it also peaks my interests two words......old snake hahaha you guys could even make his taunt the back ache from mgs4 but thats me dreaming thanks again ND

First of all, it has been announced that a steady stream of dlc is going to happen for the two next weekends, but I won’t go into detail.
Second, I’m pretty sure Naughty Dog has heard this already, but could a patch be released that gives all characters, like Eye of Indra, the skeletons, and this pack, voices? It may sound like trolling, but I would love to see the Helghan taking the treasure, and saying, “We’ve captured the treasure!” In that voice I love so much. Just a short reccomendation…

Naughty Dog, look I love you guys but plz hear me out and regard what I have to say and disregard any (mean or rude) things I have to get out of my system. First of all, PLEAZE GET RID OFF OR LOWER THE PENALTY FOR LEAVING A GAME!!!!! IM F***ING PISSED AT IT!! I just got DISCONNECTED from my Plunder game. And of course, I was PENALIZED and lost 40,000 F***ING $!!!!! My connection just DISCONNECTED me 3 TIMES in a ROW!! I didn’t personally leave!! I got DISCONNECTED, a.k.a. CONNECTION ERROR! IM (and many others are too) SICK OF GETTING DISCONNECTED AND LOSING $ ON SUMTHING AS DUMB AS DISCONNECTING!!! PLEAZE LOWER THE PENALTY!! I love your game and I love the Multiplayer. Please, please, please, lower the penalty and/or settup a trigger that activates when people are disconnected so they’re not penalised. I love your game ALOOOOOOT, and I don’t wanna give up on it and go to a different game that doesn’t dock me when I leave a game that was beyond my control. I really love Uncharted, TY for the DLC, Sorry again.

Just a side-note, I’m very grateful for Uncharted. You guys listen and have had a reply for every major issue I’ve ever had. So much so you guys made a patch for it b4 I even had to say anything. Alot of people are being ungrateful asking for more everytime you give us something amazing. I truly love the DLC and you’ve satisfied my need to kill a Helghast with Sev in Uncharted. The penalty $ was awesome, you fixed a big issue to every1 who wanted a fun, and fulfilling experience in a game. My only request is that you fix the issue of disconnecting and still being penalised and you keep on giving us awesome DLC. I have to say ever since the DLC, the detail and just plain awesome-ness of each character has had me doing a Pump evry game. Oh and to add on the DLC, can we pleazzzzzzzzze get a Winter Victor, Heist Chloe and possible Reapers from inFamous. I’d really love that. Thank you and keep up the outstanding work. Your the best!

Attencion all CANADIANS, if you can’t find the dlc here’s what to do. When you first go into the PSN store you’ll see the advertisement for the uncharted 2 demo, click on it and it will bring you to the all uncharted 2 page, it will be the first thing there at the top of the first page, you can’t miss it,

Omgg, this so awesome im now seeing this, i havent been on my ps3 for a week and when ever im about to play my ps3 the first and always game i play is uncharted 2.. i cant wait to see this, but i wont be playing as any of them.. i dont have a network card and i would like to play as in famous boy :(, when the maps comes out in february i hope it will be free. i would love to play in a different place

PUT MORE WEAPONS i want a new gun. i cant play with the ak-47 anymore. you should do an update where new weapons are put like an mg or a rifle idk but as loong as there is more weapons. uc2 is an amazing game but more guns would make it my best game ever!

Great work on the skins. They look amazing. I may get them. Still on the fence. I thought I would buy anything released for this game, but now I’m thinking twice. I don’t play competitive mode much. I really enjoy co-op survival, and wouldn’t get much use of the skins.

Naughty Dog,
Please give more attention to co-op. Allow the skins to be used in co-op. Remove all stock sounds from the multiplayer except the grunts and moans. I don’t care if my character doesn’t say “oh shit” or “whoa ho ho.” I just want to play the game using all characters in all settings.

More maps please. I want to see a dlc pack with at least 3 new maps that can be used for each co-op mode.

Make the treasure hunt option more random in the selection, or maybe increase the voting choices to 3 instead of 2.

