Read on as we detail what’s in Title Update 1.05 – and there’s quite a bit!

Last week we spent a few days giving you a peek into some of the major or important updates we include in Title Update 1.05. With the imminent release of Title Update 1.05 today, February 15, at 10:00 AM PST (what time is that in my city?), we’re publishing the detailed changelist.

Title Update 1.05 includes the following:

Weapon damage and attributes have been rebalanced
On-screen display of medals awarded during a match has been updated
Implemented detection and removal of flagrantly idle players from the active matchmaking player pool
Cash penalty for leaving matches has been adjusted and is now tiered by player level as follows:

Levels 1 – 20 = -10,000
Levels 21 – 40 = -20,000
Levels 41 – 60 = -40,000

Updated player networking protocols to remove all occurrences of “error syncing player data,” Level resets and Ranked playlist Skill Level resets
Added crawling ticker display of leaderboard statistics to the multiplayer menu screen
Updated multiplayer menu screen to include a “Trophy” selection to enable players to display and track progress on the new Trophies included in the Drake’s Fortune Multiplayer Pack
Collision and geometry updates to various multiplayer maps
13 new medals have been added

Defender - Kill a player that is actively shooting one of your teammates
Finish Him! - Get the last kill of the game
First! - Get the first kill of the game
Fly on the Wall - Kill a player who is climbing
No Cigar - Kill the treasure carrier while they are about to score the treasure
None Shall Pass - Get 5 Kills while in the hill during a King of the Hill game
Protectorate - Shoot and kill 5 enemies that were damaging the treasure carrier
Put’em Down - Kill someone in the knockdown state with a pistol weapon
Retaliation - Kill the last player that killed you
That Was Embarrassing - Earn a shutout in plunder
Tip Off - Be the first player to grab the treasure in a plunder match
Tricky - Kill a player with a pistol weapon while hanging
Unlucky - Die 5 times in a row without getting a kill

Alright. I think I got it all. As always, we’ll be scanning the forums, Twitter, Facebook and more to read your feedback on the changes and adjustments introduced with this Title Update.

i like the new medals and every thing is good. but the lowered health can sometimes be annoying but we have been playing regular health for months now and you made the health change a little too late becAUSE everybody is used 2 regular health

i thank for the penalties and all the other shenanigans youve fixed on the game. but because of the update it messed up the gaming a lil. like its harder to move around during cover, easier to die, and some things from this update just made things easier for the noobs to take advantage of the strong weapons. i actually stopped playing the game now because the update completely made me feel not worthy of my rank and level. everyone was perfectly fine with the gameplay before this update.
like i said. i thank for the penalty stuff and helping out with the damn cheaters and quitters.
but do something about this update cuz i have a feeling a lot of people are going to get the idea of this game being game of the year turning into something as horrible as ODST.

I have been reading these blogs for a while now but I have never had a reason to post anything, that is until now, this new update has ruined the whole game play, as previously mentioned by others, the MP has become a camp fest, the matches take long to load, people are still glitching but that’s not why I am commenting, I have had this game since November and it seems like every time there’s an update instead of issues being fixed, it’s causing worse issues than the ones you were trying to be fix. I have always heard of players getting penalized for leaving games when it wasn’t their fault and never put much thought into it until yesterday when after doing the updated I get disconnected (I DID NOT QUIT) twice in a matter of 10 min and get penalized $80,000.00, this is not right, YOU NEED TO FIX THIS, There must be a way for you to credit players that this happens to. I WANT MY $80,000 BACK, THIS WAS NOT MY FAULT. If this continues I will more than likely move on to another game. It’s just not worth me putting in the time to earn cash to level up and buy skins when you can just take it from me for no fault of mine.

finally, people who agree with me. Those last updates ruined the game, 2 shots, youre dead. And the shoulder view keeps changing without i pressing the L3, thats totally messed up. Oh, as the mate said here, I WANT MY MONEY BACK TOO! i have lost like 200000 because the game doesnt even start, i demand naughty dog to give players their lost money back! AT LEAST 100000 in EVERY players wallet, so it will be fair for everyone

I really dont like the thing where if you stand still for a minute then you get kicked out. i went to go take a #1 then as i came back i was kicked out. and i agree with some of these other guys when someone leaves a match or people dont move in co op and your forced to leave and then get a penalty its not really fair.

