Naughty Dog is looking for a Tools Designer to craft interfaces and empower artists to push the possibilities in content creation! This may mean creating new UI that changes the way we interact with the worlds we create, designing workflows that help elevate the stories our artists build, or improving the functionality and look of existing tools – join our team in crafting tools as evocative as our games! 

Responsibilities: 

  • Design and build user interfaces for multiple disciplines throughout our production pipeline 
  • Coordinate closely with artists, designers and back-end programmers to both create new, and evolve current workflows and tools 
  • Architect and promote a shared visual language. 
  • Create widgets and write low-level libraries that can be shared 
  • Ensuring interfaces are user-friendly, effective and well documented  
  • Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed  

Requirement & Skills: 

  • Passion for building interactive and cheerful user experiences  
  • Proven experience with Python, PyQT/PySide  
  • Understanding of good UX / UI Design and core principles of design systems and UI kit creation  
  • Proficiency in prototyping tools such as Adobe XD or Figma 
  • Experience creating productivity software with an understanding of usability and architectural patterns ( e.g. MVVM )  

Bonus Skills:

  • Knowledge of 3d software such as Maya and Houdini 
  • Experience in C++ or C# 
  • Familiarity with content creation and game development workflows 

As part of the Naughty Dog application process, candidates should expect to be given a technical interview and may be asked to complete an art test.

At SIE, we consider several factors when setting each role’s base pay range, including the competitive benchmarking data for the market and geographic location. Please note that the base pay range may vary in line with our hybrid working policy and individual base pay will be determined based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.

In addition, this role may be eligible for bonus and SIE’s top-tier benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, matching 401(k), paid time off, wellness program and coveted employee discounts for Sony products.