Please set the Dragon Sniper ammo limit back to 15. That was my favorite weapon. I had my favorite perches in each level and was darn good at it, even with random enemy spawns.

Those are my only request. Great job on this game. It has longevity and has provided me with hours upon hours of entertainment.

Give us more guns online
fix grenades and melee system reduce the damage of grenades and put a timer on them and give us the ability to cook them
melee is too much damage reduce it
give us more game modes like demolition, search and destroy to make use of the c4

The skins are awesome, though adding voice over at least to the helghast or Hale would’ve been even sweeter, but oh well, but playing as them I always feel like I’m playing the particular game in third person view :p. But thnx ND, now I’m waiting for DLC maps, oh and it would also be nice to add DLC trophies to the maps and/or skins, would sink me right back in.

hey ND can you guys add voicovers or at least sounds to them. I don’t own them yet, but I think you guys should make them grunt and be able to hear them coming. part of the realisticness of this game came from those sounds you hear all the time. I think you guys didn’t give voiceovers because you could use phrases from the game and the majority of the games the skins come fron are rated M and you probably don’t want to change the rating but you could make up your own phrases for them.

Oh yeah but guys that are mentioning Jak and Crash skins I really don’t think those are a good idea because they just wouldn’t fit in with the game.

Oh yeah and guns are a good idea to add maybe add MP40s and other guns we didn’t get.

This DLC is on my not sure yet list but I’ll buy the next skin pack for sure if you add sound and voiceovers. one of the next maps should be nazi base from the end of Drake’s Fortune.

Hey Arne,naughty dog the Dlc would be better if they had

-Voices for new skins ( we need a update :D)
-Helghast the eyes are not glowing red :D
-Be able to play with the new skins in Co-op

Just suggestion :D

-Maybe 1 free map for ppl that bought the dlc o-0
-More Co-op levels
-Maybe add special weapons for the new dlc XD

These look really cool but I don’t play competitive so no use buying! But can they be made available for Co-op (Survival/Goldrush)??? If so I would buy them in a heartbeat.

I’m seriously dissapoint with the PSN.

A person who owns an American PS3, and have an European copy of the game (not just uncharted)and buy the DLC with an american account will lose money, and wont use the DLC you just bought i don’t know the * why, but it won’t work. Great DLC ND, I would buy it, but I know that if i buy, i’ll be * like a lot of other guys that did this. So i’m writing this not for NG, but for Sony itself, to think a way to overcome this problem, so there won’t be more complaints about it.

Appreciate the attempt at DLC....and don’thave a problem paying for it. However, I won’t be buying the skins.

If they wanted to add skins...then why not keep it related to Uncharted? Add some player skins from the first Uncharted or something....

I think these skins ruin the integrity of the game....I don’t want to run around in multi-player and see guys from other games....What’s next...Star Wars skins?

Stick to the Uncharted games....give us skins and maps that relate to the two games.

I’d enjoyed playing on-line and will say that this game is by-far the best game I’ve ever owned....but the new skin pack does nothing to for me.

Will keep watching for future DLC though.

Can we please have Snake in a new pack? And while you’re at it, Maryl, Raiden, Otacon, Vamp, Screaming Mantis, and Liquid Ocelot and a random PMC solider?

It’s a crime to leave Snake out of any crossover that involves Sony characters, and the mass MGS characters would be a nice compensation for the exclusion....

I’m afraid of losing my immersion, ND had such a nice world in U2—I was eager for Eye of Indra skins since that seemed to grow it—but if it’s just going to become generic and add in any character from any game…
I don’t want to suggest removing them entirely but can I Request a core-skin only playlist or something?

all this DLC is really cool i like how your expanding the franchise. but all of this goes to waste. the online game at this moment is bullshit. Its full of constant explosive whoring and spawning issues so please before you even start on your next DLC pack FIX THESE ISSUES all of this dlc will not sell if the gameplay. (I think the health reduction will fix these issues BTW) I am a huge fan of this game and of naughty Dog and the core game play is great but these issues are stopping me from playing. this is only my opinion so please do not troll me
