Game Designer (Single Player)


  • Design and produce fun and emotionally engaging third-person action gameplay and levels, from high concept planning to object placement and scripting
  • Create environmental layouts in the form of simplified level geometry, and then perform extensive level play-testing and layout iteration
  • Collaborate with artists, programmers, animators and other game designers to craft the vision of your levels and the game
  • Act as producer for levels you design, as well as other parts of the game, facilitating communication across disciplines, clearing dependencies, and ensuring deadlines are met
  • Design and champion gameplay systems, conventions, and scenarios
  • Partner with programmers and other designers to develop and improve tools on an ongoing basis
  • Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed

Requirements & Skills:

  • Experience designing and scripting single-player levels for console games
  • Good working knowledge of Maya, 3DS Max, or similar 3D package
  • Keen methodology and problem solving ability, with a focus on creative, fun, and innovative solutions
  • Eagerness to learn and improve as a designer
  • Able to welcome design direction and suggestions when offered
  • Proficient and effective communication skills
  • Collaborates well as part of a diverse team, innovating without losing sight of the gameplay vision
  • Understanding of and experience playing 3rd person action games
