The Uncharted 3 Multiplayer Beta 1.02 patch was released this morning in Europe and Asia, and will continue to roll out across all regions participating in the Beta. The full patch notes to update 1.04 are listed below.

Fixed an issue with the Facebook friends list where it would display duplicate and/or incorrect PSN IDs for some players
Fixed an issue where some players would gain cash/XP during the playback of some Cinema files

QUESTION!
Are we going to have the choice of joining an already started game or only search new games? Because joining 0-2 Plunder games and 43-47 Deathmatch games its not fun!!! And if we can’t have the choice, are these matches going to count in my win/loss ratio? As a hardcore U2 gamer I take pride in this ratio.

I really like how Naughty Dog is taking the time to be on top of this game. There are still quite a few bugs though:
-The last time I checked, you could still jump through that one second-story wall in The Chateau. It was almost as if the developers meant to put a window in that wall like the one on the opposite side of that room, but forgot to do so graphically.
-Whenever someone goes to collect a treasure out of a chest and they get shot down, sometimes their loose gun lands too close to the treasure. As a result, when you go to pick up the treasure, you might pick up their gun. And then when you pick up that gun and try again to collect the treasure, you end up just picking up the gun you just dropped. I think that treasure chests should have priority pickups if that’s possible.
-It seems like you can mute yourself. When you do so, the audio icon will still appear for everyone, but no one will be able to hear you. It’s a real pain in the butt, because sometimes it seems like you can’t un-mute yourself. I’ve had this problem with a few friends of mine already, but I’m not sure if it’s just me.
-I really think that between rounds in Co-op Arena and Team Objective, as well as at the end of matches, when the results pop up on the screen, you shouldn’t make the mute cursor appear with them. Why? Because the mute button, X, is the same button that you celebrate with. So when you go to celebrate a victory, you might unmute someone. This isn’t as much a big deal at the end of matches as it is in the middle of matches, though, because you can just go and mute them again between games.

I mega agree with the treasure/gun drop proximity issue. In fact, I always thought it was kind of annoying in U2, since the triangle button picked up new guns, grenades dropped treasure, AND ammo.
At least now you can just run over ammo and ‘nades to pick them up, but I agree that the dropped weapon should be thrown a bit further. Especially since it seems in the beta that you don’t tend to run out of ammo as much.

Actually, i think the reason as to why you can jump through those walls is because a fire can start up there on some modes. it must confuse the game, because on the mode that it burns, you can’t jump through the wall but on co-op, where it doesn’t burn away, lets you jump through it.... lol i’m sure they will get on that. btw i agree with you.

Yeah, good point! I just noticed that today when it was on fire that it was a giant window! But I never paid attention to whether it was a window or not before it was on fire...I’m assuming it’s still not. But you make a good point. That’s probably exactly what it is.

on my list where it tells you the score you have and how many kills, my name is on the same line as the person below me. like if i was the top killer my kills and deaths would be on top but my name would be on the second line

Could someone help me with this? In every match after 1-5 minutes of gameplay I get disconnected. This happens almost every time I try to play. It’s odd because some days the beta works perfectly for me. I’ve tried both wired and wireless connections. Help would be appreciated.

Let me guess, it happens the most on Hunter right? TDM has it happen sometimes too, but Hunter is REALLY REALLY BAD at disconnecting. try playing when NOBODY is connected to your Router. this works for me some of the time.

When you test your internet connection on your PS3, what NAT type do you get? If you have NAT type 3, you should look online on how to fix that. That means that your network security is heavy and that you won’t be able to connect to many game hosts. Type 2 isn’t as bad and Type 1 is great.

Has anyone played the updated co-op matches today? It was really annoying to play and I wasn’t sure if this was because of deliberate gameplay decisions or because it was riddled with glitches.

-First, I only started out with a pistol, no long-gun. Okay fine, but was that on purpose?

-Then there’s another co-op team in the room. So, we’re trying to play against AI AND another team? I thought it would be cool, but it wasn’t really.

-Then the AI villains were just wandering around at first, I couldn’t really shoot them, and they didn’t particularly care that I was around. Then in another round, I could do like 10 headshots in a row and they wouldn’t die, but they were able to kill me.
There were plunder treasures everywhere and it was a little confusing what to do with them.

With all that said, the U3 beta has been a blast and I’ve enjoyed playing! I just wanted to bring these things to your attention

P.S.:One more small thing, in my last objectives match, when the objective switched from plunder to chain reaction, the plunder treasure was still active while we were playing chain reaction.

Co-op hunter arena was just as you said. Just mediocre at best. I thought this was going to be like the hoard mode from UC2, but with some UC3 updates (like treasure hunting against the AI). I did notice that when you are switched over to the villain side you only have pistols; and you have to medal up to get better weaponry.