Again I must agree here.The game was THE BEST game ever before this new update.The many hours of gameplay I and so many others have put in to build ourselves to a skill level only to be crushed with this update.Camping is encouraged, noobs are killing top levels and not because they are good but because of the easy of death.Normally easily evaded but not one shots hit you its pretty much over.Fix the glitches not A PERFECTLY FINE ONLINE GAME.SO VERY DISAPPOINTED IN NAUGHTY DOG FOR THIS ONE!!!

totally agree..... it’s more of a game of who sees who first raather who has got the better skill...... the shotgun is useless now. ridiculous scores are being reaached, i just was in a game where someone got 34 kills....... U2, U were MUUUUUUUUUUUUCH more enjoyable before this update...... please change the health system bak!!! think about the polls, how many noobs are out there???? tonnes and of course they’re gonna vote for the lowered health system as they’d get more kills. the three to 4 months i have spent building my skill on is practically useles......., much lower levels are building up ridiculousy. and it’s realy not fair, but most importantl, NOT FUN.
Believe me and most other U2 lovers, this update has failed miserably......... usually i get on U2 and play for 2-3 hours, today i played for 20 mins and got off.
I can honestly say this update was horrible but NOT irreversible. It kills me to say it but u2 will no longer be occupying my free time..... and that makes me very sad :( :( :(

Amen, Kepon. If you’re going to overpower the FAL, take all fifty off the map and make them scarce. The sniper rifle is total BS now--one hit kills? Really?

Put the weapons back to what they were and, if anything, reduce the power of the shotgun and pistole blindfire. However, making the FAL the douche weapon of choice is really killing game play.

As for the rest, thanks for the new medals. Something to look forward to.

this is a an excellent update but, yeah, i agree with keponlodin

ND, you’ve made the best MP game a nooby twitch-shooter. now, there is no skill involved, no need to aim. it’s all about spark and pray. you’ve also rendered the cover system useless. there’s no chance to roll and take cover anymore. climbing is discouraged. and the sniper gun is 1-hit kill with a very fast firing rate. wtf, naughty dog.

please tell me the health update is just temporary.

I knew this day was going to come*COD NOOBS AND LITTILE KIDS COMPLAINING*** You guys have ruined such a GREAT, fun MP.. Now the game is just like COD..why couldn’t you guys just make it it’s own playlist so everybody could be happy? now the game has become a campest, the game takes no skill, and isn’t fun anymore. That’s why I decided to stop playing my favorite MP of ALL TIME until you guys finally realize that lowering the health=no fun.. BYE BYE U2, I put so many hours into this game, is sad how a single *stupid patch* has forced me to step away from a Game I loved and had fun with :(.. I won’t be playing this game until the old fun U2 is back again.. and Come on, AUTO SHOULDER SWITCH? WTH? wow such a great game :(

dude ever one needs to calm down sure ok u die faster now but what about the whole past 4 months people saying why does it take one clip to kill ONE person. personly i dont like having to use a WHOLE clip just to kill one person so i like this update and if u dont like it dont play we are not makin you play the game so stop complaining

It’s only really the best it has been for people who are a tad incapable of playing online games. The main enjoyment of UC2 was that it was far more skill based than most other games out there for PS3. The reason for that was the amount of bullets it took to kill people, before you could use evasive manoeuvres far more effectively and still relatively easily kill a guy who is shooting you in the back simply by being more skilled. Can’t do that anymore unless the guy shooting you in the back is REALLY bad.

Now it’s just dumbed down, which means people just sit as far back as possible with a FAL and wait for people to come which basically removes all the tactical and skillbased elemenets of the game. Absolutely great update. (That’s sarcasm)

I mean, it’s just a game. You don’t have to take it so seriously. If you don’t like the game, suck it up. You don’t have to spam Naughty Dog about it.

Personally, I like the game. Sure, it needs some fine tuning here and there but it’s still fun.

Just try to cut ND some slack.

yeah you are right… it does help the new players… but it just made a veteran quit. there isnt enough variety in the game to keep me interested if they lower the health. it was the one thing that stood out from other games. now ill just got back to modern warfare 2, bioshock2, pretty much any of the other games out there. it’s too bad, i understand why they did it dont get me wrong. make shitty players want to play more so they will be online longer and might spend more on dlc etc. yeah cool… but hell with it… friends have been bugging me to borrow the game… guess its their lucky day since im done with it. thanks for the good run naughtydog. this game pissed me off enough for other reasons including the frequent disconnects from PSN, unlike the other games i play… oh well… ill still look forward to uncharted 3 from a single player perspective, in the mean time learn how to make a multiplayer game

When are you guys going to give players an option to leave games that are stuck on the map vote screen or the next screen which shows the teams and the stage yer going to play on? I’ve been stuck on this screen for 10 minutes and counting man. IF i leave it may happen again and boom i’ll get a penalty for something that isn’t my fault.

