Uncharted 3 Beta Rank and Profile Reset

Some Uncharted 3 Beta players have been experiencing their multiplayer profile being reset when logging back into the Beta today.

We’re looking into what caused the issue – the good news is that your progress towards the Uncharted 3 Beta rewards has NOT been affected.

Earlier today, July 12, we started getting reports that some users were logging back into the Uncharted 3 Multiplayer Beta and finding that their progress in the game has been reset. Many players have had to re-accept the online agreement when logging in to the Beta and their profile shows they are at level 1, with no XP accumulated or Cash remaining in their profile.

We’re actively looking into what caused the issue so we can prevent it from happening in the future.

We know this is particularly worrying for those of you who have been working towards to the Uncharted 3 Beta rewards – we’ve reposted the details on the Beta rewards at the end of this post.

IF you were one of the players affected by this profile reset, here’s the scoop:

The GOOD news is that your progress towards those rewards has NOT been lost – we still have all of your detailed play history by game stored safely and ALL games you have played in the past and are playing right now WILL be counted towards your overall progress.

The BAD news is that we won’t be able to update your profile back to your current level, cash and unlocks. Unfortunately, that means all affected players will not be able to check their progress towards the requirements for the Beta rewards. We won’t be able to update your profile or even look up if you had 1,000 XP or 100,000 XP left before hitting level 25 before the Uncharted 3 Beta ends.

All of the rewards listed below are ONLY for the final, retail version of Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception. Players who have met the requirement to receive the rewards will be notified on how they can redeem their award before Uncharted 3 is released in November 2011. We’ll be keeping you updated on how you will be notified and when.

Complete 10 matches in every Gametype of Competitive Multiplayer and receive the Exclusive Beta Decal Pack 1!

Complete 4 Treasure Sets and receive the Treasure Hunter's Starter Pack!
Rank up to level 25 in the Beta and receive a handsome reward of in-game cash on day one!

To those players who have been affected – we know that losing your progress and not having an easy way to find out if you’ve hit the Beta requirements is extremely frustrating. We hope that knowing that your hard-earned progress to date has not actually been lost is some consolation to not being able to readily check up on your progress, and having to advance again from level 1 in the Beta over the next couple of days. You can still actively work towards meeting the requirements for all of the rewards and, as always, everything you do is helping us work towards a much better experience for when the retail version of Uncharted 3 is released in November.

After all – finding these kinds of issues early is (thankfully) what a Beta period is for.

Well from the looks of it, the post is worded as if there is already a way to view your progress. However, nobody on the forum knows how to view progress and Naughty Dog hasn’t said how to check this. So please, if you know how to check this, be my guest and tell us all how.

hi arne you posted the other day that you were working on being able to see the progress towards the goal of how many matches of each gametype we’ve already played, is this available? also, at another point you have been quoted (perhaps misquoted) as saying that the requirement is actually only 10 competitive matches of any type and 5 coop matches of any type. can you verify? thanks the beta is great and you guys are doing a great job!

But so those who are infected by it then yeah they are screwed if they were like 25 and above. They have to get to level 25 before tomorrow? That is so lame. My buddy was infected by it. He was ranked 31 with all of the requirements done. That is so gay. Good Job Naughty Dog on ruining it!

i don’t think it works.Yesterday i made 5 of each co-op mode-hunter,arena and adventure.But i didn’t get the pack.I replayed today all of them but still nothing.Also the treasure hunter’s started pack is not working either.Do we get them to use in the beta or are they like bonues materials for the game when it will come out?Like having bonus parts for costumisation?

Yes - we’ll be able to know your actual results after the Beta has ended and we’ve reprocessed all the games from the beginning. If you’ve already hit lvl 25, when your game history is processed, you’ll have your account showing you have accumulated the XP to hit past lvl 25.

This is pathetic and atrocious. I maxed out all my boosters except the endurance booster. I unlocked every single treasure set including Drake’s aviators. I was at level 43 trying to reach 50. Screw the beta decals, this is about personal achievement.