The AI was out of control. The computer spawned them right on top of me when it felt “threatened” WITH shotguns/pistoles. I was more annoyed with this mode than anything.

I wish you would make the AK and the Pistol feel like it used to. It is hard to keep a steady aim now. I also with the reticle would turn red instead of having an X when you hit someone with bullets. Also, when you are trying to mute people during a match and u are scrolling up and down the list of people, it will activate your kickback without you meaning to. Give us back two granade slots without having to use the paid boosters!!

1) The wall jumping system feels a bit off. Ex: a)Plenty of space on the wall, but multiple people can’t climb. b)Not jumping to ledges/climbing stones even though you are clearly facing it.

2) The rolling animation is completely ineffective. This was not a problem in U2, or even the Beta of U2. Way too slow. Have to prepare yourself for a summersault?? I don’t mind getting shot in a roll, but when you take this long to even get into rolling position and you get shot up, makes it not fun.

3) Place people in evenly leveled rooms. If I’m a level 5, I shouldn’t be on a team with all 1-10s, and the other team is 30+ across the board. Even if it is a friends invite list, I find it hard to believe there aren’t any other 30s, they can play.

4)Please create a button-push option to go to the kickbacks and upgrades screen instead of automatically bring up the screens.

Positives: Guns are great and fairly even. Running is pretty smooth.

Switching guns and picking up treasure OR rolling and taking cover OR jumping and taunting all need their own buttons.

I realize the buttons to actions ratio but the current “combinations” are pure misery. Just change it a lil.... Take cover or pick up treasure = same button. Taunt would go well as tap down on the d-pad seeing as the only other function there is hold down the high five IF you got an assist AND your buddy is around.

Please do something about being trapped in the lobby and quickscoping. I’ll deal with it for one match vs. abandoning my team but if I can’t back out of the next lobby… Least everyone will have a buddy if I quit. Get rid of the aim dot or make bringing the sniper rifle up a lot slower or both. If the beta ends with this quick scope, run through bullet fire, nade my feet and or super melee AFTER you’re dead garbage still going on , I cannot buy this game. Least not till it’s half price since I’m only interested in half of what’s on the disk. The more this game starts to feel like Call of Duty, the more convinced I become that I should save my U3 money for Battlefield maps.

Can someone please help me or tell me what is wrong.. Everytime i join any game mode on the Uncharted 3 Beta I take 3 steps and then for the rest of the match I get a connection interrupted symbol in the middle of my screen and i am not able to move for the whole match. Its really annoying. The only game mode(s) i can try out are Co-op arena/Hunter, and they get a little boring after awhile. Please someone help me, i would really appreciate it.

You have some really troubling lag. U2’s lag was given to people by not allowing them to move. If your connection isn’t very good, I would make sure that you’re the only person using the internet when you go to play a game online.

I’m sure that Naughty Dog will put the “The Lab” game mode into this game on special weekends similar to how they did in Uncharted 2. I’m willing to bet that one “The Lab” game mode that will return is the no power weapons mode. I’m not sure about Power Plays.

I don’t like Power play too. Greatest thing in U2 was its realm. Nick over head and thats it. In U3? Useless emblems...or when pp, some mark of shield.
The worst thing are kickbacks. Character dissapear… ,,science fiction right?’’. Oh almost forgot, this aura when use kickback it’s good for RPG not Uncharted. It would be better when character makes something like he got a inject of adrenaline.

Yeah, I just put in UC2. WHY AM I PLAYING 3??? 2 WAS PERFECT. This is just another example of the gaming industry thinking we need changes and all we really want are roster updates, new stories, and/or new weapons. Keep the old gameplay, add some modes, add the ability to put in women. Call it a day, and I’ll gladly fork over my $60 like I did for UC2.

First of all dumbass, women aren’t in the multiplayer because it’s A BETA. I DOUBT the final options for character selection in the FULL GAME, NOT A BETA, is Nate, Sully, a random treasure hunter, and a pirate. You are beyond retarded. IT IS A BETA NOT THE FULL GAME!!!

2nd, they did add new modes. Hardcore, new coop modes, and instead of chain reaction and king of the hill, etc separated they combined them into team objective, like Killzone’s Warzone, which is awesome imo.

Uncharted 2 was beyond far from perfect. I mean you could argue it is better than 3 BEFORE PATCH 1.05 but that patch ruined the entire multiplayer experience. Bunny hopping, horrible weapon damages, and worst of all, all of the lag that these patches brought. I get more lag, without a doubt, then I have in any Cod in Uncharted 2. In fact there is still that bullet-to-person lag, where you can go behind cover and then die a second later, that’s in both UC2 and UC3 beta.