This guy is * Just camping up in the sniper towers in the village with bandoleer and situational awareness and just keeps * just shooting me once not even head shots and i get killed. ND, thanks for listening to the community and making adjustments. Love the new in game medals and the way they appear in game. BUT, I ABSOLUTELY CANNOT STAND THE NEW “RANDOM” OVER THE SHOULDER ORIENTATION CHANGE!! Everytime I hit L1 I want to know the camera is over my right shoulder, I don’t want to play “let’s guess which side it’ll be on” when I’ve got two people bearing down on me. CHANGE THIS BACK ASAP.

Ok so what the sniper is 1 hit kill, it should be that way to begin with… it is a sniper rifle and it should be the most powerful weapon in the game. I’ll also add that i didn’t notice killing people or getting killed with Ak’s was any different. The only difference i saw or really noticed health wise or w/e is the one shot sniper.... it used to REWARD PLAYERS WITH GOOD AIm to get one shot head shots.. now people don’t even need to bother man.But it’s still 2 shots with the DE from what i’ve noticed.. or the person shooting me had really bad aim.

ok, so let me get this straight: you tweaked weapon damage but not health? I’m sorry but regardless, I dont like it. In one fell swoop you took a gun that required skill and finesse and turned into a one hit killer that everyone now attempts to abuse. I liked it the way it was before… And i know its stupid to even say stuff like this but it does feel like youve fundamentally changed how combat works. you now cant run out in the open so much, its like how you have to play when youre using invalid. And may God have mercy on the poor souls that are actually using invalid, they now have no chance whatsoever and maintaining their k/d. Im 60 so none of this matters to me but for real, you’ve slightly changed how the game was played. people that complain about bullet sponging just arent very accurate. its fine, every game has a learning curve but youve effectively changed the face of multiplayer, however slightly. I thought id like it at first because it makes it more realistic but really it just means you cant pop out from behind cover. The fact that you could run out in the open and take a couple of shots is what made the game fun. you didnt have to play hide and seek or camp. Im tellin ya, this is a bad idea.

Besides, you guys admit that yeah, statistics can be read and interpreted multiple ways. Do you know how many different ways there are to read a stats set when youve got six different options and some are wildly different? Youve also gotta take into account how generalizeable the stats are or how representative they are of the population. This health and damage set would be good for its own playlist. love all the other changes. But I know for a fact that so many gamers dont even know about this site or how to look at their stats, much less how to vote on a very important issue to the gameplay mechanics! Ya might not think this is a huge change, and I guess its not… but it feels like im playing a different game. I thought it was flawless before and this isnt because Im dying more or anything like that. In fact, its easier than ever for me to rack up kills. It just doesnt feel the same, and its really not as much fun. Maybe i’ll get used to it in time… but Im tellin you this is a mistake! you make the FAL more deadly than it already was (plus most abused weapon) and took a perfectly fine sniper, and destroyed it. maybe im being a bit heavy handed but things were fine the way they were. Id just hate to think that id start playing this game less not because I’m playin somethin else, but because you fundamentally changed the games mechanics!

Why all the bitching I like that weapons become more damaging, and that is not because I’m a COD fan, I hate COD…

but the reason I like this is that the weapons are now even powerfull as the damned shotgun/pistole/grenade launcher/RPG/blindfire with any weapon

if someone is running into you with blindfire you at least make a chanche in getting him dead first with just an AK47… the sniper rifle and FAL are stronger so less players will be noobing around blindfiring, besides, the new map (sunken ruins) is bigger with more open spaces, blindfire assholes that running around the map will have no chanche of survival there…

The only issue I still have is the damn grenades, they still are very powerfull…

Everything about the update is good ND. Although I’m not to keen with the “Balancing” of the weapons, it’ll probably just take some getting used to. With that said though, it does kind of take the skill edge away from some of the more experienced players, and if you’re getting shot in the back there is absolutely NO WAY to cover in time before you die; thats seriously a bummer. Other than that the overall update is great.