Stop whining. Would you rather they give you nothing? Because that’s the only other option from having a BETA.

Nope, you don’t have to rank back up to 25. If you already hit 25, you’re good. If you were short of 25, just keep playing games to make sure you get past that level through total XP - unfortunately letting you know your total XP (and the corresponding level) is what we won’t be able to show you.

Your to sub conscious, i found a glitch on chatau and got 20-0 but because everyone can do it, they shouldn’t ban you.

I know i shouldn’t have abused the glitch though, for moral and entertainment value -_-

Thanks for the update, I was looking for answers on this. I was one of those unfortunates that this happened to, glad to know that we aren’t screwed because of this and I was about to try to hit level 25 again (currently 10). Of course if you could give us unfortunate folks a freebie on all those rewards for the inconvenience that would be nice :D

Do you guys also have a record of treasure sets that were complete? Or should we attempt to re-complete those? I thank you for all the hard work Naughty Dog and arne. It can’t be easy dealing with stuff like this.

I still think it’s a bit of a shame that we’re not able to see if we met the requirements. The beta is nearly finished, and in the last weeks we haven’t seen anything of it!
But I love the beta ND, and I love the work you guys do, so keep up that good work.

This is pretty disappointing but I understand that its a beta. Is there any way you guys can tell exactly how much exp is required to hit level 25? I was level 20 when my stats were all reset yesterday. I had about a total of 500,000 exp. It would be nice to at least know about how much I need to get tonight to meet the level 25 requirements. Also will we be able to play on Thursday or does the beta end tonight at midnight? It would not really be fair if it ends tonight as you guys say up in the post you have the next “couple days” to regain your stats when its realistically gonna be whatever is left of today. It would be really awesome if you guys could give us an extra day.

10 of every competitive game type and 5 of every cooperative game type?! What is this, endurance or something? Guess I’m missing out on something else because I simply don’t have the time or patience to play for that long. Why is everything about playing for too long now instead of rewarding people for playing well?

From what I understand if you earn the necessary XP it will all be compiled on their servers later and you’ll get the credit for it. It’s not you that kills the game for me. It’s the people that do it every game. I’ll be all excited to play and doing really great and then I run into the cheaters. They take every ounce of fun from those of us who are competitive within the confines of the game as it was meant to be played. It SUCKS!

How in the world do I see my stats? Oh and I’m new and using my PSN account. Sooo when I click stats it shows me Uncharted 2 stats I’m guess? But saying I’m level 33, but on UC2 I’m 39 if I’m correct and on UC3 BETA I’m 31.... soooo.....

Hi Ndog, any chance you can let me know on how I can get my previous game videos back? I had joined a game once but then its cinema file didnt appear on my library which sadly enough, I did really well. Along with that, some of my cinema file I had protected were causing my PS3 to freeze everytime I click start. I am hoping to get the cinema files back so I can send them to Rockshow to get them checked and approved. Anyone knows where I can get my vids back?

Hey arne, I got to level 25 and achieved Merc Armor yesterday but when I got back on this morning I was reset to level 24 again and I had lost the Merc Armor. Yesterday I also had completed 5 matches in all of the Co Op Multiplayer and I’m not sure if they still count. Will all the achievements and matches I did yesterday still count?

the graphic of Uncharted 3 is just like Uncharted 2. and the guns........ are so UNDER powered it take a clip just to kill one person how’s even possible. uncharted 2 did MUCH better job on that. ana if you and your teammat climbing the same building you both fall off I know I have stupid teammates but need fix that. and why on earth is people take 3 punches now? that make the game MUCH slow than it already the way it is.

Stats aren’t correct on the stats page. Does ND know what my actual stats are and will it affect my getting the rewards in the final game? I’ve more than met the requirements.

Plus as far as the stats page goes I haven’t played only one game of Team Deathmatch in 1969. My Delorean is currently getting it’s M.O.T.