The problem with sequels is that if you change them too much, fans of the prequel whine and bitch about all the changes, just because they can’t get used to them. If they were real dedicated fans they would play the beta or full game a shit load, get used to it, and THEN see all the problems it has. The other problem with sequels is if you don’t change them enough. People hate Call of Duty because it doesn’t change shit year after year after year. I would rather see many changes in each future Uncharted than to see it become the same god dam multiplayer over and over and over again. I’m not saying you HAVE to add all this new stuff like kickbacks, powerplays, mods, upgradable perks, customization, (which are all balanced and I’ve played the crap out of this beta), but if they would have the same mechanics as Uncharted 2, just on different maps, would the game be better? No.

It’s not very hard to beat Uncharted 2’s multiplayer in it’s current state because it is absolutely horrid. Beating the multiplayer at 1.04, however, is a real challenge and so far, they are doing that, especially because of how balanced I believe the game is right now, (you know, besides the pistol-auto being extremely overpowered, the Para being underpowered, and some tiny small stuff here and there.)

No matter what game, a sequel is gonna get hate for the slightest change, or no change at all, so either way it’s gonna get slammed. People who played the first Infamous complained about Infamous 2, complaining because of the voice actor is different, that they feel the powers are weaker, yada yada yada, yet I feel like people are just trying to find things to complain about, when overall, these games like Uncharted 3, Infamous 2, and more are better than their prequels, again, OVERALL.

I’m not sure what the name-calling was for. I was stating my opinion. No reason to fix a game that wasn’t broken. You clean up the things you said were wrong maybe, but obviously your gaming experience wasn’t nearly as good as mine playing 2. My comments were just to state take the UC2 engine, add the new stuff they want, and ship it.

And for your complaints.
Bunny hopping - never played in a room where that happened, and even if I did, it wasn’t an overwhelming problem. It’s not like anyone is Halo jumping around. Besides, the whole basis of the game is the parkour jumping...so moot point.

Horrible weapon damage - I’m not sure what you mean? Aren’t we playing a gun game. If I shoot you in the face with a pistol right now in real life, you die. It’s not over-exaggerated. You get rewarded for making the tough shots. A gun game should mean the guns work. Not running around waiting to melee someone because all of the guns are trash all of a sudden. If I punch you in the face, at most I’d give you is a bloody nose. Not going to pretend like I’m 80’s Mike Tyson.

Lag - Sorry your internet sucks. Tell your mom to either put the router in the basement where you sleep, or pony up the cash to get a better connection. That was never an issue for me.

The real problem with this game, is that they cloned Modern Warfare and threw Drake in. I don’t want to have to do the silly things this game calls for. If someone else wants to chime in and say that UC2 was as bad as you claim, then I’ll listen. But based on my experience yesterday, I played 3 - saw everything that was wrong with it. Popped in 2 to compare, saw that there was nothing wrong with the game in my estimation. And I had 3 Playstations going at once with 3 different friends playing on the network.

So once again, my opinion is - if I wanted to play Modern Warfare, I would put it in my PS3. UC should play like UC. End of story. 30+ perfect ratings has to mean something in the gaming industry.

Other issue. You assume I played the game for like an hour then started complaining. I played every mode any possible way you could play it. Split-screen, different screens, all of the modes. So get over yourself kid. The list I made was a breakdown of what 3 people at my house came to an agreement was wrong with the game after playing. It wasn’t just some arbitrary list.

MW doesn’t change its game b/c why mess with something that works. People will continue to buy the game just b/c its called COD. I wish EA Sports would copy their model. All of their franchises have been sh*t since 2005. Madden is awful, Live is awful (and hasn’t even been in production for 2+ years), the just ruined NHL, NCAA football sucks now. We’d only be so lucky for a couple of tweaks, new upgrades, and some consistency.

Hey naughty dog, I think the game is awesome but one thing that I hate is when I sign in as second player to play with my brother the split screen is kinda small and I can’t really see it that well which makes my gaming skills suck! I was wondering if you could fix the split screen and make it wider.

I have a pretty large widescreen TV, so I would like to have a choice to make the split-screen horizontal myself. It would make the screens much larger. And I agree with you, by the way. The screens are rather small.

I can’t party up with my friend, we join for a split second then get kicked and it happens over and over and we can’t play together. Everyone knows MP games are much more fun with friends.

Your connections may be incompatible. Check your NAT types. If both of your NAT types are type 1, then I don’t see why you guys should have a problem. If either of the two of you have a 2 or a 3, then that may be the problem that you are having.

After downloading the 1.04 update I been coming across this problem that when I join a matchmaking for any of the modes I can not leave that lobby. I have to quit the beta and restart to choose a different mode. This just started happening today.

Why is it that since my son has been playing on 1.04 we can only find “Games in Progress”!!! He is trying to get 10 games of plunder to get the DECAL Pack. ND, we need to have the CHOICE of whether we want to join a game in progress or not… Not just be forced to join it, as we feel compelled to LEAVE the game to pursue a FRESH game elsewhere!!