ARNE, What made you guys conduct the experiment in the first place? Because the game was almost perfect before. I mean this used to be a skilled-based shooter, but now it is a campfest. If enought people liked it at least give it its own playlist. All you had to do was fix glitches, and make it so that people didn’t spawn with a granade.

i went straight to the hospital and roundhoused a multitude of infants right after i finished a game of 1.05

also, erm… yeah, game kinda sucks atm, do change it back eh? or like, fix it. ionno, make another poll? hmm.. maybe fix stuff like y’know, glitches? lagzones where you pretty much freeze when you step into. or like random deaths from grabbing certain ledges? give back levels from people who got resetted? kthxbai.

PS: add akimbo’s and UAV’s if 1.05 stays. it’ll fit it very nicely.

These settings are pretty terrible. No longer can I run out in the open because if I’m shot at, I’m pretty much dead right there. Whereas before, if I’m being shot at I at least have a chance to get a way, find cover and even retaliate. If I want to survive, I’m gonna have to camp now… borrrrrrrrrring. I also loved those long, drawn-out, one-on-one duels that you would get sometimes before the change. You’d have two guys see each other and they’d be shooting, covering, shooting, covering… and you had time to use strategy in how you would flush the guy out (with a grenade or something) or perhaps just run at him blindfiring. And the end result would be so rewarding if you won, and even if you lost, you’d be like “awwwww! crap! but at least that was intense and fun.” No longer does this happen because you die or kill instantly. You’ve made this game a shooter like any other… I’ll pass.

i havent gotten the update yet, but here’s a suggestion ND for the next patch, increase how many kills it takes 2 win a match, i mean come on 5 on 5 matches up to 50 kills within 20 min, i have never even played a match that took more than 10 min, up the kills please to about 80 or 100 that should be doable in 20 min, otherwise shorten matches to 10 min, no complaints besides that keep up the good work ND.

Love the new medals. Hate everything else. Reset everything back. Make AK damage between original and current. Make a play list w/o grenades. Maybe patch the glitches to combat cheaters. Don’t listen to corporate executives. They just F sh!t up. Keep creating maps. Cover is almost useless as is the dynamics of the game. I think I’ll go play COD.

Hey guys, love the Update. The new medals are great but there is just one problem....

PUT THE MEDALS BACK IN THE CORNER!!! If you die when you get a medal you can’t tell what you got because the info screen is in the way. I liked it a lot better when they popped up in the corner. Other than that everything is perfect.

I don’t like the new 1.05 update. Too many campers now that we have lower health. If someone re-spawns behind you, you might as well kill yourself because the chances of getting to cover is pretty much impossible. The auto shoulder aiming is horrible. Why is that even there? Please go back to the previous version, ND.

The only thing I like about this update are the new medals.

Ok the goods:
-New Medals equal more money which is pretty good
-AFK people finally get kicked the hell out
-Error syncing gone
-Nice new trophys I guess
-Scrolling bar showing bar showing text you can easily find out already is just meh

The bad
-Just about everything else!!!!
-Automatic shoulder switching which has gotten me killed more times then I can count
-FAL which can kill with 2 bullets (one burst fire)
-All automatic weapons are ridiculous killers now
-Sniper that 1 hit kills on your whole body even your foot -_-
-Medals appearing right in the dam way and half the time you can’t see what it is
-Getting shot threw walls now even in areas without glitches o.O

It’s sad man I don’t want CoD I want Uncharted dam it. Give me back the game of the year please.....

Worst ever update so far.Its still takes a lot to kill with AK47 and now Sniper rifles are simply disbalanced.Fix nades they to easy to throw even when u dead 0_o timer shud be like 4 seconds and if u dont fix it ur game will still be fun 4 kids.p.s. 60millions is retarded

Love the new update ND. All in all it makes a brilliant game even better. Sad to see so many players using emotional blackmail when they don’t like a change. Like we should care that you are going to play MW2 or whatever it is. So sad, gonna miss you all. Now please leave and let the rest of us enjoy our game.

The new medals are a nice addition, makes it a lot easier to get to 50k if you are not using the “Invalid” booster. Feels like there are more action going on with all of them popping up.

The new damage distribution took a bit getting used to, but the more I play the more I like it.

Only gripe is the auto shoulder switching. If possible, give us the option to turn it on or off.

Thanks for a great update! Now for the long wait till the 25th ;-(

I personally love this new update. The new weapon balance is good and I don’t think it is unbalanced. It plays the same, except opponents take less bullets, but so do you. Just got to play it more conservatively and less Rambo style.

The new medals and the way they’re displayed give the game a fresh new feel.

Also, I would like to encourage everyone to please give the new modified weapons a try. Playing for 20 minutes and giving up is not giving this new update a fair try. At least try it out for a week before you dismiss it. I hope that Naughty Dog will not succumb to the mass whining I’m reading on this forum and change this amazing new update.

Two weeks ago i got this game. Never played any shooter. No skills, nothing. My first impressen was, this gameplay is totaly out of balance.

After this update i got a chance. Thanks for this great update.

If you can put the medals on the right top of the screen....because at the center we can’t see them if we also have it and die at the same time. You know “au dela”

I have to say that I am very disappointed with the mandatory change to the weapon damage. Unfortunately nothing I can say is different from some of the other complaints here. There is literally no chance to dodge or get away from any fire that is coming at you. Specifically from the back or sides. I’ve had worked damn hard to get my stats and my profile to where I am since the launch. And now, to have players less skilled and less accurate than me get easy kills (at my expense) simply because I’m not looking at them and can’t get away seems completely unfair and rediculous. The only option to keep a fairly high K/D would be to stick to one area of the map, not move around, not use any negative boosters and just pick my pot shots. Unfortunately I’m not that kind of player. Never have been. I’ve gotten my 2.53 K/D and up to 317 on the leaderboards by being able to out think and out aim those who are camping or just trying to play safe. Now, anytime I am moving or out in the open or climbing, there is no chance of survival if I’m spotted.

I was excited for the new pack and trophies. However at this point the game is more frustrating than fun. If this continues I’ll be getting to my level 60 and moving on as quickly as I can. Not because I want to, but simply because I didnt pay to be frustrated. At this point there are multiple times I’m getting killed where previously I had at least a chance of surviving.

With your majority rules, you have catered to a crowd that wants instant gratification with easier kills. I know its no big deal for you guys to lose out on one guy complaining or not buying the upcoming DLC. I just wish you gave us an option to play the game we’ve come to have a lot of fun with, I wouldn’t have wasted over 9 days of gameplay if it hadn’t been worth it.

Kudos, of course on the single player. Worth every penny. I’m sorry I won’t be enjoying your new maps. I already have my plat so the other trophies are worthless if I can’t enjoy getting them. All the best. Looking forward to U3.

please naughty dog put the health back to what it was before ur because things like lowered health are gonna turn uncharted 2 into modern warfare 2 i mean com on mw 2 4 shot kills uncharted 2 5-6 please put it back to 7 or 8 shots because modern warfares health may be realistic but its no fun since u have no cover and literally all the weapons are as fast as the m4 in uncharted so u get killed in half a second and i have found a couple of complaints on u tube about the fals burst i mean the fal would be an ak with no bursts so leave the fal (my favorait gun in the game)because its awesome its like an ak 47 but with much longer range and a million times better accuracy+ a scope and i cant w8 4 the new maps well i hope this helped im gonna go play uncharted 2 multiplayer now (level 49)

Hey ND,
I would like to say THANK YOU! The update has removed a large amount of lag kills I was getting with more health. In some matches I start being shot and would hide behind a wall and 2 seconds later would die, with absolutly no possible line of fire. I can see most people have a different view on the update and I think the best method to resolve this would be to create a second playlist.

I am a little disapointed that you haven’t removed the glitches in The Fort, which people are using to win eliminations and other matches. You really need to fix these glitches soon or at least give players a method of reporting glitches/glitchers. Maybe a way to submit the cinema video of them cheating to you?

The lobby system needs some work, I sometimes spend 5-10 minutes searching for players and friends see me as being in the lobby, but unable to join. Can you make an option to let us check how is in matchs/lobby while searching for a game and a way they can jump in without quiting out of the search?

too easy to kill ppl and get killed, not as much enjoyment, put the health bak to what it was, or atleast reduce FAL damage, cuz thats all ppl do now…
this game is UNIQUE keep it that way
i have herd a lot of very high levels, such as myself complain.. and they are not happy with the health…
we can live with the sniper, but put the health back, ypu will lose players over this.. ;/

Even MORE connection error!! What? Sniper rifle requires ONE shot only? Perfect for beginners, campers and cowards.

Thei AIM is sometimes moved automaticallu from left side to right side. What is thiS? Havent you tested it properly BEFORE RELEASE?!