Please, please change this for the retail version, thank you. (the only bad thing so far about UC3)

The only suggestion I have would be to increase the aiming sensitivity in the control options. I need to be able to look at my surroundings as fast as possible. I guess everyone else has mentioned some of 5he other major issues. But in all. Its fun as hell. GG u guise!! ( ^.^)

A lot more often than not, extremely little to no time at is given as a chance to back out of matchmaking.
For instance, if I have just finished a Team Objective match, i would have just a few seconds, if that, to back out of matchmaking if I chose to.
Instead, if that window is missed, I would have to start the next match, then exit from there, which if the same rule as U2 with the losing money with backing out of a match in progress, just wouldn’t be fair.

on the airstrip level on the plane there is a problem i always run into when i play it, when you are trying to get onto the plane from either side, if you are hanging off the edge of the first truck and you just to get to the second one you always fall and die

I love new modes like co op hunter, 2vs2vs2 or Free For All but me and all my friend dreaming about return of old movements animation from UC2. Characters running there by 10% faster and looking on more focus (just like in sprint, but its not sprint )
Cover system, throwing nades. Thise elements making U2 so unique and smooth game. And now what we have here? ;/

What’s happening, fine folks at ND? First of all, i’d like to commend you all on your fantastic work. You truly are masters of your trade. Apparently not content with holding just the single player crown, you’ve created an online experience that would easily dub thee respective kings and queens of the multiplayer heap. Now, i never played Uncharted 2’s multiplayer, but the beta is an absolute blast. I have no idea why people are complaining about things like slow camera movement, excessive player health, slow player movement, and touchy cover controls. Granted, i was having some trouble in these areas initially, but most of these problems smooth themselves out once you reach the end of the learning curve. Soon, you’ll learn to stop aiming to make fast camera adjustments. You’ll learn to properly position yourself in any given area to fully take advantage of quick rolls into cover. You’ll learn to love the amount of health everyone has (In my opinion, the health level is perfect) because you have a chance to

I know from my playing yesterday that the characters naturally run in Uncharted 2. You never feel slow, but you aren’t faster than anyone either. The controls are touchy, b/c you could rotate your camera and be facing where you needed to be fairly smoothly in 2, now it feels jerky in 3. If you can find 2 for under $20 you should give it a whirl.

retaliate, and you’ll really want to improve your aim so you can come out victorious in any given confrontation. If you really think the movement is that slow, then you’ll love boosters and kickbacks like endurance, back in the saddle, and speedy g. Don’t listen to some fools out there that try to tell you otherwise. Afterall, you guys know what’s best for your game. However, I’d like to suggest the customization of gun parts (grip, clip, stock, etc) with different colors and/or emblems. My only real gripe is with picking up treasure with guns nearby. Oh, and i don’t like playing as villians. The most popular hero is Drake (duh), and it pains me to shoot that handsome devil in the face so much! Keep it up, ND. Come November, you guys will have nothing but another massive success on your hands (paws?). Thanks for reading. By the way, you guys can have my money right now!

Ok, I will let u know the bugs and glitches I’ve found:

1). When you’re in coop-hunter you can jump through a wall. It’s the wall, which normally falls apart in deathmatch, cause of the fire.

2.) When in coop-hunter and you’re the hunter first time (with bots) and u press X to early (to spawn) u sometimes only see the spawn point and wont spawn until the game is over.

3.) When a friend invites me or I invite him it often happens that I can get to his lobby but after 5 sec I just return to my own lobby and I’m alone. After some tries with reconneting to the multiplayer and inviting again, it works. It’s bad to try it often to have success connecting with the friend. Would be very nice if u improve that.

4.) When I just come to a new lobby and start connetinc with theother players, it sometimes happen, that it wont load the connection beams of some players. When this happen, I cant see what the player is voting for (map) and I also cant hear him if he has a aheadset turned on.

5.)I dont know if u can fix that, but if I have connection problems during a matc, I cant move my player but just loook around how the other players are killing each other and me too. Thats really annoying. It was in UC2 allready and that was 1 reason why I didnt play the game so long.

Now some improvements

1.) Changing to shoulde should be like in UC1. When i change to the left should, stop aiming and then aim again it should be the left shoulder again and not the right. Allways changing when im new aiming is annoying too^^

2.) More damage for waepons. It should be between the damage how it is now and the damage wehen its set to “double damage”.

3.)You should add an option to save the sign. Maybe 5 slots would be nice, because sometimes I just want to test a new sign but the old sign get lost allways. This would be a nice feature, dont u think too?

Thats all for now. The rest I found has been fixed aallready and thats why u are such a good company ND^^