Jesus, people will start playing something else and if much of this (especially) aiming isnt fixed until DLC i wont be excited.
Fix first, then release! More complaints than nice words this time. sorry

I completely stopped playing this. I will not buy your new DLC. I feel ripped off, since i bought the Heroes skinpack for nothing. Good Job! Misson Accomplished Naughty Dog Ithink you guys did what you planned. which was alienate all the good players so the stupid noobs dont get raped constantly and offer them a better experience. The Noob Effect. Its happening to almost all games now. Imagine if capcom decided to take away Ryu’s shoryuken attack just cause the majority of people cant figure it out . That how i feel. You are dumbing down the game. People that dont realize that is cause theyre such big noobs they cant comprehend the concept that they are defending. You people suck at shooters you gotta face it, some are just more talented then others. So if you like the update, guess what ?? YOU A NOOB!

Thank you ND, i really enjoyed the experimental weekend and this new update makes the game more enjoyable, Co-op is now more challenging as it was starting to get a little boring and easy.

For all those people complaining, imagine your on a team where 2 people leave, this new update would help you out, giving you a chance, rather than being the opposing teams bitch for the game.

Its true that glitchers still need to be fixed, but overall this is a great update and i look forward to the DLC.

It’s a shame they had to change things so.

ND has been pretty responsive in the past...so hopefully they take note of all the complaining here and address it. Make the reduced health/weapon damage a seperate playlist and everyone will be happy.....

I’m sure if ND notices drops in the number of people playing on-line, they’ll realize this was a mistake...and go back to what was working.

My guess is that the people in this blog are generally the “hard-core” players of this game...and losing them would be a huge blow.

PLEASE reconsider what you’ve done and give us back the game we’ve all grown fond of. Make the reduced health a new playlist and anyone that likes it can choose to play there.

I am currently downloading the update, so I can’t comment on how good it is, but I’d like to report a glitch that cheaters are exploiting in The Fort.

On one of the wing entrances down to the underground level, there is an area that players can get underneath the textures and then scope in players from a distance, ignoring any solid obstacles in the way. Not happy when you get hammered from someone you can’t see or fight back. Please fix immediately!

I’m level 50 and I pretty much haven’t ejected the uncharted 2 disk from my ps3 since October last year. Gotta say after 4-5 hrs playing today I’m starting to hate the game. Way to many snipers camping up high. Climbing and camping were two things that I rarely did before the patch so I’ll have to totally rethink my style of play. I guess those that love it had this style of play to begin with. For me its a huge change.

That camera bug is crazy. Switching views whilst in the middle of a fight has cost me dearly. I guess everyone has to deal with it though.

I was so pumped for the new maps too. Might have to move on to another game though. I guess my wife will be happy though ;P

I have tried the 1.05 for 4 hours as of now and I agree with the vast majority of comments :
1) great news features with medals
2) great “camper” detector
3) great for the better stability (4 hours without disconnect!)

4) BAD rebalance of weapons damage and attibutes

Would it be possible in the next patch that in the co-op games ,particularly, that you could find players that are more about your level. I’m getting fed up of playing with new people (lvl 1-20’s) to the game who don’t know what to do and don’t co-operate!

Health is bad...but what makes it worse is when you have invalid booster on. Your health is about 2-3 shots from a Fal you’re dead. 5 shots from an A-K you’re dead.

Why ND change the health (w/o giving its own playlist at least) is beyond me. The game --like many others said will encourage campers just like the most overrated game called MW2. ND, I usually don’t comment on these blogs but I must warn you guys..you might lose some of your fanbase. This game was very competitive until this update.. I suggest changing the health back, or give its own playlist at least.

Something id really love to know is :
why is it when i throw a grenade it takes 20 seconds to explode and somehow usually teleports back to me and blows me up cos it happens alot and its really starting to annoy me…
And i usually have to shoot two whole clips to kill someone even if there standing still and im loading bullets into their skull ¬_¬

Well, having spent about four hours playing the ‘new’ Uncharted 2 last night, I have a few impressions, both good and bad:

The new medals are great. My only issues would be the center placement putting them smack behind the scoreboard where they can’t be read. Also, why reward me for being unable to score for five kills, particularly if it may mean I was away from the controller? (Oh yeah, the new afk kick is good too.)

Not sure if this was purely my imagination, but the game felt a hair faster… particularly when climbing. I like it, if that’s not just perception.

Auto-shoulder switching would seem to be universally reviled by everyone I’ve talked to in-game and online. It sounded like a great idea when I heard it’d been added, but after playing and getting killed several times because I lost my target when the shoulder switched, I’d say make it an option or ditch it entirely.

The new weapon tweaks are don’t ‘totally ruin the game’ as some might say, but they do make the game significantly easier for people who suck (like me), and I don’t like that. I was racking up kills like nobody’s business last night, despite the fact that I haven’t gotten any better. That seems wrong to me.

The new super-strength of certain weapons mean that where I used to get crushed only by better players, I now get crushed by whoever grabs the sniper rifle, the Micro-9, or any gun stronger than whatever I’m packing, almost regardless of their skill at aiming or my skill at dodging. It’s like every match feels a bit like RPG-only. Sniper & Pistole matches are 90% sniper and 10% pistole now because you can barely come out of hiding. The game is more “hide and seek” and less “run and gun” than it used to be. (I’m not high level enough to get the Invalid booster yet, but I can imagine it being practically impossible to play using it now...)

Overall, the weapon change isn’t *so* drastic that I can’t get used to it, and I still had fun (I did play for 4 hours after all!) but it’s definitely not the Uncharted that it used to be - it feels faster, with more time spent in staying in cover or waiting for a re-spawn. It feels a little less like Uncharted and a little more like… well, everything else out there. Why you felt the need to make sweeping changes to a game that won every award that exists baffles me. The game you replaced it with is still fun, but it’s not the award winner anymore… it feels like Uncharted’s more aggressive, n00b-friendly cousin. I’ll still be playing, and I’m still looking forward to the new DLC, but I’ll really miss the game I used to play. The one that offered more of a challenge and required more skill to be the winner. Naughty, Dogs. Very naughty indeed.

I don’t mean to question one of the Greatest companies of all time...but, this update serves no purpose to the hardcore gamers (which I try to be).

The Medals and updated Leaderboard scroll could have been it really.
Just take away the health issue it’s to strong. My KDR is dropping dramatically and I can’t take it. By the time I get used to this again I will have again a 1.5 KDR apart from my 2.00.......
Please FIX IT.

Not to mention.
There are some mic issues (or perhaps that’s on our side)
Players are freezing while matches are loading
Spawn camping is to much of a deal now. (Temple people must have found a glitch where you camp behind a pillar and spawn in front.

Please try and solve these problems fast :D.

I played more last night, and now I’m on the fence about the update. I think the Sniper Rifle is too powerful. I got clocked by the same guy 9 times in a row, and I consider myself a good player. Camping is really irritating.

I’ll try to keep this simple - thanks (mostly!) for the update Naughty Dog. The new medals are awesome (including the way they pop up on-screen), and I’m so happy you’re doing something about the UNBELIEVABLY annoying AFK players (that was starting to ruin the game for me).

Now, as for the weapon changes - I like all of ‘em except for the sniper rifle. C’mon, it’s basically a shotgun that can be used from a mile away. At least with a one-hit kill shotgun, you have a chance of chucking a grenade or something. Sniper rifle should *not* be one-hit kill if you hit a guy in the shin. Now I find myself grabbing the sniper rifle even though I suck with it, only so that the other team can’t use it (which sucks). The reason I love this game more than something like CoD is because there’s more craziness happening up close. I hate spawning and dying in one second from some cheap camper who knows he’s basically invincible crouching behind something with a sniper rifle (look at Lost City, there’s a sniper rifle at the waterfall right near the stairs to one of the spawn points - yesterday had a guy just sitting there picking people off as they spawned and came down).

Anywho, I’m ranting. I love 99% of this update, but unfortunately that other 1% could really ruin the game. Turn the sniper rifle back to more than one-hit kill (unless it’s a headshot). FAL and everything else is great.

Make me want to keep playing one of the best multiplayer games ever!

What the hell did you do Naughty Dog? =(

The balance was excellent except for the grenade launcher but it was not that bad. =(

Now the game has become less skillful and more of a CoD-clone.

Seriously I always supported you guys but I will not play this game again unless you change it back to the way it was.

Seriously, I really miss the old Uncharted 2, the game I loved so much. The game that made me quit Gears of War (which I love). And now I’m left alone. =(

Had a few problems after I installed the Update. Getting into a party and starting was trouble. We would start searching for players and would get kicked out of the party and logged out. In matches, there was a slight lag.
The Update itself is a nice touch, but please fix these issues.
(Can’t wait for the new skins and maps. HERE COMES EDDIE!)

i really like the medal thing though but removing idle players isnt good. like when i had to go take a #1 i came back i was removed. and take out the penalty thing, sometimes my ps3 will freeze and when i boot up the game again i lost $40,000 and then i was like ....... and then had to play lots of matches just to go back to where i started.

WHY ND WHY? why fix what’s not broken, and not fix the broken?(disconnection, long waiting time, melee lag etc) why ruin such a great MP before the patch? why did you guys add AUTO SHOULDER SWITCH if nobody needed it?

also...because of this patch myself and many others are no longer buying the DLC...i’m not going to waste money on a game i can’t stand to play...This was becoming one of my favorite games of all-time...and now you have crushed it with a single update...i cannot explain to you how pissed i am about this update...i can’t even go get a new game because my wallet was stolen the other day...I won’t be playing this though...not until it’s fixed

Hi ND, this is my first post and must say that i’m a huge fan of the Uncharted titles, Best game ever IMHO, but it is a matter of taste.
I love the new update although some nubes are getting more kills and camping, the more advanced players are also getting mor kills and theres nothing better than a room full of campers and the barrel of my shottie. I do however take issue with the loss of $$$$$$ when logged out from game due to a connection error of some description, It would be great to have tha ablility to block certain players from your matches and if possible (as there are bigger maps on the way) to be able to have a 10 man team. Totally disagree with kicking players who stand idle for to long, one of my team mates was kicked for standing idle whilst trying to avoid a glitcher who was on the verge of wrecking his perfect game.
Otherwise GOOD WORK, i haven’t found a game that compares yet.
Thanks for the hours and hours of fun i had and will continue having. :0)

Naughty Dog. You are great developers, im a big MP gaming guy and out all of the games, i have never known devs to try and please the community this much with updates, DLC etc.

HOWEVER! This update has completley screwed up the Uncharted gameplay. Headshots are pointless now and the skill gap has been lowered greatly. Players now resort to camping, which results in very boring games and is more often than not a who sees who first type battle. Previously if a player was shooting me in the back, i could turn around and still out gun them, this gives great reward and satisfaction, how ever, you are no longer able to reap such rewards. If your getting shot in the back, 9/10 your dead.

This feels all very familiar to call of duty. Please change the settings ASAP to the old Uncharted gameplay we all know and love.

naughty dog, take a look at how many people hate this update (regarding weapon adjustments). seriously, the only people that love this weapon adjusting are the ones that sucked at the game in the first place. this update completely took the skill outta the entire game, head shots are now useless? cmon you know you messed up when people are saying what’s the point of aiming for the head. I’m not even trying and I’m getting a k/d ratio of 3/1 on average in each match now, it’s boring me.

Weapon damage is too severe. This lends itself to campers and snipers, players no longer risk movement. I saw this during the experimental weekend too, the quickdraw gunfights favored whoever spotted whom first, never the technically skilled player. A worse player can succeed at this merely by never poking their head up and never risking movement. Considering Uncharted is all about traversal and climbing this is a really * bad thing. I said this during the experimental weekend, and now I’m quitting uncharted 2’s multiplayer. sorry guys, moving on to to something that rewards skill.

I’m the kind of guy that only likes very particular games. For a couple of years, I played Gears of War almost exclusively (xbox 360). I never found a game I liked better, until Uncharted 2 came out.

I was AMAZED at how much fun the multiplayer was. I haven’t touched my xbox since this game was released.

This update is so freaking horrible. It’s like when Gears of War 2 came out - the Multiplayer was so different - the nerfed the shotgun, slowed gameplay way down (when you go back to gears 1 it feels like you lost 100 pounds and are sprinting). So I sold Gears 2.

Now I play a match on Village - everyone has to bum rush the sniper to kill anyone getting close to the gun b/c it’s a freaking 1 SHOT KILL AND NOT EVEN JUST FOR HEADSHOTS. This guy was killing our whole team with the damned sniper rifle. No chance to run or duck or take cover. One shot, you’re dead.

On Train Wreck, I’m getting killed from across the map with three bullets from the freaking AK-47?? I couldn’t figure out what was going on. I used to be able to run around and look for people on the map. Now if you’re visible, you’re dead.

Please put the weapon damage back to the way it was. Just like Gears of War 2 ruined Gears multiplayer, this new patch makes the game NOT FUN. I got MW2 and sold it a week later because if you leave your campsite for 2 seconds, you’re dead. Before you can even tell where you’re being shot from, you’re dead. The graphics are neat and bla bla bla, but the game IS NOT FUN. Why should I play it if it’s just pissing me off non-stop?

Reading the comments on this it looks like 75-80% of people are PISSED about this - so if you truly listen to your customers as I’ve read so many times that you do, PLEASE CHANGE THE WEAPONS BACK THE WAY THEY WERE. Damn.
